In the video, I focus on the club's path, hand path, and the importance of the arc. I delve deep into understanding the takeaway and downswing, especially around the crucial hip-high area where we make contact with the ball. I highlight the common pitfalls many golfers fall into, like unnecessary forearm rotation and not aligning correctly with the swing plane. To combat these issues, I introduce a hands-on drill using alignment sticks. This drill provides a visual aid, helping golfers maintain the right plane and ensuring a consistent arc throughout the swing. My main aim is to equip golfers to hit straighter shots, emphasizing that golf operates in a circular motion rather than straight lines.

I love your technical approach to the swing. It’s a much different perspective than what’s out there today. I know that everyone learns differently but I thrive on this type of teaching. Keep up the great work!

i enjoyed the video and info. i did a similar thing with my practice mat at home, i took a felt tip pen and drew a target line and then another line about 20 degrees inside that to swing on and this really helped me. when i golf i just try to visualize it and it helps. thnx for the help and i've been following alot of your vids.

I love that! Thanks so much for sharing! Having visuals on the ground in practice I think are huge! I like the way you are also using it more on the finish side as well working on where you want to get to! Keep it up and thanks for the info, comment and support!

Great video Trevor, thanks! I struggle with coming over the top on the downswing, especially with the longer clubs (driver, fairway woods). You mentioned in a previous comment the downswing sequence is pelvis, ribs, shoulders, club, then arms. Does the shallowing move come first in the downswing? Also any tips for the shallowing move? Thank you
@tsgolf
@tsgolf 3 месяца назад
So the pelvis, lead knee and lead foot set a brake basically that allows the trail side of the body to work into and around! I’ll attach a video link for creating arm / forearm structure to keep the club on plane (shallow).

Think I'm gaining on it. Guess I need to figure out a "feel" for timing the side bend that apparently needs to match up with getting that left hip out of the way - instead of EEing or "tilting back". The drills I've tried to date have me looking up (my head's face and eyes looking) and to the left of that big building instead of at the ball. Just more drilling, I guess. . .
@brandonhamilton4596
@brandonhamilton4596 9 месяцев назад
I’m in the exact same spot. I was EEing and tilting back at impact. Now I have to feel my torso does a more level turn, but it’s been all thin shots, or fat when I really try and focus on the side bend. Let me know if you figure it out!

Happy to help anyway I can! Make sure firstly the EE isn’t coming from setup. One of the biggest places I see it start

@@tsgolf Some superficial pondering has me guessing that this might include a weak grip and the hands "not ahead" maybe. Or, maybe too upright in posture?
@tsgolf
@tsgolf 9 месяцев назад
@@mntlblok make sure that there is enough bend from the mid spine (rib cage area). The grip can be matched up with flexion of the wrist and minimizing forearm pronation of the lead arm

How would you suggest doing this at a range with mats?
@tsgolf
@tsgolf 8 месяцев назад
Place a few baskets on top of each other behind ball line to use a 3-D visual aide for the club direction. That’d be my best bet off of a mat

Great information! Question: how to control the top of back swing? I have a tendency of over swinging… Thanks!
@tsgolf
@tsgolf 9 месяцев назад
Allow the pelvis to be the last thing that moves to the top vs the arms and hands. Sequence will be arms, club, shoulders, rib cage and then pelvis to the top
@jiaweiwang6994
@jiaweiwang6994 9 месяцев назад
@@tsgolf makes sense, thanks Trevor! Downswing sequence will be opposite? Also what about some early left hip moving forward and down before final completion of the backswing?
@tsgolf
@tsgolf 9 месяцев назад
@@jiaweiwang6994 downswing will be the opposite (pelvis first, etc). You can increase pressure into the lead side in transition or we can get that pressure from P3-P4 moving that direction early so we can use it early

I seem to hit my best shots when I focus mostly on keeping my shoulders rotating on a plane than is 90 degrees to my spine. But ... the driver (of course) 🙃introduces a problem for me, because I'm putting more secondary axis tilt into that setup, and this causes me to initially have trouble sensing how to properly rotate, especially initially. If I'm only leaning forward, okay. I can rotate on plane, because I can sense where it is. But if I'm leaning forward, and also tilting a bit more than normal toward the trail side (the driver, again) I seem to get a bit spatially confused, if that makes sense. Any advice or tips in this area would be appreciated.
@tsgolf
@tsgolf 8 месяцев назад
My guess would be that you are a bit off balance at address w/ how the spine is positioned (likely to much pelvic tilt making you too heavy). This can cause a stand up, secondary tilt when trying to just focus on turning parallel to your spine. Here is a vid on setup that might help I’ll attach below:
