Tyla took part in LADbible's Snack Wars, as she tested some of the UK's best foods against meals from South Africa, including sausage rolls and beef jerky.
The 'Water' pop star tasted jam tarts and showed off her perfect British accent before comparing her childhood cereal to a UK classic.

@@Daniel-qu2kh they either tone it down or crank it to 11 and start shouting angrily when you cant understand what they say (from experience working in a hotel, a lot of south african visitors go full on with there accents and will cause a scene if you ask them to "repeat that please" it once got one waitress fired from our staff)

As a South African who now lives in Britain and who enjoys both South African AND British snacks (and has eaten all of the above) I totally agree with all of Tyla’s picks (except for koeksusters - I LOVE koeksusters). I do think they could have got a better example of a sausage roll though 😂

South African food is very seasoned, even the sweet snacks has strong flavors. Nandos is a South African brand, that should give you an indication how we like our food.

They are! Yes, ok, £7 for a box of those Easter eggs is ludicrous, but we can get them here. I'm about to have some biltong now (again, very expensive, but really good!). You can get koeksisters, milktart, peppermint crisp, etc, but yeah, it's expensive.

That sausage roll needs sending back why didn't you get one from greggs ? and why pick a cereal that has no flavour whatever ?. They removed the good sugary taste from the wheat puffs so there was no competition

Then she shouldn't be in a show that is literally about "trying food". And it's edible stuff, not poison. She might not like the taste, there might be new spices but she isn't going to die. No one can beat South African food. Anywhere. I have friends and colleagues in the US, all over parts of Europe, have family that's in Australia and the one thing that everyone agrees on, is that no one comes close to South african food or snacks. It's what they miss most.

maybe she was raised by good parents, with honesty and faith? so refrreshing to see a good people in music industry...so many artists are just a mess...drinking, partying, smoking, drugging, going crazy, to the point its not fun anymore. i hope she has a good manager and record label, who aims for healthy lifestyle, not just money and worthless fame where nobody really knows the "celebrity".
