a little adjustment to your tips. the soft body top hook style swimbaits can be fished effectively all year round. all that changes is the retrieve speed. when using one thats 6" or bigger you want to use 50-80lb braided line and depending on water clarity you either use no leader or a 10 foot leader of fluorocarbon line between 17-25lb test. as long as there is no ice on the water you can fish it in the coldest of water and still catch fish. hope this helps everyone who sees
Kids have Superman, Spider-Man as a super hero. Well Scott you are a fishing super hero along with your dad. I enjoy every video and tip you give, it really helps with my fishing. I also enjoy the laughs and humor in the videos. Keep up the great work I look forward to a notification of a new video upload. Love watching discovery channel Saturday morning for your show.
Scott--FLW cup champion and a million bass later. A big cat nails your swimbait and you still get excited. Speech changes, nervous, throat clearing. All of these are signs of a true fisherman, it never gets old, every bite gets the ole heart racing. You can't help it, it's in your bloodstream and very addictive. Thanks for the tips and remaining a kid a heart.
Thank you Scott for the information on these types of baits. And people, these do not only pertain to Bass, I have had perch blow up on a lure that was bigger than the fish.
I really like these videos. I liked to fish when i was younger. (Bait on a hook see what happens) but now that I am older these videos really help understand what I am doing and I am able to teach my sons. Thank you Scott!
im contemplating about picking up a few packs of berkley powerbait and noticed that berkley powerbait swimbait works glad i decided to do some researching Scott you just proved to me that swim baits catch catfish im buying small swimbait thanks to you scott.
I have never gone swimbait fishing before but I think this spring I am going to try to do it by using these awesome tips. I really like these Fishing tips videos, Great job Scott 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank You for all your tips Scott. I've learned quite a bit from you and plan on hitting the water to try these out. Thanks again for helping to grow the sport.
Scott love your channel, love your faith, love your family and love your positive videos! Love how you treat people and think you are probably just as genuine in person as you come across in your videos! You are a man’s man and have not seen one of your videos yet that I did not like. Oh yeah love Spinnerworm also! I live in KC and love that he represents it on his Instagram! Keep up the excellent work!
I got away from swimbaits for a while but im going to try to get back into them. They quit producing good fish for me here in Mississippi but with new designs out maybe that will change. I may not be able to post a vid like this but ill for sure post one of me catching some fish. Good video.
Great video Scott! Swimbaits flat catch fish. People are intimidated by the larger baits, however if that bass can get it in his mouth or think he can, he’s gonna eat it! Thanks again Scott
For the S-waver or glide baits in general try a light twitch twitch after 5 or 6 turns or any amount of turns you like, but that light twitch twitch is deadly!!
Thank you, Scott. I really enjoyed this video. I would really like to see more of these ypes of videos from you on other baits as well. I really enjoy all of your videos, but I liked this one escpecially.
can't wait to see you at the Ohio expo this next weekend , will Brandon and billy be with you . tell billy to get in and come also ... I will be setup at Booth 845 and would like to get you to sign a few lures if you can for the High school teams to auction of to help fund them . Awesome videos as always . Keep em coming ...
Love these informative vids, Scott, especially when you demo the retrieve! lmao on the catfish - I caught a gar on a paddle tail with the weighted screw hook just below the dam at Lake Rousseau last weekend!
Thank you very much for the hands on demos. I'm just getting back into my childhood love of fishing after 50 yrs away from it and your videos are like having a teacher beside me.
When I fished 20 years ago, I used a Rapala split back minnow. It was a shallow hiving minnow, and when you jerked it, it looked like an injured minnow.
Hey Scott just wondering if you can do a video on a bait caster. I'm trying to learn more about them because I like bass fishing and I loose a lot of fish.
Another great video. Is there a "big swimbait" group of anglers on Lake O? Always thought big swim baits that replicate the golden shiner would work down there but I've never heard them mentioned anywhere. Good luck on the tour this year!
Well, Scott, I know you didn't do too well up here on Lake Guntersville not too long ago. But would you have any recommendations on areas up this way during the cold weather and the TVA drawdown to a winter water level? Down there in Florida or even in California (as someone made a comment about Matt Allen) nobody really has good tips on cold water pre-spawn, spawn, and post spawn, like when the water temps are in the 40's or so. But also just so you know, I do like all your work and Brandon is a wizard on filming and editing.
