@@rhaxers708 sorry but no, i’d have to disagree. there’s a point where your brain can’t process the wpm. your peak wpm will never be real time unless you have material already that you’re copying. that’s why when you do a raw wpm test you’re always 20-60wpm higher than lets say a quote test on type racer or etc

@@Satyam1681 I'm a Dvorak user myself, I'm 80 wpm and can't touch type in qwerty lol. When it comes to speed, the layout you use doesn't matter, which John himself has said before. A lot of the initial claims of Dvorak being faster than qwerty was done through Dvorak himself. Dvorak is superior, in the comfortability and efficiency department though.

The day before yesterday I thought my phone keyboard was messed up and I went to the settings just to know that it was on dvorak mode

The QUERTY layout was designed ages ago when its purpose was to prevent type writers from pressing the keys right next to each other to prevent the type writer from jamming from typing too fast. He is using the Dvorak layout which although isn't proven to be necessarily faster, is occasionally used in 200+wpm records. The reason you don't see him using the keys in the top left is because in Dvorak, those keys are fullstops, periods, semi-colons, etc. I'm not entirely sure why he hasn't repositioned the key caps to resemble Dvorak, but it could be because it's a rather experimental layout and for general use he prefers QUERTY. Also I just noticed that if you look just below the words he is typing you can see the Dvorak layout

Typical take for someone who is not a programmer. You literally type the same syntax over and over so there is no case when you need to type some random words. Also, all of popular keyboard layouts are optimized for typing, not hitting bracket, colon, and shift key. But there are some layouts that just do that where they have those mentioned key center in the keyboard, no joke. But no one uses them because there is a life outside coding.

100 wpm is phenomenal I'm sitting at around 82 wpm, wondering how I can improve 1. I type using 2-3 fingers and don't utlize my other fingers, gota learn to use them all 2. I use QWERTY and not Dvorak How about you? do you use Dvorak?
