Madam what about long term work permit ( d visa ) is it one of these that you mentioned? If yes then pls tell me the number from the list. Another question is as you mentioned it is not possible to change or switch jobs with a work visa. That is for how many years? Throughout I need to work with one company with that I have a work contract or say after 1 year I can change? If I have a work contract of say 1 year then is the company extend that ? If not that another company will give me job? Please reply and clarify my questions. Thanks in advance. 🙏
Hi, Visa D is valid for 90 days, as mentioned in point 1. This visa is typically the initial one that everyone applies for because it is faster to obtain, allowing for a quicker move. Once you are in Luxembourg, either you or your employer will work on obtaining either an ordinary work permit, which is valid for one year, or a Blue Card work permit, which is valid for four years. For most people, including us, Visa D expired within one week of arriving in Luxembourg due to long process. In next vlog will show the step by step process including visa D step followed by work permit step. Regarding your second question: If you are on an ordinary work permit, you must stay with the company that hired you unless another company agrees to sponsor your work visa. If your current company extends your contract, your ordinary work permit can be extended for another three years. For the Blue Card work permit, it is valid for four years, and you do not need to worry about sponsorship when switching employers, as mentioned in the video.
Mam, I will be coming to Luxembourg at the end of July as a research scholar at the University of Luxembourg. I have some doubts that I hope you can help clarify. Would fleeces, a puffer jacket that works at -5°, another one for 0°, some thermals, and woolen socks all from decathlon be enough to get through the winter in Luxembourg? I'm also planning to bring some cookware, even though the apartment I'm sharing is furnished. Can you suggest some cookware to buy in India that would work on Luxembourg's coil stoves? Since I'm from South India and haven't experienced a proper winter, I'm unsure about the proportion of winter to summer clothes I should bring. Additionally, I'm not sure what to wear in spring. Would a normal T-shirt and fleeces be enough for spring without a jacket? Are there any particular shoes required for winter? I'm planning to buy everything in India since it is cheaper here. Your videos have been very beneficial and helpful in my preparation for Luxembourg. Thank you.
