I'm glad I got to experience a little bit of the 80's and 90's, but I would rather have been an adult to appreciate it more. I say that now because it's nostalgic but I would hate to give up all the technology that I currently have lol.
@@capsulecorp6975 I think I'm right. She was a pretty succinct interviewer and Peter didn't really shoot straight with fools. He must've thought she was at least respectable.
I was 17 at the time... I had just been introduced to Type Θ about two months prior to this interview. I was lucky enough to see them the following summer. Got to meet & talk with Pete & get an autograph.

Yeah, it's the camera angle - in the intro he's a head taller than her. By 0:33 it looks more like half a head - she's closer to the camera and it's probably quite a wide lens. He was more like 6'6" anyway so if he was say 9" taller that would make her 5'9" - fairly tall but not remarkably so...
I've been watching Type O/Peter Steele interviews for the past couple of days and came across with three different interviews done by Vanessa (incl. this one). I really admire her attitude, her seriousness, cleverness and her authority over Peter when he's a bit too flirty or physical (not so in this one :) I think Peter admired her too, he admired her professionalism and he admired her beauty, thus kept flirting with her throughout the interviews which is too cute to handle :') AND at the same time gave her his most serious and elaborate answers.
I agree... his iterviews with her carried an entirely different demeanor, in that time period at least. They never really expected to blow up in popularity the way they did; couple that with all controversy they had from the media on the European tour in 91-92, from 93-96 you can see that for the most part, they were really uncomfortable with interviews and masked that with their heavily sarcastic and deadpan humor. Around the end of 96 and going into 97, you see them start to lighten up a bit as they grow more comfortable with the fame; I'm sure the self medication of drugs n booze helped as well.
not sure he was intentionally flirting. He was just used to being at the center of women's attention and also to attractive interviewers, I believe people project that on his image because he was so irresistible...But surely he admired Vannessa a lot! She kept doing her job, instead of other girls that were literally drooling over him 😍😂
The fact (as seen briefly here) that always was most appealing to me about Peter and Type O's music was how in touch with his emotions he was, despite his persona which obviously oozed with sexual attractiveness. An example that you can be emotional and a beacon of masculinity without it being contradictory.
Is very unique the respect Pete show for womens without losing is male attitude. I m taking notes here, he is my kind of role man to follow now and ever. Happy Halloween in Heaven Peter !

Type O was their money machine for years. they had a contract for certain things and when October Rust didnt sell 7 million copies as company expected they stopped dishing out promo money and said go on tour...forever. then roadrunner put out a greatest hits which the band had a contract for, but never asked anybody what songs to put on it and Josh went fookin nuts on them. worst of all, type o got slipknot to sign with roadrunner, once that happened and roadrunner had new cash cow....all went to hell. thats why every album title got darker...they didnt want to be with them but had to under contract.
One of ZRock's early birthday party shows was Danzig/Marilyn Manson (when their first album had just come out) and Korn (when they were nearly unknown). Pretty crazy lineup.
Yes, Godflesh sucked! Then Peter came out and said they'll hury up their set because they knew we wanted to see Danzig. Pete met with fans in the lobby at the Buena Vista theater in Tucson before the show.
Danzig and Type O? I miss the 90s, although I was only 7-8 during this tour. Metal in the U.S. is on a downslide and I doubt it will enjoy the same popularity it enjoyed 20 years ago.
