I think his string popped as he passed behind Peter and it hit him in the ass. Can hear he's missing a string in the last solo and he's playing a scale up to make up for it in the middle.
@@Nga_Babaye Strings don't fly out when they pop. They just kinda pop and tension is lost and it flops. I think what was going on, as you can see early on, Josh's cage fell, and most the first 15 minutes was Peter trying to find his Bass sound. I think Pete was wondering what happened to the cage and Kenny filled him in lol

What I would give to just have been older, I knew I would’ve loved type o and all there satire, deep and powerful lyrics, roaring sound and all, wish I could’ve seen them. RIP PETRUS
Was in the front of this concert, still have the back stage pass to prove it when I met the band and COF, also still have Peter Steeles bass strings from his guitar he played at this concert....
"He sings better than me. You're fired!!! " Lol I totally lost it. He never lost his amazing sarcasm. Every show was a comedic experience with the green man. I hope he found his peace in the end.
@@MrBlick76 a little off topic, but i feel like Peter would absolutelely be a fan of Donald Trump as President......just his attitude towards everything that is the media, brings to mind "we hate everyone"
I saw TON in 2000, and they (TON) were (supposedly) supporting Coal Chamber (who were AWFUL). CC didn't even belong in the same building as TON...what a joke.
Full Devil Jacket came on first, then Coal Chamber and then Type O Negative. Got to meet Josh and Johnny outside the back of the Tabernacle. They were super cool, talked and signed some shirts and took some pics with us.
Unsuccessfully Coping was the first song I ever heard by Type O. I laughed so hard while reading the lyrics..... I was a fan from that moment on, and was lucky enough to see them live a number of times and even talk to everyone on a few different occasions, except Josh. Never got to talk to him. I love being able to re-live these shows. Thank you for posting this.
Agreed....legendary band, and Peter was an elite level songwriter....like a modern day composer....also loved your vocals on "Halloween in Heaven"....was a really nice contrast to Peter's vocal style
@@TaraVanflower Ah yes, just giving my due respect there.....Pete was a huge fan of Lycia, recall him claiming you guys as a huge influence while they were writing World Coming Down, so its no coincidence that you were chosen for that song.....much respect, and Happy holidays to you and your family!
Thank you so much for this. I was at this show. At the beginning of the show I became ill (NOT drunk or on drugs!! Thanks for the judgment though) and had to watch from the very back of the room. Needless to say I didn't enjoy myself and I don't remember the show. It's been one of my biggest regrets since this was the only TON show I attended. But now I get to relive the experience.
+markit aneight ..I MET PETER AND THE WHOLE BAND! IN "TEXAS☆"! SUPER NICE GUYS!! BEST SHOW EVER! GOT PLENTY OF AUTOGRAPHS! AMAZING TIMES! STILL TILL THIS DAY! NOBODY TOPS " TYPE - 0 - "
@Von_Nightmare_ Luciferian thinking the same thing. Would say a little too much power drinking or dabbling in the uncharted territory of amatruer chemistry.
@Patrick Crawford haha 2 years later and I see this 😂 No, I wasn't drinking or on any substance; I think it was the heat - it was so hot in that building

Saw the premier show of the LIKM tour at CBGBs when they were headlining. Had blue suits instead. It was invite only or contest winners which I won tickets at Vintage Vinyl in Fords NJ after their autograph signing. It was my 3rd out of 7 times seeing them, and had to of been the best when I look back at it. The setlist, the medical costums, and my first n last time at CBGBs. Front row. All I got to say is this is the best rock n roll band of all time. They took every element of rock punk n metal and made it into this beautiful glowing vibe
I never gotta chance to ,to experience Type O...Playing in bands myself..I eventually dated,a huge fan of Peter and the boys..I was so impressed..I bought every cd they have out.And am a dedicated fan 10 years too late...yea im a loser...So Sorry to have miss this downtown...I played Whiskey Dix a dozen times.
I finally spotted my head in the front along the railing. Bizarre. Great fucking show. Love them and CoF. I loved that Dani is all teeny (not really just messing around) then Pete comes out holding a bottle of wine that looked average sized in his hands. I miss him....Hell, I miss it all.
I wish I could have been a fly on the wall when they got the price quote for surrounding the entire stage with fencing and decided to just put it around Johnny instead. 😆
I feel like this band was and is so underrated. I’m from Europe and I moved to the USA in 2002. One day going to work I was driving my ex husband truck and I can’t recall if I forgot my cd’s or what( I hate the radio),and there was this cd in the car seat …. I popped it in and I immediately fell in love . It was type o negative. His friend forgot his cd in the truck. Since then. I have been a fan.for some reason he reminds me ( Peter) and me and my dad s personality.( it might be an Italian thing),very sarcastic, very opinionated, we believe what we believe, hard headed to the max.he reminds me a lot of European people . Anyways I adore this band their music was unique and special and their own brand and it came from passion for it and from their hearts.
william nicholas I went to the Phoenix show on this tour, probably in 5-6th grade with my father. I went to see Cradle and I left that evening an immediate fan of ToN and shortly after lost interest in COF. I've been to a lot of great shows since then but I've never been so immediately impressed by a band. Still listening to them. RIP Peter
at the time it was different priorities, Cradle Of Filth was Roadrunner's new signee and Type O just fulfilled their contract and was no longer a priority to the label, so the top billing was to basically herald their new signing as somewhat of a replacement for the departing band. I don't think it worked, considering shortly after the industry began a massive downfall
I came to see both bands which were my two favs at the time with them botth being in my top 5. I admit that my initial reaction to type o opening was like wtf. But cradle had just done ozzfest and just got signed to sony (correct my if im wrong) so there star was on the rise so to speak. Plus sonically they were louder and more rowdy and there could have been that fear of them blowing type o off the stage so they made cradle go on last. Either way it was a awesome show. Plus moonspell opened
Saw them in Chicago same deal headliner tour then opener for cradle of filth couple of months later. Oddly enough type o negatives name was in larger print for the show they opened for cradle. both times were fucking amazing. I will go to my grave truly saddened by the fact that it's the last two times I would see this band perform in person. Makes me wanna hurt something really fucking bad thinking about it.
I was almost 8 at the time of this show and I kick myself in the ass for being raised on Country Music in Tennessee instead of discovering these Metal Gods.
I love Type O so much! I'm shocked that it seems like these were smaller venues. I hope I'm wrong about that though. They could've sold out huge venues by 1995. RIP to the GOAT Peter Steele.

Type O Negative should've NEVER been any bands opener after 1995. They had truly solidified themselves as legends by 1995,so definitely were top tier status by 2003.
