I love seeing mamas homeschool in the mid to high school years. I still have littles, so it provides so much encouragement seeing families thrive through all the ages! ❤
This was encouraging! I have 5th, 3rd, 2nd, 1st and prek this year and feel like I’m drowning and failing every day. It’s good to remember that one day they will all have more independence and we will survive this stage 😆
Laughed out loud a little on the parts that were sped up, noticing the difference in how much your boys move around compared to your girls. This is how my boys are too during school work-Active, squirming, need to move 😂😂 and my daughter could sit still for super long stretches. Thanks for this updated video! My homeschool days sure look different than they did when they were all in elementary. Finding a new rhythm with these growing kids is a major goal for me next year because I’m not loving how our days go currently. It feels very broken up and separated at times.
I’m laughing at myself but I am so tearful watching this! I remember when your youngest was in kindergarten!!!! Time just passes sooo fast! Thanks for encouraging me these last 5 years!
We homeschooled all five of ours together to and they were the happiest of times ❤. I have three adult children now who all still enjoy being involved in their younger children's schooling. Homeschool totally rocks!
Love this video and wish I was in this stage! I may be throwing in the towel next year after 4 years because my kids (currently grades 6, 4, 2, and pre-k) just seem to need help with every single subject. It’s stressful when I’ve only allowed a 30 minute time slot for a particular subject and everyone needs my help before proceeding. Would love to see a video on how to get your kids more self sufficient. LA takes us forever because I have to do spelling and reading individually with 4 kids. Our school days go from 8:30 to 3 at the earliest. Your day looks so efficient, I’m envious!
Hope y'all are enjoying A Place to Hang the Moon! We thoroughly enjoyed that book! Thanks, Ashley, for being a wonderful resource for homeschooling kids as they get older. Mine are all still young, but it is great to see how things evolve and change.
I struggle so hard with getting through our morning time! That’s my favorite part too but oh my gosh it takes so long sometimes. I really need to work on it
LOVE this. What a blessing to have the 4 that are able to do their studies together. My 9th grader takes band and HVAC/R at our local high school so it makes our family time and school time a little wonky, but we make it work. My 6th grader and I are going to start an apologetics/Christian worldview course from Summit Ministries after we come back from Spring Break. I’m so excited for it!
Thank you for your dedication and time that goes into making your videos! I have been watching for 5+ years and have modeled our school flow off of yours. I don't know how successful we would be if not for your example ♥️
Curious as to what time 'you' wake up and what all you accomplish before the 8:30 start time? How and when do you fit in a workout, and do you ever have 'me' time?
I looked at non consumed because of you using it. However, after a check that I do on all materials to ensure it's completely non-denominational and not influenced by any religion or philosophy, I was able to learn she considers herself reformed which is a no for me. I did send a follow up email asking if she believes in predestination and didn't hear back. I'm not surprised. It all matters thou.
Ashlee, how often do you let your kids goof around, joke with each other, tell you stories (say, during morning time), etc during school time? I have a couple kiddos that are goofballs and love to talk and it wastes so much time yet I want to encourage conversation during morning time. Do you have a way to keep this balanced in your home?
How do you wake your children for the day? Do you have alarm clocks in their rooms, natural waking or something else? We struggle with morning motivation, especially over the winter when it's darker outside in the mornings.
We try to finish by lunch as well, with mine being a bit younger than yours after lunch always seems to be a bit of a struggle. Curious what your children like to do after school on days you do finish early (12:15pm!)?!?!
No it’s their own system and I haven’t done anything with it because I won’t have my kids retake anything. So I’ve never altered or messed with the parent side. Sorry I can’t help more!
Hi, Ashlee! Silly and random, but I noticed a really nice camel colored bag by the door. Is that a bag you love? Do you have it in a favorites video anywhere. I was trying to think back, but don’t remember. I’m hoping to find a nice camel bag for the spring and summer. I usually carry a black bag, but would like to lighten it up this year. If possible, could you include a link?
Thank you for sharing, Ashlee. I'm curious about the art your 5th grader is doing. Is it from The Good and the Beautiful? My son is asking for something, and you know there are so many options. Any recommendations?
Hey it's Sohit....lots of ❤ Love from 🇮🇳 .... Love each and every video 🎥... Specially the way the day is spent ... .. Keep it up... You inspire us a lot...
What do your kids do while reading aloud happens? Seems like you do a lot of read aloud and I love that. But feels like my kiddos need something to do while listening. Do yours listen and not doodle or need to doodle. If they need to, what do you allow them to do? Thanks for doing this video!
How do you figure the high school credits for your older kids?? My oldest is going to be in high school next year and I’m feeling so apprehensive about how to do his transcripts and credits.
@@GraceandGrit I caught that. I was just curious how long they spend on history, science, math, Spanish individually etc. I try to limit the subjects my kiddo is doing but often times we're not stopping until supper and then she STILL has homework and that's not what I want for our homeschool
This was encouraging! I have 5th, 3rd, 2nd, 1st and prek this year and feel like I’m drowning and failing every day. It’s good to remember that one day they will all have more independence and we will survive this stage 😆
