THE TRUTH: Hello fellow Type O & Peter Steele fans. I was skimming these comments & am seeing lots of theories so I wanted to drop a quick note. I was actually on this tour, I was the direct support acts manager & tour manager. Type O has been one of my favs forever so when we got the tour I almost glitched. Any way Pete & I became fast friends on the tour because I was also sober and I stepped right up to encourage him & help keep him busy, hell I even carried his toolbox & duffle bag for him at each stop, and flashlighted him on & off the stage because his tour manager was also their sound guy so he didn't really get too much personal assistance, aside from his guitar tech. Anyways, I was there and I have some insight into his health & mental state. Yes, he gained weight because he was in recovery but he was on the mend and in good spirits. He & I devised a plan to record an interview & share it on RU-vid because he wanted to make things right. In this vid he discusses new music, next chapters, apologizes to anyone he had offended in his "intoxicated rampages", etc. I still have the footage, I need to convert it and upload it. He even says "Damon, I hate to say this but I'm feeling rather positive" then gives that classic Peter grin. Hell, he was lifting weights with us, and swinging kettlebells. I could go on for hours with stories and memories from the tour but I just want to share this info for the ones who really love Pete like I did & still do! He was fucking excited and ready for the future & he was embracing sobriety!! They were looking for a new label at the time and I contacted several who came out to see the show on our Chicago date. He was writing & planning ahead, discussing a healthier lifestyle, and coming back strong. He was not a sick and brokedown soul, he was healing, finding his footing, and about to serve up another batch of tunes. He knew he was loved and expressed that it meant the world to him! I have the pictures and video to prove it. I still have his number in my cell. God Damn if October Rust isn't one of the best albums ever recorded!! And remember what he said "when you're at my wake, don't come to mourne, come to celebrate". - Damon Moreno / The Inner Light Agency
Man, please release this footage. I love this insight. This is exactly what I saw and felt through interviews. I knew he was ready and I know the first few shows were not that good because, well, its a new experience, like playing a gig for the first time. I really look forward to seeing this interview and I love that you shared this story. Would love to hear more!!! Thank you, and YOU SUCK!
I'll take a fat, hopeful and sober Pete any day over a miserable, ripped, drug addled Pete...although, it made for some of the finest music to ever grace human ears. I read this comment from damon_iLA talking about being on tour with them and Type O planning on recording again and it breaks my fucking heart. There just isn't enough Type O in the world.
He was drinking a beer at one point in this video. Just saying. He doesn’t look healthy either but he sounds surprisingly great. I was expecting a train wreck, as I’ve heard some of the Dead Again shows from 07-09 were kinda rough. I heard THIS very show was shitty compared to their previous shows by a person who saw it in Detroit. Idk about the rest of the show, but this part of it sounds amazing to me.
Stay Type O Negative. Don't stay negative in your life. From a true Gothic, I know it sounds contrary, but really Peter was not negative, he was just original and just Pete, the real deal.
Peter woulda been 57 today and Dimebag woulda been 53. The metal community has never been so tight or alive since then and died with them in my opinion ;(

Truth lets forget jeff from slayer and vinnie paul
His body wasn’t big enough for his beautiful soul, Peter deserves to be inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame, he was an extraordinary human being. Love and miss you Pete 🙏🏻✝️❤️
EXACTLY ! RIGHT ON MAN! If he isn't inducted into rock&Roll hall of fame then rock&Roll is fucking dead!!!! I Am In Love With A Dead Man! R.I.P. Gorgeous Green Man! "Free At Last"
At this time, Peter had finally reached sobriety. Regarding those mentioning his weight, he was aware of it and very self-conscious. But for the first time in who knows how many years or decades, he was playing sober. No alcohol to numb the stage fright, no cocaine. He had finally vanquished his demons.
You never fully vanquish them(unless you're a Charmed one) you just learn to keep them at bay. Peter was strong enough from 09' onwards to do just that.
ami2evil Could be! I don’t have time to watch the entire video to check. I can only write what I’ve read from his interviews and other news sources. Please feel free to look into it and share what you find out :)
All of you saying he let himself go....lets wait and see how all of you look closer to 50. This is a God ...physical appearance come and go but Peter was my King every second he lived on earth.
