Tying an Impressionist Dun Dry Fly with Davie McPhail 

Brilliant looking fly pattern

Tied and tried some of these on the Nevada side of the Truckee River. Which has it's best dry fly fishing mid-winter. I must have been blessed with good Karma and hit the BWO hatch perfectly. Caught a nice rainbow on my 2nd cast. Followed by more until the hatch stopped an hour later. Thanks for the great pattern.

Fantastic pattern

The Ultra Yarn does have a shaggy look and I noticed the glistening when I was fishing it. But I really think that shaggy look gives the impression of movement. I'll try the open wraps of CDC. That looks fantastic.

Minimalist, interesting. I wonder if tying silk would help, I might try it. 😊
