I like this option. It appears that you can also add a second camera, which would be nice for my Sierra, since it is high in the front as well and I do a lot of parallel parking in the city/tight street parking areas.
Mine lasted 4 years, but now I need a new one, and costco doesn't sell them at this time. Maybe they will sell it again around Christmas 2023? 🤔 It would be great if they had a TYPE C WIRELESS with 2 cameras to use for front and rear parking.🤔
I want a rear facing camera to be installed on a teardrop trailer so I can see what is behind me when driving on a highway. Will this do that, or only in reverse gear?
Had to return my first Type S, as it failed. The 2nd one works well for awhile but apparently needs to be removed and recharged every few months, a real pain. Solar powered? Not.
Like everything to do with solar, how much access you have to the sun is going to be different for everyone. And if you got one of those portable power packs, you could charge it up that way without removing it.
@@4seeableTV Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, even after I remove the camera, charge it for several days inside the house, the camera still won't pair with the monitor. I am giving up.
still better than cutting wires to attach power from your headlights to the camera. this is perfect both solar and usb battery bank can charge it. i'm not cutting no wires.
@@larryc1616 I agree 100%. Every time I tried to splice in wires in a car, something got screwed up. You can't match the factory wiring. Meanwhile, I tossed my Type S in the trash. Too frustrating since it mostly failed to pair, failed to work. Thanks for your comments.
I got mine 4 yrs. ago from Costco before it broke. I liked this unit because it had a smaller monitor as I don't have much interior space. Regardless, I wish I could find this unit again because it cost a lot less at Costco for $99.00. Amazon sells this at a much higher price.🤑
My first Type S failed after a few weeks. The second one worked for a while, but now the camera will not pair with the monitor, so it is useless. Does that help?
Mine had a small monitor so I was able to put it in cupholder. This new one has a bigger monitor. I prefer a smaller monitor as it takes up less space.
