For my whole childhood, my mom owned an early-mid 1980's Volvo 244 in the same blue color. Watching this made a ton of memories come back. Glorious car.
Oh my, this makes me miss my old 240 ... Got a 940 , it's more 'sophisticated' and lacks mostly all of those lovely sounds ; But that B230 engine roar is very much the same, nice video! -
Over 40 years and 1 million miles in my 5th 240 now , i could not even begin to count how many times I've heard these wonderful sounds, music to my ears i guess, fantastic video 👍

Nice, mines a 1978 244GL too. Great models. I originally rescued this one from a wrecker as it was too good, then sold it a year or so later, then 4 years later randomly found it at another wrecker and bought it back again! Almost registered again now, just a rust hole or two to repair haha It spent almost its whole life on the coast of Australia in salt air so it’s a true testament to the rust proofing tar and galvanised steel that these had that this one isn’t rusted away by now!
Great video. I own a Beautiful 1990 Golden color Volvo 240DL , with 103,000 original miles . The sound of the doors , when they close, also has a distinct sound and they close so easy , without having to slam them.

The sounds of something properly made. Feels like you grab hold of things without having to fear it breaks. Nowadays I feel if I look cross at something inside the car it will fall off or stop working. Sensitive electronics bullshit made for anorexic people...
