Guitarist, singer and songwriter, Ty Tabor of the legendary rock band King's X. In part six, Ty talks about his many solo albums and side projects he has recorded in his studio, Alien Beans.
I have loved these guys since their 2nd album. Their music is a staple in my life and listening. I don't understand why more people don't get it, but I am done thinking about it and just happy that they make me happy and that I found them. Also stoked I was able to create a CD cover for one of Doug's CDs. My proudest moment. Great series. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I second the guy that mentioned how great Jughead is! A little bummed it didn't get a mention here, but I love your solo work. "Rock Garden" and "Something's Coming" are awesome!
Funny isn't it sometimes how someone makes a comment; "Aw, he didn't mention Christianity". Maybe that's because the interview is not about Christianity. It's about how Ty got started, a kind of brief bio of did this did that until i got to this. BTW he is a christian.
Surprised that there's no mention of Platypus. "When Pus Comes To Shove" and "Ice Cycles" are two of my favorite albums, two records that I would consider as GREAT MUSIC.
I'm italian and to understand english when has spoken it's hard to me, but seems isn't talkin' about Balance album....by the way Ty is a genius, i can recognize him at the first chord!!
Ty's solo albums vary... i tended not to like Safety because it was obviously the work of somebody struggling through some real depression, but the first couple of solo albums along with Trip Magnet and Nobody Wins When Nobody Plays are pretty awesome, I've also been enjoying the Platypus albums lately.
Ironic how after all these "interviews" Christianity never gets a mention, hmmmmm? I've been a musician/fan for 20+ years, had the joy of meeting the band at several different venues, yada yada yada. Ty, really? Nothing??? C'mon man, I had a horrible divorce too.
