No she don’t why would she regret yelling at her when she wanted her to win and she believed in her they still talk til this day YALL dtm and yall so insensitive grow up and get a life
classyboy04 but she yelled also because Tiffany did no cry. Girl.... just because she didn’t cry doesn’t mean she didn’t care. Everybody show emotions differently!
@@tyrabanksunlocked5632 Excuse me but even J Manuel.said he & the other producers on set was SHOCKED. how Tyra yelled at Tiffany! and NO it wasn't because she wanted her to win ..Jay said Tyra had been up for hours and hadn't had no sleep . Tiffany herself SAID She felt it was BS! and Tyra didn't really care about her ..Tiffany also said her grandmother told her if someone really cares about you they would NOT humiliate you on national TV.🙄
She’s being genuinely transparent and trying to offer another apology. Her answer is long because she’s giving context and showing she’s not skating past the issue and redirecting the issue. Blackface is a big mistake. That was not her intent but she understands the implications. She’s offering a big apology. I totally get it and respect her for it.
rachel ramsey the meat of the issue is that Tyra was one of few women of color in the modeling agency who started working from a young age. People were often mean to her and very critical. She internalized a lot of the verbal trauma and became verbal to others because of her pain. She looked back on the episodes of a project she created and saw flaws that she was unable to see while she was inside of the moment. She apologized. She’s human like you and I. Chill out. Nobody is perfect.
I can't stand her. I wish someone gave her a REAL interview and actually questioned her actions. These women just let Tyra talk on and on after one question. I wanna see someone really dish it out on Tyra.
"people didn't even know what a plus size model was'.... Yep and you bullied and shamed a model who was a perfectly healthy size because she was :gaining weight' - and bullied another for trying to explain herself. You legit walked all over people because of your name and superiority complex. Why not try on some sincerity for size. Then again, judging by your ego.. it probably wouldn't fit you. Irony
@@black-ij3ui yeah i forgot which model it was, but she ended up gaining like 10 pounds, and instead of helping her or saying she could be a plus size model because she was still healthy, they kicked her the same episode they said she was bigger
Oooh I remember Keenyah from Cycle 4 when I was young I saw that episode where they were playing with her bulging stomach while posing as an elephant. Maybe that time people found it funny but now that I have gained weight from meds and depression, that's messed up
Right, she said people that have evil intentions got it like something evil hahaha So, if you think she did wrong is because you are negative, and she is sorry for that, for the people getting it "wrong"
@@hildelisapaulin Exactly, she's trying to gaslight the people who were offended by her offensive idea as if they are the ones in the wrong instead of her. In my opinion the hosts did a TERRIBLE job during this interview and played along with her instead of holding her accountable, but I can't say I'm surprised. Most pointless interview ever lol
Because she's got enough stans that will twist her words to make them sound pretty. And she's got money, and well know rich people never actually get held accountable for shit.
Not every person lives in shame of their past mistakes. Tyra has always been a very confident and positive woman. It would make sense for her to logically assess where she went wrong, but not relive it. Shame is never useful.
Exactly 💯 Her fans keep calling her strong & confident but she's still insecure and somewhat narcissistic. I remember for YEARSSS she kept talking about Naomi (who's also problematic) The genuine apology she DESPERATELY wanted from Naomi, who wanted nothing to do with her.....is exactly what she REFUSES to do, for those past contestants, who she & her employees mistreated for over a decade 🤔
Most celebs with this kind of personality only apologize AFTER they've been caught and exposed. Besides, it's not the public Tyra owned an apology to. It's the girls on her show who developed PTSD b/c of her attitude towards them.
Making fun of skinny girls for being “fat” making them dress like elephants, almost none of the girls actually being models after the show, yeah you were really onto something and really wanted to be diverse Tyra
Also there was only one plus size model on the show, in all the 17 seasons or so. She was absolutely not about body diversity or any of the lies she pushes. She just wanted to do what was marketable, which was catering to European beauty standards. Trailerblazer my ass. She is not a leader or someone ahead of her time. Ugh she's so gross. In another ten years time, she'll be even less popular and relevant, so that makes me happy. She remains in the past.
Shes apologizing for ppl not watching her show and them not knowing from that. Tyra is trying to cover her ass saying she didn't know but if you're in the industry you know. Watching top model now blows my mind with those stupid weird challenges. When some models even said that's not the modeling world that had some experience.
Is it me or she is not really apologizing but justifying herself while taking the lead of this interview while the interviewers only nod their heads giving her the reason?
There is nothing wrong with apologising while still explaining the reasons behind your actions. It's not justifying. It's just saying "My intention was not bad but I know I messed up and I apologise".
Woah. Tyra is really toxic. I fully respect whoever survived antm. She's a big bully and until now, she doesn't feel sorry how she said so many bad things to the girls.
@@etherealaffirmations645 lowkey i feel like this is pedantic. apart from the possibility that she may have apologised to them by now, she's trying to hold responsibility for the entire negative cultural shifts she influenced. this is a very real and much bigger situation than just the girls that got mentally scarred - we can learn to protect ourselves from those people just by watching. but the elements like blackface and the gap teeth are not so obvious to the average watcher and that's where the real mass influencing was made and what she is rightly trying to take responsibility for. you really have to see the bigger picture here
Black people can be racist too lol. I've seen black people be racist against darker colored People, I've seen then be racist against white people. If there's a race, they can be racist against any race, including their own.
