Whoa boy! I used to have this track! I had some blurry memoriies (I was 5 or 6 years old when my parents bought me this for christmas! I knew it actually existed and was not some meade up memory! Man I remember everytihing! The T-Rex with the huge magnet, the little raptor cutouts, everything! Thanks a lot for bringing up some happy memories man!
I use lifelike track but purchased a sick dinosaur online and then got it to work. I have the pickup and it does work as the Dino picks it up. Now there is a small metal plate glued under the truck hood so the Dino’s magnetic teeth can pick it up. So I glued small metal plates to a few other cars and now the Dino eats them too. Need a strong battery as the Dino eats them too.
Wow! Thanks! for sharing!, Slot Cars are from my childhood from the 1960's I was born in 1955. I love sets made from movies & TV shows. This set looks like fun!, too bad it was not made a little better! They did a great job on the box art! Our H.O. Sets where well made!, Oh well!, David from Ca.
+Disneyfan1955 Thanks very much. It was fun. I think things like the magnet coming off were just from the age - glue cannot hold forever I guess - lol. Still like these better than some of the newer stuff though. Thanks so much for watching!
Oh man... I remember this set. I had as a kid, for like a day. Lol what happened was my parents bought it for me from Toys R' Us and I guess it was a returned product and they had put it back on the shelf to resell it and when we got it home and tried putting it together it was missing pieces so we had to take it back the same day we got it. I was so sad lol I've been trying to track one of these down online forever. Glad you found one! Great video! You've got a new subscriber too!
I find it sad that TYCO no longer makes stuff like this, I had TYCO slot cars as a kid and they worked so much better than the new slot cars you buy from the company "auto world" , TYCO had pretty solid products and their stuff actually ran well. Now if you want a decent slot car set you have to go to 1/32 scale and get either a scalextric or carrera set.
I got this for Christmas, but my mom returned it because she got mad when I complained it didn't work. Looking back at now it's pretty boring to be honest, but I'm pretty sure the commercial made it look really exciting
I'm going to work on finding more. So far we have A-Team, Dukes of Hazzard, and Jurassic Park. I'm working on getting Knight Rider. Wish I had kept all those old Sears catalogs that had all the slot car sets in the toy section.
