Fakie He probably goes by the feels of an old man, because usually older people are wise and just there vibes in general laid back and suff. Old souled. He's said it a few times, in the song Solace too.
@@jasper1296 me too didnt you go to mountain view and you more popular then me so whenever someone said "hey jasper" I turned around and they were actually talking to you
@@trashboat8334 but it was different here, earl goes 2nd and Tyler goes 3rd, the original Tyler goes 2nd and Earl 3rd. The “Bid you goodnight and good luck” was actually Earl, and Tyler said “bitch” at the end of the performance Sorry for being a smart ass, just wanted to clear that
+0LolaLola well then who's the censoring for? only old people, white people and feminists want censorship so... (not all old people, white people and feminists)
***** i know man but come on its so uncomfortable for odd future to come on to fucking letterman where the usual guest is like idk some boring white celebrity taylor swift or smth and then these guys like you can tell the mood of the audience
***** yeah you are kinda right but still this performance was pretty dope. letterman needed something like this and also, i checked out the top 10 musical guests on letterman and tyler was there (with this live)
+Charlie Walker nah letterman had a lot of great musical acts on over the years interspersed with the usual network-label-required-handshake glitz. he is a huge tom waits fan and had him on several times, for example. anywho it was definitely not a weird thing for great alternative acts to show up on letterman.
Nope. Not only is his audience up for anything, remember Dave is the guy who had Stupid Pet Tricks & books really offensive bands & comics since back in the day. Letterman in the 80's & 90's was WAY odder than Odd Future ever was.
When he does that raspy deep shit he has to make his voice like that but his register has always been low. He just doesnt do that raspy rap like that anymore, on FUCK IT I believe he said he dont even like rapping like that
“Look at that mom (Earl’s mom) who thinks I’m evil, holds that grudge against me. Though I’m the reason that her muthafuckin son (Earl) got to eat.” People forget that Tyler put a lotta people on with his music. He literally saved Frank Ocean’s & Earl’s life with OF.
@@RyderMonkeyGamer Frank was basically homeless after hurricane Katrina, so during the time he was recording Bastard, he basically helped give Frank a place to record & create with his other friends.
@@LoneStoneMaalik Tf you talking about? lmao Katrina was in 2005. Tyler would've been 14 at the time. He also didn't start recording Bastard until he was 16. Frank got his break as a ghostwriter. He was already hella famous before Tyler and him met.
Its sam if you listened to the album and every album of tyler except cherry bomb you can see a story in it in this story earl is getting shot by sam thats why sam says shut the fuck up and then you hear the gunshots
"I'm harder than DJ Khalid playing the F R E A K I N G quiet game" "But he H U R T S women" "MTV can E A T M Y S H O R T S" These are the new lyrics from now on
The 21st century Elvis of music. I’m a 66 yr old non black man.this is the most innovative creative music I’ve ever heard since the Beatles. Absolutely genius
Thomas Cogger early young Elvis was a White kid hip enough to be into black culture. He kicked open the door for black music to be heard in a much broader scale. There’d never have been the British Invasion had it not been for British kids who first heard Elvis singing black music which then turned them on to black music and artist. Post military movie/las Vegas Elvis was lame, but young raw Elvis kicked it which is why he rose to cult fame.in those days you could hear black music on white radio. Elvis turned white kids into black music
You're an idiot, most people who are not from this generation don't understand this type of music, obviously there is exceptions. It has always been that way. During the 80's the adult generation thought rock was evil, so on and so forth. Get an education kid.
Letterman wasn't laughing at Earl Sweatshirt, he just thought it was a really original/interesting/unique/random name. Dave isn't some uptight geezer. He pioneered "weird" in Late night. Letterman is the king of random shit, and he appreciates the randomness of the name Earl Sweatshirt. Earl knows it's a funny name, like James Pants, and that's why he chose it.
That's because on the album version, Earl's verse is cut short by Sam (Tyler), who proceeds to shoot both Domo and Earl, I believe. All a part of the album's storyline. In fact, on the album version, Earl's verse comes last. Dom is first, and Tyler goes second.
I'm disappointed I'm just now discovering them. I constantly get annoyed how bad new rap is, and its refreshing to see stuff like this flying under my radar.
Earl is a nobleman rank, Sweatshirt tied to that is pretty humorous. Doubt he minds, prolly chose it for that reason cause it makes you think. Laughing abit along the way is fine.
Triston Larson He’s a smart man. He knew his audience well. That’s all that matters when you’re trying to produce media with high ratings. And he just does a good job of having fun with it. Regardless of the intention, I’m sure it opened a few ears, especially considering the track they chose to perform. I feel like the lyrics on Rusty are very digestible to someone not into rap. Also, really important for people like that to hear.
I've always said this is Tyler's best verse. When I first heard it I was like this is the one and even years later with his other classics this still the one for me.
I wish these 3 would do an album together, they're so well balanced. Earl's technique as a rapper is amazing. Tyler's vision and ideas are awesome and Domo brings a chill factor to even everything out.
pewol I'm guessing you've never heard a Tyler the Creator album? Listen to Wolf, Cherry Bomb or even some of his production for Kali Uchis and tell me he lacks vision or talent.
@@dirtycardigan4609 What are you talking about? Letterman probably loved that. His how and artists he had on were always off the wall. Even more so than Odd Future. This is nothing special for him.
Tyler probably got the reaction he wanted. Dont get me wrong, Rusty and Wolf are great, but shock value and edginess were priorities for Tyler back then loll