@@maxwellgrimsley that's called colourism. People from the same ethnicity think that they are better than other because they have a lighter complextion. Something forced on us during slavery. I wish it could stop because in my country alot of people bleach their skin because thats what is considered beautiful. I am bullied for the colour of my face which is hyperpigmentation because the rest of my body is a lighter brown. Watching antm again made me more insecure about thing such as my nose, body type, my hair, e.t.c .If the world could normalized certain ethnicities that would be the best thing ever😧
It's like she's bragging bout how proud to her to be born into a biracial family and made black people as the bad guy, such a interchangeable excuse of a so-call light skin person.
@@ElanaVital83 So how exactly did she have to phrase what she was saying to not come across as narcissistic? What specifically did she even say to be narcissistic?
I watched many of the ANTM seasons but realize that the girls were used, mistreated and taken advantage of. The girls thought they were in a modeling competition when they were actually on a manipulated version of a reality show. Tyra says she was promoting diversity in beauty and opening doors for the girls to get modeling work but I think her “intentions” got skewed as the contestants got screwed.
I COMPLETELY agree! Where were all the hard hitting questions?! She needs to answer for more than 2/3 occasions that she was anti-black/problematic - especially when she conveniently only talks about the points she can wriggle out of - and they LET her wriggle out too damn easily.
Rolayo Jemima you’re absolutely right. She chose this interview because it’s going to make her look good. Any interview that starts with the interviewers claiming their love for the interviewee has lost any objectivity and can be considered propaganda. Tyra is doing her media rounds in prep for her new role in Dancing With The Stars. Thank you for your insights!
Omg she is a piece of work. "Oh I've apologized so everything's okay". She doesn't sound remorseful, she's just yapping on about how much of a ground breaker she was. Truth is she acted disgracefully and she is a poor excuse for a human being including all the other judges and producers on the show.
Remember when Heather (cycle 9) passed out/became ill one evening while filming a music video, because she hadn't had any food since breakfast. Also Angelea (cycle 14) described in an interview how contestants often don't have access to food for many hours while filming. Antm was an unhealthy environment in many ways.
The fact that she came from a biracial family seems like she's proud being light skin and lower down black people, she's basically the "hi,I'm biracial and I accept minorities!" type of so-called light skin person we would ever meet.
@@hazeeqrazak that's blatantly false. Both of her parents are black PERIOD www.google.com/search?q=TYRA+BANKS+PARENTS&sxsrf=ALeKk02bEzRT7ah1H3F5g13ORGtnyng46Q:1608452205878&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjd9Pmyj9ztAhX5Mn0KHbwABUsQ_AUoAXoECA4QAw&biw=1276&bih=688#imgrc=L4E-AI7DYt78nM

@@Eartlyimprintparanormal nah I believe in giving ppl second chances tho. Cancelling her when she owned up to her faults and even said she regrets it and cringes watching it.
As a model myself I get her and I applaud her for there were many times in my life I too have done things I thought was a way to help someone but they took it in the reverse, yes I've done things with the best if intentions but they turned out bad and all I could do is apologize like her, I also learned that there are those perfect people out there who apologies never works for cause they would much rather see you as bad in their minds, the apologies are never good enough or real enough, their need to see you as bad is so strong that they block out any good you might show, sad and frightening, but they're out there, so who's really bad.
🤔 hmm conveniently she didn't acknowledge her anti-black comments about Yaya. Cause you can't brush that off as "industry standards" her opinion was Yaya was too Black.
@@jayhong2654 but Tyra goes on and on about how her show was to celebrate diversity and individualism. Yet she tells the proud black girl that she's too proud and can't be pushing her blackness in everyone's face. How is that celebrating her. In fact what she did was worse because she was such a hypocrite about it
@@jayhong2654 if she was a beauty crusader she should have understood. she should have made that change. she knows her light skin and light eyes helped her get into the industry. so bullying a dark skin girl was her thing coz she was accepted by the white community as the token black girl that helped the industry look diverse when in fact she was the acceptable colour for white ppl to keep her.
She has no warmth in her personality. I hear her talk, but she's like a mean girl in high school trying to talk herself out of the mean things she did.
Exactly and this is what I saw aswell. I understand some people just see it as her explaining and answering a loaded question..BUT, she over answers in a way where she is trying to justify her actions. I agree with alot of what she had to say, but it was all taken in defense. Her cruel, manipulative, blunt, body shaming comments could never excused. Those poor girls went through so much emotional abuse and it was all on Tyra.
Tyra literally “apologized” before by saying “sorry if anyone THINKS this is blackface, sorry if you’re too ignorant to understand art” and she completely dodged that in this interview.
Well she was right. I mean it’s obviously bot blackface as that is a way to ridicule Africans, while this was celebrating inclusivity so people should get a grip and realize that the hate they feel is their problem, and not a reality of what the show was portraying.
