Some great things I'd not thought about with cowstails! And apparently I have the wrong 'biners...(as far as the catching issue, I have locking ones). My long one is just made for the right height for my upper ascender (hand jammer I think you call 'em) though and the short is...I dunno how long. I liked how you explained the distances too though, that is not something I'd heard!
You can use lees rope ejem use for me the best cowtail. Joanet/ Juanito knot. Find these and coment please. You can use in ring, ir carabiner. Is more eficient than doublefisherman knot.
@@leechjim8023 I’m not clear on what you mean here. To clarify these locking biners are fully rated load bearing versions, but with the addition of a no notch version on the nose to help things be smooth for clipping.
The claim that you shouldn't use non-lockers is bullshit. Screw gates jam with mud, get stuck partially closed, and are simply unnecessary. If someone is genuinely that concerned about needing a locking gate, they should get a Grivel twin-gate biner.
