He’s not saying the mclaren can’t speed he’s saying he can’t speed. That’s ppl talk down here sometimes. There’s personal pronouns that we may not say that are implied.
It's ironic. I learned about Tyler through you in that Halloween spooky rap song episode (btw, you should do more of those) and yet I feel like you are more and more out of touch with his vision despite litteraly following his sound since he begins... But hey, at least you reviewed it
With that Zendaya line and the misinterpretation of the lyrics, I think Rap Critic rushes too fast. I've seen him do stuff like this all the time. You can take your time to look up everything about a song and really compile a review. As with music and writing, it's better to focus on quality rather than quantity.
Nah Critic you buggin on this one. A 2 outta 5 is too low especially for it to be a stand out track on one of the best albums of 2021. But to each his own can’t wait for the next review.
@@TheLeageOfAwsome1 rc really loves nitpicking the lyrics more than anything. I get it because rap is focused on the vocals a lot but the overall sound matters a lot as well and to me nba benefitted the song. And really was anyone expecting anything super profound from nba?
@@pleaseputyourshoesondebbie7920 the name speaks for itself ya feet make other ppl bed stink n I agree he did kill it n it could of been decently better just like ya mom bac in the day she aged horribly but I am still out getting milk tell ya brother he will never be the man ya mother was
NBA YoungBoy: "You can't hit my (highly destructive drug that causes seizures), no" Rap Critic: "What kind of gentleman won't share his cup with a lady?!"
You're wrong on this one Rap Critic. I like to break down the song as Tyler being the outcast guy that is not as cool as he thinks he is trying to impress the girl and YoungBoy as the hood dude trying to spit game. The Dynamics really play off of each other when you see two different ways delivering the same message 🤷🏿♂️
Might be a reach, but I think YoungBoy was saying because his car is fast like Sonic, he can’t drive it too fast or he’ll get pulled over? I don’t listen to him enough to know anything about his lyrics though
2/5 is reeeeally harsh imo for what was to you a mediocre verse while everything else about the song was incredible. still respect it but i don’t get the thought process really
Honestly, as someone who hates YB, I thought his verse was great. Nothing lyrical but his vocals were nice, fit the best perfectly and his flow was great.
This so much. I'm really wondering if this is just blind auto tune hate. I don't even like Youngboy, but I thought this feature was amazing when I heard it.
@@IsaiahKeene if you don’t like it then nothing someone says will change your mind but I think his verse is catchy and just sounds great, adds to the vibe of the song a lot imo
@@IsaiahKeene you're right one hundred percent, id love to see anyone explain this dumpster fire of a verse. Only people saying, "its a vibe man" I get irritated because they're the ones allowing a whole infestation of nigh untalented artists to exist
But he´s trying to get the girl and that usually involves more than sharing a cup. Maybe he´s trying not to get her on to that stuff, but that´s either hypocrytical or he´s addicted and dosen´t wish that for her, which would be quite sad.
Sometimes, I think rap critic focuses too much on lyrics. It's like an English teacher thinking every single line in a poem is important. Looking at lyrics is fine and bad lyrics can ruin a song but don't focus too much on them. Sometimes, a line doesn't mean anything like in poems.
He’s saying the Mcclaren is like sonic in that it’s fast, and that he needs to be careful not to speed because it would bring more attention to him from the police than he already has by being a drug dealing rapper in an expensive car.
Okay just seriously, can you stop pretending as if Flower Boy is where is he suddenly was "better"? If you want to use something old of his, why not use Wolf? Songs like Answer, Colossus, and especially 48 were three songs that showed the more versatility and story telling like person he's been trying to build. Listen, people make characters and those characters have parts of the artists within them and because of that, you have to look at his whole discography, because each one has different characters and personas that really make up who Tyler is, completely discounting half of his work only makes you a bandwagon type of fan that only looks for whenever they do whatever style feels more appealing to you. Not all of his songs are masterpieces, but the way he's expressed his life and the turmoils of so many thoughts and ideas just wanting to burst at the seams is why he does deserve to be given a chance, not just because one or two albums had more mainstream appeal to it, because you would also use that against another artist in another video like with Lupe's "Pu$$y" which was literally equivalent to a satirical song in Boondocks or South Park, but because people assume satire has to be funny, it's seen as something foolish for him to make yet at the time, the main complaint (especially by you) was that hip hop was all about pussy, money, and drugs.
