I'm like to add a note that I significantly underestimated how much of a detriment this things hull armour would be. The result is it's actually one of the worst T10 heavies and I woudn't buy it until it's reworked.
What's nice is that if you have down time between combat or you're driving into position at the start of the game, your first round will have the better accuracy saved up so you can hopefully land that first shot and start applying pressure on the enemy.
@@Paciat I meant more than that, same hull shape, same turret shape, both have hydropneumatic suspension, both have terrible hull armor but are good hull down.
This tank will be fun to play. I think at the start of battle it will be more of supporting/sniping role unless you can get in some powerful position to hide totally. And at the second part of battle it's mobility will help it to push/finish the job.
nice it has a deppresion, it can use the STB/UDES mechanic and it has the new gun mechanic, but at the same time its armor is quite weak. I like it, i dont think it will be broken
It looks pretty damn decent. Amazing dpm, good ammo selection, amazing on sniping maps and the standoff range is amazing too. Better turret armor than the super conq too Slam a bond/bounty turbo on it, and play it like a hulldown king medium tank.
Honestly the Sconq has a better turret unless they are shooting you from the side. That and the sconq is just more versatile as a general purpose tank, especially when you consider the hull on the T71
@@ASSASSIN19923 I mean the Type 71 is good but nowhere near as broken as the obj268/4 was at release. The obj268/4 had the armor of a good heavy combined with the mobility and gun handling of a medium, nearly as much HP as the Jagdpanzer E100 with 250mm thick "weak" points. The only thing it didn't have is dpm.
I still wish Wargaming would fix hydropneumatic suspension so that it can also tilt the tank's hull side to side as well as front to back, so they can get that extra depression over the sides as well as the front and back. Because as you can find in videos of the real-life Type 74 (the mass production version of the STB-1), that's very much ow hydropneumatic suspension works.
STB-1 is the Type 74. Pretty sure the Type 71 is completely fictional but I think its a pretty good imagination of what a heavy tank development would look like.

Mights just get it because of its look tbh. Also love heavies with balanced alpha damage and actual weakspots when hull down. Not everything needs to do 500-700dmg at tier 10.
Let's be honest. Almost every vehicle that QB plays looks unbelievably overpowered😂😂😂. But when I finally manage to get it, ohh it is not as good as it looked in the video.
that game 2 was simply a horrible misplay. showed the weak areas of the vehicle but also shows the weak areas of the player as well. no good player would push into that position at that time.
This thing will be the best tier 10 techtree HT yes and no. If you get in Malinovka, Prokhorovka, El Halluf, maps where you can stay hulldown or you need to snipe, it is the best. If you get in Ruinberg, Highway, maps where you need to sidescrape, it sucks. Consider the current map rotation and how the meta is working, this tank is surely not the new meta tank, but it can work, just not as often as the S.Conq or even the E5. The Type 68 at tier 9 is actually a very good tank and it's better tier-to-tier compared to its bigger brother.
If you want to use the strong Type 71 tanks, play the lesta Ver of WoT. Because the lesta Ver of the Type 71 is close to the Blitz version, and is armored enough to at least fight on a flat surface. And you will be reminded how much the WGs running EU/NA/ASIA are reluctant to balance the game and how much lack of coordination is evident.
Serious question QB. How the hell do you get 119 fps and low 20s ping? My ping will start at around 25 then as soon as the battle starts shoots up to 150+ which is a real bummer along with very low fps. I've got a pretty decent rig and internet speed but it's driving me nuts. HELP!
How do I enable the double aiming mechanism? No matter how long after I take a shot, It doesn't show up at all when I play a game. How do I get the improved accuracy to activate?
That hull armor is tragic af, the mechanic is good, like 3 years ago I think of this kinda mechanic on the game, and wg now have it, good job for wg to make some creative tank playstyle, still, that tragic hull make the game very rigid on gameplay, well at least as a heavy.
Dont get me wrong here because I dont like Wargaming ruining the game with tanks that get special features even tough I dont think wargaming is ruining the game with that at all. I kind of think its cool to give every nation in world of tanks a special feature. We have the swedish tanks with siege mode, the italian tanks with a different autoloading system and now japanese tanks with a dispersion feature. I think its cool and makes every nation something special
It looks like a very good tank, but I think the Super Conqueror will still end up being better for most players and consequently achieve a higher overall win-rate.
Because most players are noobs frankly and doesn't understand how to utilize certain mechanics like hydropneumatic suspension or double aiming properly. In the hands of unicorns I'd say the Type 71 has the edge
I’ve got the type 63 and honestly, it became my favorite tank in a blink of an eye. The weird playstyle that differs from every other heavy tank just hits the spot for me. If you have the opportunity, you can sit hulldown in front of the enemies, shoot your 290 HEAT ammunition and slowly dismantle the enemy tanks. Out of HEAT? no problem, just wait for the mechanic to kick in and hit EVERY SINGLE CUPOLA and weakspot that enemy tank has with 95% accuracy. Battle going arye? no problem, fall back behind a bush or take a cover behind a rock and SNIPE with accuracy comparable to Strv…. Ofcourse, situations where enemies just push through and kill you in seconds because of no hull armor happen from time to time, but I am doing well at avoiding those as much as I can. All of this combined with it’s mobility makes it one of the most versatile tanks in the game currently. Even tho the new tier X has a cupola and not so great premium ammo, I think I’m going to like it a lot. PS: I’ve just realised that I made a short tank review on Type 63 under the wrong video but it’s whatever.
This tank is basically a TD with better armor and mobility. Just officially a "heavy". So double-bush, get on that ridge, do all the TD tricks and win. Face-hug? Absolutely not. Note that the still rather new M-V-Y is also the same - a great sniper but NG face to face.
I've tried to play this Type 71 in the last test server and the present one, but I cannot understand why the double aiming system never works for me. The cooling down system does not work. I never get the 2 aiming dot's, it simply aims and fires like any other tank. Am I doing something wrong? are my settings wrong? I just do'nt get it!!! ☹
Think it is very strong in comparision with the other heavies at t10. Mayby a bit to strong. But otherwise is the gun trash, is you use the full dpm. So the tanks gun is mayby in the most situations worse than the gun of the S. Conq. But I think that should be a better advice that the gun is fully accurat. For example a sound or another visual effect. It would be also interesting to know, if the gun has only the accurate and the unacurate „mode“ or there is enything between it. If you do not shoot instant after the reload but do not wait for the full cooldown (wait for example 10 secounds between the shots).
I was hoping for the Type-74 to join the ranks of the Japanese Tanks, Its a Heavy tank with a 105mm and hydropneumatic suspension...I was embedded with the Japanese Ground Self Defense Force back in 2014 and they can put these tanks to their limits for sure
i already see my crew from type 63 being switched in tier probably 9 type 68..the main reason is tiers 10 drains a lot of credits:D but this is not the tank for avarege players, every battle must be calculated.

@@test_nametest_surname1794 It isnt more than Improved rotation mechanism, an increase that small doesnt change the tank in any major way. Which is why improved rotation mechanism is better than vents, it actually changes a weakness of the tank more than vents does.
@@teostancu364take his vents advice with a grain of salt, when the gun handling is that good to drops stabs and pick vents, its often better to just use a turbo or durabilty instead of vents (so for sconq for example; rammer turbo durability)
