TXT "Run Away" Music Video Reaction 

This album is a bop I liked the last one too but this one is a 100% upgrade

Best comeback song of 2019, for me

So, there’s a theory (xCeleste the genius!) that it’s about school bullying, feeling like an outcast (this connects A LOT with their previous MVs “Crown” and “Nap of a Star” and their concept photos for this album) and wanting to escape all that (that’s pretty much the lyrics, the 9 ¾ platform that takes you to the magic world of Harry Potter, and the whole “magic land under the trap door by the pool”). There’s a lot of fire in the MV, but also lots of water too (the pool, the sprinkles, their water-throwing at the camera, and (not exactly water, but) the fire extinguisher). xCeleste connects it very well: she thinks the fire may represent angst and the water is whatever can help dealing with that anger. It may be a long shot, but there’s a book with the same title as the one Taehyun is reading in the library (“Put out the Fire”) - it is by Eddie Spencer and literally says on the cover “How to control your anger before it destroys your life” (again this is all xCeleste’s finding). Now many people are also thinking that somehow, in the universe storyline (which we don’t know much about, since it’s too early), one of the boys started (probably accidently) started a fire at a classroom. Then DKDKTV came up with maybe Taehyun is the one being bullied and the other four members are imaginary friends he created to cope with his hard times (I like the theory, and it's more elaborate than what I wrote, but I'm still trying to fit everything in there). Then there’s also sth about four of them being dead/having died at the fire and somehow Taehyun wants a spell to bring them back, but I’m usually cautious with those “everybody’s dead” theories. Obviously there’s a lot yet to understand. Like the stuffed animal keychain they kept showing us (though the horns on it takes us back to both "Crown" and "Nap of a Star"), the giant burning door (does it mean there’s no escape to sth or is there more?), the glasses that sets thing on fire (is it only a reference to Harry Potter?), the cut that disappears from Yeonjun’s finger (did it magically heal? Was it never there?). Hope it made some sense. Sorry for making it too long... ☂️💜

Just like with Crown I wasn't blown away but their songs stay with me for a long time. There's something very warm and easy about their sound. 20cm by TXT took my breath away though, if you want to check that out. LION by (G)Idle is also a must!

The song didnt click at first listen like 'crown' but when you go deep & give it a few tries, it's actually a bop.

For real their growth between debut and this comeback both in on screen presence and the sound of their album had me really pleasantly surprised

I loved this album and I loved their debut album but this one was definitely an upgrade TXT Fighting 💜💜

I fell in love with the song the moment the song started! I really liked Crown but 9 3/4 (Run Away) made me stan!

I am super excited to see our boys first comeback, I was starting to think they were going to hold off until next month. For this track titled “Nine and 3/4 Quarters”, is simply known as “Run Away” in english which is their lead track for their first full length comeback album ‘The Dream Chapter: MAGIC’. The music video followed by the album release. I have to admit I’m abit confused since the teasers, especially when they played cat & dog song in the background. I haven’t yet put together the story *scratches head* My biases are Yeonjun, Beomgyu and Kai but I love & support the whole group including Soobin (Sobi) and Taehyun (Tayu)!

The songs from this album are dope! Complete killer!

My theory for the TU, at least for right now, is I think they are in a video game. And either they are moving in and out of this game, like they are playing the game, but somehow also get sucked into it, kinda like jumanji. Or that maybe Soibin is stuck inside of the game, or caused them all to be stuck ( maybe by taking the die with him as shown in Eternally) And isn't telling the others what's going on so instead being able to finish the game, one player always ends up dying, cause them to have to start all over, like on level 1. Hence why you see time going backwords, or "rewind" as they put it....IDK I could be completely wrong, but so much of what is in their MV's is just like a video game.

For me it took a couple of listens to like their songs. I have to get rid my expectations as well as types of songs I’m used to, to realise how much I love their songs. I like trying to open my mind to different sounds and not just stick to listening to one type of music. I don’t want to close my mind to one genre. I realise that every genre has its charm. Edit: To conclude I love them. In my interpretation of the music video is that they’ve ran away to a magical world and burned the door to reality. Like in the beginning they were going to burn the entry way to the other land but they decided to runaway to the magical land. The pool is representative of platform 9 and three quarters in Harry Potter. I feel like in the ending, they’ve decided to stay in “magical land” where all is safe. Basically running away from reality.
