Type o Negative is a prime example of a band that held their own and couldn't be contended with. No one compares to them in their type of music. Pure talent. They are justified!
Not the worst ambition... I can't promise that I'll die listening to Saint Peter Steele crooning into my ear, but I can't entirely promise that I won't either...
I've often wondered what music would be playing when I die. My worst fear is that I'll die in a car wreck just as some idiot in the passenger seat flipping through the stations says, "I know it's Brittany Spears, but I kinda like this song!"
I know I'm not supposed to wish misery on others, but sometimes I put this on repeat and think about people that have fucked me over. Bad things come to those, in all good time.
What makes you think that you have won When the battle has only just begun? Let the punishment fit the crime Bad things come to those in all good time Let My mistake was to put you first Deceitful bubble was so soon to burst I asked you believe in just us Now my faith lie in mine own justice Let How many times must I say I'm not sorry? And how many ways can I show You don't care? Ah Rotting bodies of enemies Cannot smell sweet enough to me What is the price of a friend? Who would carry out revenge? In this bleak world of absent laws One in which the judge are whores An honor to die for the truth Eye for an eye, tooth for tooth How many times must I say I'm not sorry? And how many ways can I show I don't care? How many times must I say I'm not sorry? And how many ways can I show I don't care?
I love the chorus vocals at the end of the song as they sound so sad but beautiful at the same time, what an arrangement, I love to sing this song all the time ;)
Dark, harmonic, tender and uplifting (with a bit of boisterous bleakness bunged in for TON's nihilistic measure !); yes, this is typical TON style. The Flock Of Seagulls / Cocteau Twins influence is certainly obvious here. (2 of Pete Steele's essential influences)
+Rita Jimena Me too I know what you mean, I adore this song very much as well, it just has that certain sound to it ;) much love from one TyPe o NeGaTivE fan to the next ;)
That is so cool my friend !!! ;) Yes TON is a big part of my life for a long time too and always will be ;) much love and respect too you as well my friend ;)
There's a bat that circles my yard during the evening, and I was working out while listening to this when the bat showed up again. I legit felt like batman
I still think Steele is coming back as a Sammi Curr type dude... Like in the movie Trick-or-Treat from the 80's.. Steele is the perfect villain to seek retribution on the society that shunned him...haha
Anyone else want to trip when they hear this song I use to read Carlos Castaneda books and when I was looking for my ally I use to play this song and get blitzed who knows what I'm talking about
Oh Yeah, except I read CC's books back in the 70's so it was Zeppelin and Flyod for me. I did get to party with Pete once after a concert in Shreveport, LA. Been a TON fan forever. RIP Green Man.
+handsomebrick Tool has no similarities with Sabbath whatsoever. I'd say Alice in Chains. Type O is definitely inspired by Sabbath's doomy heavy riffs. But they had a really distinctive sound which sets them apart.
WarHead If you can't heard any Sabbath in tool you need to listen more carefully in my opinion, maybe to either band, personally I find songs like vicarious remind me of the masters of reality album by Sabbath for example, but I guess each to their own.
Acid is for shiftless fools who can't rely on their own minds or instinct to find a path in life. You seem like you do it often.Type O Negative isn't an "acciiiidddd maaaaaan" band, so fuck off with your misguided nonsense WAYGON
one day i added this to my apple music library for some reason even though i dont know this song or this album or this band and now it always tries to play itself whenever i plug my phone into a car because its at the top of the alphabetical order. ive never listened past like 30 seconds. suffering
