My grandfather was in Tamworth Home Guard and regularly manned these pillboxes, flooding was a problem, they also manned the castle,a spooky experience

This is what RU-vid is about allowing people to share matters of interest. There are lots of Pill boxes around Essex and I have always had a fascination with them. I hope they are always preserved as they are an important part of our history. Thank you for posting.

I just love a Pillbox. Thankfully we had an Anti Tank Ditch called the English Channel. The Stop line alone the A120 in Essex is always a distraction.... .

we literally had one of these on my high school field (mildenhall college academy) it’s now abandoned and has moved location but still

The Bren/LMG was fully-automatic rifle. You could aim at things and hit them.
