this simple process using a loop tyer means that you can easily tie rigs to the correct length for your rig sticks and boxes perfect everytime. Also at the end I show how to use a loop tyer using string, so it's easier to see on camera.

What you need is a fly tying vice. Holds the hook in place and makes the whole process a LOT easier!

I have one of those! It's like having a 3rd hand👌. And a gizmo zt pro hook tying station 😁. But I thought I would show it in a way anyone can do with minimal tackle 😊.

Nice one. I’ve tried and tried to use a loop Tyier. With nil success, you’ve just made it clearer.

Glad I could help Colin. That was my plan to make a few videos to help the odd person out. I'm quite busy at the moment, but when I get time I'm planning to do more similar videos, so make sure you subscribe 😁

Excellent video! I’m new-ish to fishing and had been thinking about tying my own hook lengths but wasn’t sure where to start. This has inspired me to give it a go, thank you. 😊

Thank you. Have you watched my other video? It shows you how to use the loop tyer in detail using a bit of string so that it's easier to see on camera. I'm also going to make more videos, like "how to make a cheap pole rig tying board" and "how to make a pole rig using your top kit". So make sure you subscribe ☺️

Other way to do it is knock the nail in from the other side (using a slightly bigger nail than the one you intend to use if making a 'moveable' rig board - nice work though.

Thanks for the video. I find it’s much easier to form the loops if you wet the line with saliva as this tends to cause them to stick together.

Thank you Don! Yeah the teeth definitely help! 😁. I do have more videos planned soon, it's just when I can fit them in lol. I'm hoping to get some footage from a match I have soon. And also going to make a video on "how to make a pole rig board for under £10" ☺️. So keep an eye out 👍😁.

Really good video and unedited which I like as these things aren’t easy. When would you use 2”, on a method feeder? I’ve only ever used 4”
@iangrabham692
@iangrabham692 Месяц назад
Thank you. I would use it when I think fish are picking up the hookBait and spitting it out before they come in contact with the weight of the feeder to set the hook. So on a 4" hooklength the fish has more movement and chance to feel the hook and spit in out before the slack is taken up. A 2" hooklength they suck the hookbait up and the slightest of movements and they are already in contact with the weight of the feeder. I would say 80% of the time a 4" hooklength is the best to use. But if there are points where you think the fish are eating the pellets off the feeder without actually getting any takes ( constant twiches on the tip, but no actual pickups) then try a 2" one and it can be night nad day difference 👌😁. Hope this makes sense. Any questions just ask 👍😊.

use a gate needle far easier jon arthur video on short hooklenghts
@iangrabham692
@iangrabham692 2 года назад
Yeah they do make it easier to tie short rigs. But I find that using a gate needle you can't always get them millimetre perfect to fit on the pegs of rig boxes. I find this way they are perfect everytime ☺️

@@iangrabham692 Once you’ve got your figure of eight loops using a gate needle you then use your loop tyre for the desired size of loop to fit on peg in hook length box Taking nothing away from what you have shown in your video but I find the gate needle far more easier watch Jon Arthur video how to tie short hook link’s 👍

I tried dozen of time and every time loop is toooo small. How to make it bigger.
@iangrabham692
@iangrabham692 2 года назад
What sort of size is the loop coming out when you do it len? I will have to measure the loop, but I think they come out about 8-10mm which is spot on for loop to loop on pole rigs, and will fit on most feeder quick change beads, unless you have really big ones.

Why not use the hook tyer to do the whole job, that what it's designed for, no need then to twist it in your hands.
@iangrabham692
@iangrabham692 2 года назад
Which part do you mean sorry? The loop at the very end I'm only creating the two loops with my hands, I'm twisting it with the loop Tyer.
@mickyoungs4610

@@iangrabham692 lan hold the 2in hook link between ya finger and thumb down at the hook end. Then with your index finger on the same hand put it in the other end of the loop of the double line now. Place the double line over the back of the hook tyer and twist the tyer twice. Then the small loop left on ya finger place in between the two grooves on the tyer and pull tight on the hook link at the hook end. Your loop and knot is now almost done. With the tyer in one hand and the hook length in other hand, pull upwards on the hook link and it will slip off the tyer, leaving the loop still on the tyer, remove the loop from the peg and ya done. Takes a bit of practice to get it right every time.

Вы не умеете правильно пользоваться петлевязом , а то , что вы им делали , легче сделать обычным крючком для вязания.
