I think she wasn’t giving her best performance bc the African American community does not support her. I’ve seen her perform before and this was good but she’s actually done way better than this.

I find it particularly interesting and I’ll always bring this example up. Not that you should compare the two, they are different artists in their respective rights but their come up is similar enough. They love love Rihanna(me 2 that’s my queen), so much so they think she is one of them when in reality she was in the same precarious situation Tyla is in. An immigrant trying to make it big. It’s a shame really that identity politics are trying to hamper Tyla’s hard work and it’s not even her fault. Trying to cancel a girl because of who she is ? Well talent always wins in the end, so she’ll be just fine.

African artists that crossover to the American music industry, are marketed to the Black community & for the most part.