Bruh, I can’t stand people that comment stuff like this. He clearly was giving his opinion of his music based off how he interpreted it. The fact that you need him to explicitly state that, shows your lack of inference. If YOU feel like Tyler’s older music is the building blocks to where he is now, then that’s fine. But maybe HE doesn’t think so. Also, he acknowledged that to him, he started off shaky, but then became an artist he can respect. So you completely ignored that for the sake of commenting or just cause you butthurt over an artist that you don’t even know...you even said not all of his songs were masterpieces but because you FELT like he should be given a chance, rap critic is wrong for having an opinion. Nobody has to entertain anything they don’t want to, or like anything they don’t like. People like YOU are the reason most content creators don’t care. Because all you do is complain without any legitimate reason. You just hurt. That’s YOUR problem. Get over it.
@@shizzaun14 So wait, Rap Critic is the only one who can be critical? Lol, and this is why RU-vidrs be getting away with a lot of shady shit sometimes, please elaborate more about how you "hate" my pointless and totally irrelevant comment.
@@shizzaun14 Also, don't pretend like this is going to hurt his feelings, he'll probably just make another mocking character of this type of complaint because people like yourself embroil him not to listen.
Rap Critic is the only person I’ve heard yet (on one of the most discussed songs off the album) say Youngboy didn’t fit this song. This video just feels like an attempt to make this song seem bad
Yeah. I thought his Dirty Iyanna song was pretty bad and just a blatant ripoff of Dirty Diana (even as a sample, it's just a ripoff; he didn't change anything about the it) and he relies too much on autotune but I thought he was fine on the song. Even Lil Uzi Vert wasn't bad.
"McLaren like sonic can't speed, no" This car so fast I better not speed. Cuz y'know it's so fast. It's dangerous. C'mon bruh it's like purposely tryna misunderstand lol
Hate to say it but the time has come where Rap Critic is glaringly out of touch w culture😭 First he called shawty Zendaya then he didnt know abt the whole Prada U trend
Sorry Critic but if you heard NBA YoungBoy's catalog, this feature is NIGHT AND DAY comparatively. He sounds like an angel in contrast to his aggressive trap flow. Seriously Call Me If You Get Lost is honestly one of my favorites of the year
Didn't you have an option for song requests on patreon? Not the voting thing, but an exclusive request. I want to have Ez Mil on your radar. On the surface, he's easy to disregard. But the kid's wordplay is ridiculous, double/tripple entendres in each bars which smoothly transitions into the next. I would've paid for you to review certain songs from the kid but I guess you don't do that anymore.
The McLaren is so fast like sonic I can’t be speeding. Kind like saying this car is forcing me to speed so I have to keep reminding myself not to give in… My point is, a comma can make the most significant difference
Honestly don't agree with cherry bomb as example of old tyler, cherry bomb is self-aware and intentionally mangled and the rest of the album is a banger and has excellent production. I expected something from Goblin, which is jarringly simplistic at times.
Not a big fan of YB but his verse was really good in my eyes. The first time heard the song even i was like “yeah it dont fit right into the song”, but his vocals were great, his flow fit real nice, the sound of him rapping really made his verse worth it even though his lyrics didnt specifically match. You really trippen with a 2/5 but ay, its yo opinion man im not gone refute it
Bruh that is NOT zendaya. And Youngboy said Mclaren is like sonic (fast) so he can’t speed (doesn’t want to get pulled over). Gotta up the pre vid research lol.
Also I think you are using the spotify wrong cover. It's just a bug. I am pretty sure it's not official. Same happened to me with others singers, like Sevdaliza whose humans had the wrong cover for some reasons...
Good reaction, I always enjoy your content! You're great at what you do and imo one of the toughest critics there is, you seem very unpredictable, lol even Fantano is more predictable, although he doesn't always go too far out of his lane, but yeah for me this track was beautiful, that sample is too magical, that alone could never make this song bad, but Tyler I thought flowed like butter over this and was on point lyrically and for me NBA was dope for what it is, you're right, he didn't fit the track at all, but he did the beat justice or at least didn't ruin the track, kept the track a vibe to me! Much love from Canada!! Peace and Blessings to everyone reading this!!
I really wish critics wouldn’t review stuff based on requests, it nearly always results in them going out of their depth talking about something they’re not that invested in or interested by and are just talking about out of obligation. PS: For someone whose gimmick is overthinking lyrics, you sure make a lot of mistakes. PPS: please learn how to mix your sound at a consistent level. Makes your videos borderline unlistenable sometimes and I don’t remember it being this bad in your older videos.
@@genghiskhangaming7936 honestly, I don’t really care about this song either, this video is just a perfect example of why I stopped following Rap Critics videos.
people upset that RC over analyses lyrics, but I feel that the over analysis is what makes RC's vids enjoyable. They're where most of the humour comes from, so when he's being overly analytical on strong lyrics, the episodes aren't as funny (see Story of OJ, despite still being interesting and insightful) it can seem frustrating but I feel its his style and sets him apart from other RU-vid rap critics.
