You have just saved my life I’m so picky about my shoelace, drawstring, swimsuit, bows, have been trying to find out how to do the perfect bow on my clothes for EVER and you’ve figured it out! Thank you a million times, you’ve saved me countless minutes of tying and and untying, re tying and tying again😂

I honestly just tried this and it was so awkward, but the more I did not it works. I too like you have been tying my shoes wrong and I am going to try this so my laces do not come undone!! Thank you

Great quick-tip video, Kristina! I struggle with bows like many others, especially with bakers twine, which always seems to get twisted. I'll have to give this a try and see if my bows improve AND my twine doesn't twist. Tfs!

Kristina, I must have seen that video that you mentioned because a few months back I started tying my shoelaces differently. As I went for my daily walk, I was getting annoyed at my shoelaces "tickling" the top of my ankle. When I watched the video, I realized that a simple, yet awkward at first, change would make a huge difference in my life - in exercising and in crafting! As I tie my shoes more and more thus way it feels a little less awkward. When you tie a bow, after the first tie, look to see which piece is on "top" and that is the piece to go over the loop.

KRISTINA! As soon as I watched your video I tried making this not and I figured something that might help everyone that learned exactly like you to tie shoe laces, including me! In the first part, left thread going over the right, instead of coming from the bottom, try to come from the top (position your left thread on the top and the right on the bottom). I hope this is clear! Then the second part is exactly like we learned... and the bow ends straightly aligned! So cute! Thank you so much!.

great job! The only input I would have is if you could have your right side and left string different colors it would be easier to describe. You could achieve this by taking two colors of bakers twine and knotting them in the back of the object which you are tying around

Thank you. Thank you for this video. I'm in the process of tying bows for my wedding. Anyway I was following another vid and it was taking me 30 minutes just to do three bows. Since they constantly needed adjusting. I decided to check out your video and I got the bow right the first time. No adjustments needed.

It was akward for me too that's why I just turn my project around and tie my bows upside down (like tying my shoe since when you think about it we tie our shoes to have the bow lay away from us). Good tip on trying a new way! :)

Thank you, I always tie a bow on my painted mason jars and I have it glue the bow down, since it goes sideways all the time. And a sideways bow looks ridiculous! Such a simple trick but it worked.

Another easy way to do it would be turning the book upside down after the first knot.. and then continuing with the 2nd knot.. I discovered this while I was trying your tip.. thanks :)

My uncle taught me to tie a bow like this a long time ago. It's called a square knot if you make it a knot instead of a bow, thanks for showing!

This was on 'Ted Talks' as it applies to shoelaces. After I seeing it, I stared tying my shoes this way, and honestly!, they don't come untied. I didn't even realize that using this method also creates great decorative bows.

My mother taught me years ago.....right over left and under......left over right and under. It gives a perfect bow every time. Basically like you do it but it seems less awkward.

Looks all good on a video...lol but, my problem is that my string, thread whatever LOOSENS after i finish tying the bow and it's too big and falls off the card front. I even tried putting a glue dot under the string ... I'm still a LOSER at it. 😯
