@@menatplaywithballoons7005 Did you happen to realize this is the only negative comment of any kind. Should be informative as well as self reflection. It's ok to grow up and it's for sure ok to hear words you may not choose to say with out letting them effect you in anyway. There is no place you can go in public with out being exposed words you choose not to use it is. Rey easy to train yourself to just ignore them so they don't even register rather then choosing to get triggered by something so insignificant that can only effect you if you let it. Again only negative comment I saw should really be an eye opener and self awareness. Sadly I am sure it likely will go a totally different direction that is more inline with the original negative comment. One can hope so worth a try at least. Wishing only the best always !!!

Ty's circuit landing at 22:30 looked like a ton of fun. An amazing video altogether Trent. One of your best.

Trying to understand how TY accomplished side-slip on his landing? Are those ‘flap-erons’? Can you roll wings with those? Agree … Great Skills here!
@scottbeyer101
@scottbeyer101 Год назад
@@stevegyro1 I've watched this section several times now. I practise PO180 to land as often as possible, so forward slipping is something I get special joy out of. But I've never done them without 40 degree flaps (PA-28). Ty's wing looks pretty clean on the round out. What gives?
@stevegyro1
@stevegyro1 Год назад
@@scottbeyer101 dunno for certain. Notice the larger gap between trailing edge each wing, and lead edge of each flap, on these ‘Kit Fox’ experimentals. I’ve notice this design on other LSA or experimental A/C. May act like ‘VG’s’, keeping more smooth air over flap surface +. This would make more effective at lower speeds, imho. Think his ‘side slip’ in video was for the ‘camera’ for dramatic affect. Side slipping is to adjust for crosswinds, as you know. There did not appear to be any crosswinds from viewing his flare and roll-out. Btw, what is your altitude loss in a PO180 in your PA28? My maule (MXT-7) averages 850-900 ft loss.
@scottbeyer101
@scottbeyer101 Год назад
@@stevegyro1 We side-slip (crab) for Xwind. The forward slip is for dropping like a rock but WITHOUT a commensurate airspeed gain. Couple weeks ago (when we had all the smoke here) the pattern was empty and tower gave me repeated "short approach" clearance. Abeam the numbers, idle power at 1000AGL and pull up for best glide. Then nose down for base turn for a 1/8 to 1/4 mile final. Once runway is assured, full flaps, bank hard with nose WAY down base to final. Once roughly aligned (and WAY to high) aileron into the x-wind, full opposite rudder, and a hearty nose down attitude. This way, you can peg the VSI (2000ft/min) and only be doing 80kts. The entire side fuselage and vertical stab act like a speed brake. Maules look like awesome planes. Which model you got?

Watching Men turn into boys again.. 😎👊😁 lol! This is the 3rd time I "went along" with you, this still is one of my favorite Annual events it is turning in and LOVE the terrain over there.. it is Stunning!! And although I do not love the 360° (people clearly do not use it at or on the right moments I guess) but when flying through the canyons.. that camera shows the most the height/ depth perception and it is So so beautiful.. Wished, after I flew once as a introduction and I had to fly over a long strip of thermal and automatically flew that Piper (do not know what model, 4 persons and used by the owner/instructor to teach) through it and at the end of the day after 4 hours of flying (all flew their allowed time + a lunch, the instructor came to me only and wanted very much to teach me all of it.. I was the only one of all he did the checklist, I saw a berm fire along the way and he wanted me to alert the tower, all of that kind of things, I used automatically my hands and feet when flying and the others, not to tut my horn (is that how it's said? English isn't my first language) but they made me even almost sick when they were flying 😁 I to this day still do not understand why a instructor almost begged me to get to learn and fly.. It was just meant to be a little good time day amongst us as friends and the good man really wanted me in his team.. not the others which made me feel bad for them but I really wonder if that is the way they get students? Is that it? Could someone affirm that? Because I wonder if I made a crucial mistake back then.. In my Country they take people on to a certain age and I have never known that. I found out about that when I seriously was looking to go that route again because I couldn't then.. And that is what I told the instructor, it was litteraly the wrong time. And now.. I am Just over the age limit and I absolutely regret not taking on the advice of the instructor.. So I still wonder why he singled me out, was it something I could have pursued to go and fly big at some time.. was it something I had a talent for? It still fascinates me, I follow many channels and I still look back fondly and remember every little thing of that flight ☺ And that is why I follow Trent very fondly, his camera angles are fantastic and beautiful! Love it all! 👌👊😎

We have a 3 to 4 hour stretch of road from Tsitsikamma to Mosselbay called the garden route (by road) that is absolutely stunning that I like to refer to as the garden of Eden in South Africa. From what I saw in this episode I think there there must be more than one Garden of Eden on this planet. Absolutely stunning visuals. That formation landing was epic. Take care of yourself Trent. Interesting is that most skin cancers are found on the right hand side of our faces and arms in South Africa oposite to you fellas as we drive on the right hand side of the car (left hand side of the road). Flying on the other hand is obviously international on the left for fixed wing. I always make it a point to wear a cap during the day on my bald head. My pops had to have cancer cut out and that did not look good at all. I hope to skip that. Kind regards.

