Tyler Perry and his longtime girlfriend Gelila Bekele have ended their relationship. The movie mogul dropped the hint about his split on Instagram on December 17, posting, "This is what a midlife crisis looks like. I'm 51, single, and wondering what the next chapter in my life will look like. Whatever it looks like I'm going to walk with God, be the best father and man I can be, hold my head up high, and try to look my best doing it." The former couple began dating in 2007 and share one son named Aman Tyler, whom they welcomed in December 2014.

It's hard to say. Maybe Tyler, or his son's mother, has a fear of total commitment....or maybe he's afraid of being legally forced to give up half of his fortune if they split after marriage....or maybe there is an element to the story that we just don't know as "outsiders". It's hard to say, but I can see why you'd ask that question. I remember him saying that he's a Christian and suggesting that he lives by the bible, which would easily lead one to believe that he'd be more likely to marry than to "shack up" for years out of wedlock. Whatever the reason, I hope he finds what he's in search of as he moves forward with his life.

A 17-year age gap between the both which sounds like to me it was more about lust then love in this relationship which ultimately brought about a child into the world. Tyler Perry, 45, and girlfriend Gelila Bekele, 28 who was together for what appears to be a little over five years. All this nonsense about him being gay is a bunch of just that nonsense. Gelila undoubtedly wanted to be married like most women. However, Tyler has much more to lose being married than just fathering a child which he can support and be there for this child on a moment’s notice. This is the price one pays when wealth out weights love, because in the ends as a quote by “Tina Turner" what’s love got to do with it.” I don’t know if marriage will ever be in his chart, but he needs to figure out just what is it that he wants out of life because he has everything life has to offer except for being married. He’s a great guy and but marriage comes with a huge price and I’m not sure that’s the price he’s willing to pay or give up.

@apple20 sara like I stated in my comment it doesn't matter typically what religious briefs one has most women want to be married when in long term relationship. However, he has much more to lose being married than not and that's what he has to deal with not being married. Marriage laws are far to construed to destroy ones wealth rather than to keep them together and this needs to change especially if that person did not bring much into the marriage to begin with and now they want half of what the other person work hard to get its not right.

Ethiopian culture marriage is for family members name to survive and it history. for example my family teach up 10 great grandparents name and history. some family members goes up to 20 great grandparents name and history.