Everyone is saying Peter gained weight at this point in time. I don’t see that but his arms look bigger really, the guy was already muscular it looks like he has more muscle here. But really the green man was clearly a great stage presence both in physical and personal form. I hate that I was born too late to see type o live. But I still love the band and Peter Steele inspires me as a musician and overall person today. Rest In Peace Mr. Steele 💚
Yeah he did gain a lot of weight once he sobered up which is a common tale. I was watching a video when they were playing the song September sun and he had to actually sit down to perform it. He wasn't in the greatest shape but from what I've gathered, he was in awesome spirits and trying to really get back on track with things but unfortunately he passed on.
I read in an interview he did at Duff’s that he had to sit down during some of those songs because he had recently been in a motorcycle accident and injured his legs. He then dropped trou (typical Peter 😂) to show the interviewer the scars.
Yet another fan who wishes away the vivid reality in favor of sugarcoated fantasy. As plain as day in the right lighting in this video, his keg-sized belly can be seen laying on the top part of his bass.
At this time Peter was on psych meds. Everybody gains weight on the damn things. It just goes with the territory. I think he's still beautiful and has so much more to offer than looks alone
Pete may not have aged as gracefully as some people do, but he was an extraordinary artist and will not be forgotten. One of the best things that has happened to me was discovering their music. Thanks Pete, rock the next world.
I knew some of Type O Negative songs back in the 90s. But it is only recently with the Covid19 pandemic that I have come to really appreciate the genius of Type O Negative and their frontman Peter.
It is awesome that you have found their depths! They are so missed by us that it is indescribable! 😭😭😭😭 such a terrible loss to the music world and those of us who hate being alive without this band. It is that real!!
Me too.i was in utube, and heard this song,I was so hooked, ball, chain, and anchor.they where amazing.in high school I dated someone that looks exactly like Peter steele.he loved me a lot.but it just stayed as friends.we where teenagers.but I love type o,they wrote beautiful music.am I good enough for you😁💖💡🖐️👍☕
+chris colmus Oh please. Everyone says that AFTER someone dies. I saw the signs. He looked sick. I knew it was going to happen. How DID YOU KNOW??? Did he have a heart attack on stage? Did he tell the audience he was dying or would die soon? PLEASE, enough with the drama.
Peter is an ICON & will NEVER be forgotten. I saw Type O in the late 90s & they were phenominal. It was a smaller venue & he hit the low vocal bass notes that literally vibrated your insides. 1 of the best front men ,EVER
Its so sad to see him like this. If you find one of the interviews right before he passed where he had a full thick beard, the man looked healthy and in good spirits. Like he had a whole new lease on life. Shortly after that, he was gone. RIP Green Man
He looked incredibly healthy in that interview. His weight seemed to be controlled nicely, the freshly dyed beard & hair was a great touch, and he was in such high spirits. God was ready for him sadly for us.
There hasn’t been anybody as original as Peter Steele or Type o Naegative since Them, They were The soundtrack To my life in 94 and up, They where an amazing band and Pete was one of The greatest frontmen of all Time!!!
I just happened to have my satellite radio tuned to a station that just happens to play Christian Woman. I was hooked from the beginning of the song and was even late for an appointment because I could not turn off the song! From then on I have been listening to Type 0 Negative, watching their videos, interviews and converts. I really wish that I had known about them when Peter Steele was alive and had the opportunity to see them live. Even though he is no longer with us, Peter's music and presence is still with us and will love on.
I had my change to meet them on their october rust tour hereillä in finland. It was pettynyt college to shake handsfree and Change few words with 'em. I still listen them at time to time
This is an incredibly sad watch, it is always hard for me to see the last performances of my idols (Tommy Cooper's being the most heartbreaking), fuckin a man, he was just restarting his life and God chose him at an inopportune time. The venue looks all the more depressing, it looks like a sleazy dingy nightclub. RIP PETER, you got me through High School brother, I'll never forget you.
PS said that he preferred to play smaller venues, and that his alcohol consumption (he played completed wasted for almost all of their shows) was proportional to the size of the crowd. There was a good chance that they were trying to limit any triggers re: his sobriety.
My friend sung every single type o negative album in one night when he found out about Peter's death it was the most depressed i seen him in the 12 years I've known him. Before I moved away from my home town he promised me when I seen him again he would be a singer just like peter.. Peter had a strong influence on him..RIP PETER💕
I think TON is a little bit underrated, even though they have earned so much respect. TON is a band unique and they deserve be recognized as one of the biggest bands in the genre like Pantera, because TON made a revolution in the sound too. They are one of a kind.
