I find it hard to believe that this is on the same album as a 6 minute song about Taco Bell.

Other than the unsettling sound effects, I find this version is the most emotional.

It's weird how old this song actually is

Ok but can we talk about the creaking all through the video? It's similar to the sound of a tree branch creaking when something is hanging off it, like a tyre swing or a person hanging from a rope. Obviously while writing this song, Tyler was in a suicidal stage in his life, and this song was a cry for help. Also, you can hear the pain in his voice as he sings. I'm so happy that he's happier now, and didn't do anything drastic in the bad times. Look how far he's come! I'm honestly so proud.

I actually started crying because of how young Tyler was when he wrote this and now it's one of his hit singles

for the people that don't understand, this is the original. it was remade later on. here, tyler is singing about himself, while in the new one, it's technically blurryface trying to work his way back into tyler's life.

This is basically the sadder goner. In the newer one Tyler sounds happier, and I'm pretty sure nobody can sit through without screaming (you know the part) while in this one i dont think anyone wants to do that

This is the original goner, it coincides with heavydirtysoul (blast from the past, or shall I say blasphemy from the past...no?okay.) now it's the blurryface goner so if you think about it, goner, the end track on the album(blurryface) loops around to the first track on blurryface which is Heavydirtysoul. Knowledge, amarite?

Guys, this is from the solo album from Tyler, "No phun intended", relaesed in 2007. They created a video from the same song that you listened now in 2012. And then they officialy put this song, now renamed as "Goner", on the Blurryface album.

Starting at 1:59 you can kinda hear the beginning of "Heavydirtysoul" "I'm a Goner" from no phun intended was kinda changed to "Goner" from Blurryface, right? And on the Blurryface album, "Heavydirtysoul" is true first song and "Goner" is last. ... i dONT KNOW WHAT IT MEANS ITS JUST WEIRD AND WHAT IS IT WITH THE ROPE SOUNDS LIKE SERIOUSLY IM SCARED

This is Tyler's favorite song to listen to and I think it's because he redid it and it bring back some memories.

aw man this is my first time hearing this of not knowing this version of goner has ever existed and gives me chills to hear the sound of like a body hanging of a tree and imagine the worst for tyler, and his voice sound so like a lament. it surprises me too the sounds of heavydirtysoul at the end. but left me with rare feelings

to be honest, i kinda even prefer this version to Goner. Feels more like the last cry for help, before he runs out of breath. The desperation combined with the creaking sends chills don my spine.

This one honestly gets me more than the blurryface version. Just the thought of what was going through Tyler’s head at the time. Thank god he stayed alive ||-//

when i hear that intro, with that accordion with those unsetling chords, as you hear a tree branch sway as if a noose was tied on it... i dont know man, it just gets me. its like I FEEL something in my throat.

The cracking in the background makes me think Josh Dun is in the background trying to eat chips quietly but in reality it is super loud. Maybe I'm delusional but after the first "I wanna be know by you" I can hear Tyler make a little noise like he's on the verge of tears and it really breaks my heart. I love this song so much.

The creaking sound in the background kept giving me chills and I just felt super uneasy every time I heard it and then I saw the comments of people comparing it to the sound of someone hanging from a noose from a tree and I felt sick to my stomach cause a girl I knew hanged herself a few years ago in her front yard.

Y’know that taste you get in the back of your throat when you’re scared or anxious, and how bad it hurts like you have to cry but can’t? That’s how I felt listening to this song, imagining Tyler singing this whilst hanging from a tree with a n00se around his neck😖 [Yes, I know it’s an accordion before y’all start] It’s rare I actually feel something when listening to a song, but this one and many other TØP songs hit me a little too hard🥲

It’s been awhile since I’ve been interested in tøp but I was scrolling around things I used to listen to and I forget how much pleading to God Tyler has in his solo album. I feel like I have religious doubts a lot and I feel like his religious influence isn’t talked about much but it’s comforting knowing someone had those same doubts and writes about them.

if this is the actual recording from 2007/08 this means that blurryface was being planned when this was being recorded or possibly even before those sound effects at the end are the same ones at the beginning of heavydritysoul

This whole song feels like a jumpscare

I just realized: Goner is the anti-Trees. Three versions of each song from three different eras. Trees always closes their live shows. Goner closed Blurryface. Trees is saying hello. Goner is saying goodbye.

It's not creaking from an accordion but background static meant to make it sound as if you're listening to a phonograph. My two cents. At least I still have my car radio.

Ever get that feeling when you're just listening to a song and trying your very hardest to get happy, and then they find a song that reminds them of someone you love, and everything just stops and you get chills that rest on the top of your head and you want to cry but you can't? Just me? *OKAY*

This version will always be better than the new one. I'm glad their making actual new music now and not just edits of old songs that weren't once famous