I live in California, and so far my worst skin cancer bit (that need procedure and stitches and dressings) was on the left side of my face. I'm more conscious now of trying to use the sun visor in my car. Some of the newer cars actually have extensions on the sun visor for more coverage. And for the guys who wear baseball caps, their ears aren't protected.

Hi Trent, I agree and echo all the comments about the high quality of this video. I have been a subscriber to your channel for many years. I live in Boise and about 3/4 done on my Kitfox S7 Super Sport. I grew up in McCall, so the back country was a part of me before it got famous. My first flight was in a Cessna 180 at age 14 into Campbell’s Ferry on the main Salmon above MacKay Bar. I have flown into Big Creek, Johnson Creek, Landmark, Chamberlain Basin, Warren, among others 25 years ago in a 182 after suitable instruction. My goal is to take my Kitfox in when I get it done. This video was a real treat letting me see country that is in my DNA. Especially Cabin Creek. I have a huge concern about the “Big Creek Four”. Although these are not for me, I am concerned that due to their popularity, they my be taken from us, even as emergency landing strips. Maybe you can use your channel to help counter this. Keep up the good work on your high quality videos!!

I've really missed these videos, thank you so much Trent for taking us along. While I'd love to have my own plane and see these places first hand, physical limitations make that possibility pretty slim. I love getting to see the back country and natures beauty!

Fun to watch Ty crabbing in and straiten just before touching his wheels down, sweet, nice! I did dry-needling on my left calf muscle/connective tissue. It really works, amazing improvement after the first treatment. It's illegal in Cali but I found a PT at a VA Hospital who would do it for me (it's legal on federal land and property, so screw Cali laws). Your vids are the best Trent, haven't seen one in a while but seeing this one I remembered what was so good about them all along. 👍🏻

Just a word to the wise, "WEAR SUNSCREEN" yes, totally lifted that from the class of 97 speech found here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MQlJ3vOp6nI.html But I also noticed that you came back with the same arm and side of your face darker and you already found out, as I did, how deep they cut on something questionable, so it is a good idea for anyone who has had a questionable something removed. That includes me, 10 years ago and so far, no more "questionable" stuff with sunscreen.

Watching this video while working on my tennis elbow, doing some stretches for tight back, wondering why my ankle hurts lately for no reason, all this thinking, damn, is age catching up with me ... and you start talking about your stuff and health going down hill. Precious moment :DDD

Reminds me of when I went to an amusement park with a GF when I was a teen. I went on the roller coaster of death. Got off feeling nauseous. She asked "are you okay"? Me trying to be macho said "I'm good". Just to prove to her I was the man, We went on another dizzying ride. I fought so hard not to upchuck... Dry heaving for like 5 minutes over a trash can after the second ride. She laughed her ass off that I was crazy enough to keep pushing it. But That's how we pilot types roll... Always pushing beyond what a regular guy would. Good job man!

Hi Trent, That is just a beautiful trip that you shared. It would be very hard to leave though. I can't believe it's been two years since your last visit there. Time really flies the older you become... (61yo). You think thirties are rough, forty five plus will be a real treat LOL. Just try to enjoy the journey along the way. That poor dog...alcohol had to be involved. Take care, Be safe.

You don’t travel with coffee? As a coffee addict, I can’t even fathom doing that.😎 Wait ‘til you hit your late ‘60’s if you think you are falling apart now! Or maybe talk to Leonard Millholland….

Dry needling is something I never planned on doing but I’m so glad as it works great! It may not feel the greatest in the moment but it helps a lot! That last approach almost looked like you were filming an RC plane or something along those lines.

ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XKhJM3RjFK8.html The box scraper could have been brought in by mule. Mules were used to haul all sorts of things. They were cheap. They were reliable. I've been told that if a mule doesn't want to carry a load, it won't. If it is willing to carry the load, it will take care of it. Not like horses. Sometimes that meant they might not make it back from the haul, especially if they had a really heavy load. I once was told of a mule that carried a water tank up Mt. San Jacinto in southern California to a wilderness campground around 9,000 ft. Supposedly the tank was 500 lbs. The box scraper looks to be a lot lighter.
