Types of Teacher Education Programs:
Preservice,
Induction and
Inservice.
The three phases are considered as parts of a continuous process.
Pre-service teacher education is the education and training provided to student teachers before they have undertaken any teaching.
The induction phase of training is designed to make newly appointed teachers familiar with the practices and activities of the institution where they are to be appointed.
In-service training programme or services is necessary to provide adequate professional training for effective teaching,to keep teachers abreast of new developments in the profession and to upgrade academic qualifications of teachers etc.