Very upsetting to know this was type o negative last show... will forever miss peter he looks healthy and sounds amazing. The keyboardist isn't too good on black no.1, too bad Josh wasn't playing originally, it's great to see he is now out saving lifes!💚💋💚💋💚💋💚💋
I saw this tour. Im glad I did. I must admit, I was taken back when Peter walked on stage. It was a shock. He did not look as healthy as he should have. They did on a killer show as usual, and I miss them still to this day.
These are my videos. VTDravin (Mike Malone). Thanks for doing this!! Happy to see all the views you've gotten. Obviously pretty raw, but a night Ill never forget. Of course had no idea that this was it when I originally posted. Glad I stumbled upon this. Rock on
Was lucky enough to see them only 3 times. I missed the dead again Tour because my ride to the show blew me off the night of the Cleveland show... 8 months later Peter was dead. I'll never forgive him for that. But I cherish my memories. Thanks for this video. I love the rendition of Love you to Death - his angry voice is awesome.
This was my first and only Type O concert unfortunately. I'm glad I got to see his last show in Detroit. Quite often I will revist this video. Please keep this posted.
I've seen type o negative a few times live and they never disappointed. Sad that this was their last show in Detroit but at the same time happy it was Halloween. Somehow fitting it was Halloween too
I was lucky enough to catch them 4 times. 3 shows were great, and the other was at Ozzfest. I don't remember much about that one. RIP Pete. 5 years gone and you are still very much missed.
Pete may have gained a little weight, but that tends to happen when you get off of hard drugs and alcohol. Makes you have a bigger appetite. Not to mention the fact that he had a disorder with his GI Tract (Don't remember the name) and he was a 48 year old 6'8 Polish guy who liked good food. RIP Pete, you are loved and missed.
My wife who is 56 just had surgery for the same thing that killed Peter. Diverticulitis with sepsis. I was so afraid she would die too but sh3 caught it just in time. Peter could be 450 lbs and he would still be the most beautiful man who ever lived. And the most beautiful soul.
@@BigWill2k he was just tired, sore and not overall feeling well, had to read lyrics from a book some songs, hence the podium. Talked to them after the show and they were making fun of him because the entire bus smelled like ben gay because apparently he was just bathing in the stuff. Still an awesome dude, can just tell he was wore down.
I remain so grateful I was able to see Type O live, even if it was this final show. This is a much cleaner recording than I've seen all these years. Thank so much for posting.
It's admirable that he was still performing, considering how ill he was. I never got to see a Type O Negative concert & am truly grateful this was shared. Thanks.
I have been to ton live 4 times. I am still shocked how bad peter looked in his last years. There is no week since 1993 i did not listen at least ton once. Rip big man, i miss you.
PETER left this earth before his time as a man,but in contrast as the MUSICAL GENIUS,PERFORMER he was, the show could not go on.I think he was pained because he knew what had become of him, I hope in the end he recieved the PEACE,that he desirved
Mike Rudell seeing you were there, in your own opinion how long do you think Pete could of kept on performing with TON? (Let's say he didn't have his heart attack). Just curious.
@@kristywalker1500 Sorry just now seeing your comment. I think he could have kept on going. He looked better than he had in a while. I believe he was sober and working hard on staying that way. He was a genius and is so missed.
One of my favorite bands and my favorite heavy metal band. It's very sad when I hear their music and remember wich that man is no more between us. Pete's death was one of rarest passed that I cry. Everytime I hear TON is a hybrid of happiness and pain to me. I really love that man, and it's yet very difficult to me believe that he's gone, and this marvellous band, too..
i love his voice. I thought they said he was sober, can't tell but is he drinking water or alcohol. So mysterious how he died, so sad such a talented man was lost. Thanks for sharing
Nigel Fortune Peter died of complications from Meckel's diverticulum, a malformation of the gastrointestinal tract. His intestines had badly infected aggravated by hypovolemia which eventually collapse the veins and arteries. All vital organs shutdown. This could have been fixed with surgery.
First show I ever saw was Devildriver, coal chamber and type o negative headlined on halloween. Middle school I believe...... I never get through an October(my birthday month) without their discography in rotation.💀💀RIP
This is one of the few bands where I still find it hard to listen to them after a band member dies. Type O, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Pantera, Nirvana. Remember all of them in their prime and now nothing. Rip Peter.
Tommorow it will be 10 Years since....so proud of my Type O Tatt in Honor and Memory. RIP Pete, so curious what pete would have said about this even crazier world in 2020, and what songs he would have wrote about. miss ya
I think we’re here to touch others lives in some positive way. He did just that to so many. He was a dark angel in an unforgiving world. Walk amongst the angels in heaven. There will be no other like you. RIP ❤️❤️❤️
