This video will teach you to tye a worm pattern to flyfish for bass and bigger fish. It is tied just as a plastic worm Texas rig would be, very similar to senko worms of plastic, however it has way more action and movement than you can get with plastic baits. This pattern is bulky enough you could fish with traditional fishing methods as well, but crazy effective fly fishing pattern. The best part is it is super easy and cheap to tye. You can go to any department store and get the materials required. It goes back to my logic, if you search flytying materials can be sourced everywhere.

My obsession is saltwater fly fishing. I live in Connecticut and access several saltwater spots. My favorite fish is False Albacore. Spin fisherman have a plastic lure that looks very similar to this tie that is very effective at snaring Albies. It uses a plastic lure and similar hooks. I will track down the materials you used in this. Wrapping the material is genius. I also love my old Renzetti trailer. I recently bought a Regal vise and do not understand why so many tiers love it. The Renzetti is what I reach for. Like the colors of your vice.

Renzetti is my favorite I have used so far. I have tied a lot of flies on that vise and its always been good to me.

Really cool DIY! I don't tie or fly fish, but I like this type of out of the box lure/bait making that's cheap and easy. But something I really like about this is no plastic. The irony of guys using soft plastics, filling lakes and rivers with garbage that's killing fish and wasting them, is aggravating. I'm no hippie, but millions of pounds of lost plastics polluting the waters is nuts. And they are forever. Bio plastics only break down into smaller pieces that are even worse. So something like this that is durable and way less likely to break-off is much better and MUCH cheaper!

I never thought of the breakdown of materials benefit of these compared to plastics. They provide so much more action compared to plastic baits, being safer for the waters is just a plus. Thank you for watching and for your feedback.

I saw some really fat yarn like that at a hobby store. I was thinking it would be good just tied right to the hook eye on a football head jig. Might look good bottom bouncing. I was thinking something stinky like garlic oil or Anise oil or Herring oil. Put a little in a zip top bag with some yarn worms and massage it around to lightly coat them.

I have some fishing buddies who get these off of me instead of rubber worms. They say it holds scents better and provides way more action in the water. When they get wet they get heavy so they are easy to cast with traditional tackle then.

What was the brand of chenille? My concern is that most hobby chenille has a cotton core and does not meld well when burned. Whatever you are using seems to work, so I would like to know the brand. Thanks.

I just bought the Mainstay brand at Walmart and it seemed to do alright with the burning. Also made the mistake of not paying attention and bought the chunk chenille... it works but it makes a very fat worm. I'll see how it works on Thursday.

I use the mainstay brand, or berdan. Those two don't the best.
