Typical Rural Village of MALTA, Mġarr In An Isolated Area Of Malta 

Hello Steve, Thank you for another good one. I remember St Julians in the 1980s. There were new buildings but also streets of buitiful stone houses that glowed golden in the right angle of the sun. I stayed sometimes at the Cavilieri at the sea front end of Spinola Road. Spinola Road was nice. There was Paul's store, where the locals bought groceries, and the (in)famous Oki Koki bar run by the famous Banis moter boat and water skiing character. There was the really good Rose and Crown pub run by my friend to this day, Francis Mazzelli, the China House, a decent Chinese restaurant, the Chicago Meat Packers, Dick's bar, and the Crow's Nest bar. You could spend many a good evening in that street. I went back a couple of years ago, when I was in Sliema, and Spinola Road was dead. The constant hammering of pneumatic drills, dust everywhere, and soulles apartment blocks up and going up all the way down. The EU and the Russian "investors" have done a great job in Malta. But I believe the place will recover when the EU is finished and gone. Nobody ever defeated the Maltese.

The church was surprisingly plain , unusual as I've visited quite a few and watching your videos they are usually very decorative. The village appears very quiet as well. Shame there are so few traditional houses left. Good video Steve👍

LOST IN SLEEPY VILLAGE OF MGARR /MALTA ⛪ 🎄. Amazing, the central part around the church hasn't changed much. Even "Il-Barri" is still there 🐰 🍽 😊. They started building that church in 1914 and finished it in 1946. Steve, I smiled when you said Mgarr is not that historic - Malta's OLDEST prehistoric sites of "Ta' Hagrat" and "Skorba" are infact there in Mgarr 😊. THANKS STEVE 🚶 🎥 👏 Cheers 👍 🇲🇹 ♥ 🇪🇺 ™

The bus was a 44. At the foot of the road, opposite the church, it turns left on its way to Mosta and Valletta. If you had walked that way you would have found Ta' Ħaġrat, a neolithic temple. You couldn't have got older buildings than that. You buy the entrance ticket in the small café where the bus stops.

12:23 "Frawli" means strawberry, not fruit. Visit the yearly festa frawli in Mgarr in April and you will see what this is about.

Hi, that's strange just like you I have driven through here many, many times and never really looked around although did stop once to try and see the church but it was all shut up but there was one door with glass and I could see in quite well, I also was surprised by the inside I could see. There is some old temples type historical remnants not far from the church but I dont know anything about them, thanks for showing us around Steve. 😊👍

by the way in gnejna bay if you till the end of the beeach and keep hiking you will see bunch of beautifut small beaches
