Thank you for your videos. I just bought our first boat, a 21' Wellcraft recently (used) and know nothing! LOL.. Fortunately she is in the shop for the next 3 weeks or so allowing me to "LEARN" more about what I must know. I've done the online boating courses etc. However, nothing is better than having someone like yourself breaking it down with clarity. Thanks again. Subscribed and will keep watching and learning.
Interesting. In 55 years of boating I have never tied to a pier .It is usually wharfs that float up and down with the tides in this corner of western Canada. Different things to think about.
Wayne I don’t know if you got my message but I saw one of your videos and I happened to notice that you had 2+4s holding your Tarp up on your boat iam having trouble keeping my tarp on my boat any way that you can show me on one of your videos have you did that
I am subscriber. So should not give any negative. Bit if you got your tying up your boat from the Chapman Piloting book i am. Ot buying. I would not tie off ti the cleats that way. Of course this is on ICW. Also the weight works OK. In very stormy conditions not sure the best idea. Tying off to clear you should start on the opposite side of the direction the ripe is going. And wrap around once before the looping. I know there are a hundred ways to tie up boat. No offense these methods were new. Good idea to have ropes twice length of boat Coil the extra rope up
Yeah I look back and realize my techniques are not correct for some things that I do - I am still "new" and a year later I am STILL trying to tie off correctly because it takes practice and sometimes I follow the saying "If you can't tie a knot, tie A LOT!"
@@WayneTheBoatGuy i have been at boating for 40 years. Do not know much as of yet. What helps. Have a decal for all the makers in water. And a decal that shows how to tie off boat. So I still have to cheat LOL
