My kids actually attend the school right across the street from this property. On their first day of school I was looking like “OMG who live there and is this really someone actual home?” Then my son said that way Tyler Perry’s home. I was impressed to say the least.

Fun facts: Perry’s estate was assigned its own zip code. If it were an incorporated city it would be the sixth largest in the state. Tyler Perry is the largest private land owner east of the Mississippi with this estate, his Tyler Perry Studios (the grounds of which is the decommissioned Ft McPherson Army Post). Six Flags Over GA theme park and Six Flags White Water can nestle comfortably within his property. Since the posting of this video another runway was added with plans for a third in the near future. Tyler Perry wanted to assign designator TPS to his airport (one runway is an airstrip, two is a field, while three or more is an airport) that code was taken. His second choice, too, was rejected by IATA (The International Air Transport Association) because BMH (Big Momma’s House) was too similar to Birmingham’s [AL] BHM. When complete, the estate will require upwards of 200 full time staff to maintain year round. The completed project will have an 18 hole golf course designed by Tom Favio in partnership with Kanye West. Rick Ross was tapped to oversee design of the pool, which will be 351,000 gallons (ousting Mr Ross as largest private pool owner in the US). Not bad for a guy who was broke in the late 90’s, living out of his car.