Commentator541 as a black person, I will say that she tried to celebrate colour- however, my colour is not a fashion statement. I have no hate towards anyone and I appreciate that she realised her mistake, but there’s image issues that a lot of young girls go through that isn’t widely spoken about enough, which causes people to be unaware that it exists. I think the photo shoot she’s talking about was quite tone deaf in that sense. Her intension was definitely pure but she definitely went about it the wrong way.
This interview it’s all set by tyra 🙄 look at those girls they just nodding to whatever tyra said . Sometimes i wish she did the interview in wendy William show !!!
She made one of the black contestants kiss a male model who was openly racist and then they cut the contestant when she became visibly upset (literally crying) about the situation.
It's unreasonable to think that Tyra should have been 20 years ahead of her time in 2003 and should have created a show that aligns with the social values of several years in the future. SO much has changed - rapidly. When you know better, you do better. It's worth noting that the real modeling industry was far more backwards at the time than anything that was shown on Top Model. She is correct when she says that the show was pushing boundaries back then. You guys just forget. Some of you probably weren't even born. Tyra is just a person like the rest of us and she would't make the same show today.
Remember when she told a girl she needed to box dye her hair red when she had said how much she loved her natural hair because she worked so hard to love it but Tyra said “it’s not marketable” so eventually she gave in. And then they literally eliminated her after taking away the hair she loved?
Oh man Cherish ♥️ she had virgin red hair, never dyed before. I thought they actually ruined it by dying it and then they eliminated her :/ it was Rita Ora season.
Intention doesn’t matter when these models careers went down hill because of it. Intention doesn’t matter when you destroy peoples mental & emotional health. Intention doesn’t matter when you’re still wealthy while they struggled financially.
Ayanda Mthembu Please don’t be dense. You should be able to infer what is wrong with it. However, if you need somebody to s-p-e-l-l it out for you, I will.
i think she’s just defending herself after receiving so much backlash but she’s still taking accountability. not to mention she has a lot to be proud of. she seems humble enough to me while not downright degrading herself.
As always, Tyra made it all about herself. 🤦♀️ Just like when a girl brought up how she felt uncomfortable and Tyra would always make it about herself.
She talks about culture and skin color, well I'm British blonde hair and blue 🔵 eyes, but I'm also Dutch, French Canadian, Scottish and Irish, but know one seems to care about that!
@@holy9781 “it was a show” is insensitive comment considering sonme girls almost died from doing certain things. It’s easy for ppl like YOU to say this as you never were a contestant on it. It being a show is no excuse for certain things being done
"Unique beauty crusader" 🥴 Boiiii Tyra almost gave me an aneurism when she said that. If she truly was a crusader, she would have been an actual motivator and a guide for the girls she brought in. Instead, she stuck them in 20 degree freezing rooms with barely anything on, pushed girls who were uncomfortable posing intimately with a man, yelled at girls for not crying after they have been eliminated, and made them read complicated texts so they could publicly mock them. Yeah, TyTy trying to say she "evolved" with the times? What a joke. All the examples I listed above is something a human with common decency would have not done. Tyra loved publically humiliating and making the girls uncomfortable in any way she could. She is a raging insecure narcissist that couldn't help lashing out her insecurities and struggles on others. She owes a lot of girls an apology.
It's sad that she continued the toxic misogyny and mistreatment of models that victoria's secret was known for. She has so many opportunities to empower young models and make statements about the industry. Instead, she profited from exploiting "her girls" personal insecurities for ratings, failed to prepare or support them after the show ended, and consistently ignored their physical and mental well-being. I was rooting for you Tyra but I'm disappointed
So there were over 20 seasons of ANTM, so surely somewhere midway the team could have done some reflecting and realised things were not right (eg the bullying and uncomfortable photoshoot situations) and needed correcting.
From my understanding the producers had way more to do with what is portrayed and shown editing wise when it comes to the show than she did. Tyra is the face of the show but even Nigel said in his exit that Tyra has nothing to do with the judges contracts leading me to believe that she’s not fully in charge. I’ve watched a lot of documentaries about reality tv and 9/10 scorned cast members say after their exit that the producers run, pay for, and are the deciding factors of everything that goes on. Even though Tyra is named as an executive producer, the real decisions are made by the networks and who is financing the show which was not her. Not arguing, just sharing what I’ve learned
We are judging her with today's rules for something that was almost 20 years ago... we all saw the show and at the moment we didn't see the mistakes because our mind and Knowledge was not at the level society is today! Even fashion industry was way different back in the day stop acting like she is a monster
No plenty of things like the race shoot were criticized during the time tyra even talked about it ok her show. But accountability is a good thing even though yes some stuff did reflect the time.
@@ohshenatural9307 yeah and she explained again in this interview and honestly I believe her even Jay Manuel said that there were not bad intentions with those photos. A bad decision? Absolutely but everybody learns and grows
I don’t understand why people hate her. She is obviously remorseful. And she did and continues to apologize. She admits to being ignorant. She is just very intelligent and she can verbalize her mistakes from a place of wisdom not from a place of self-pity.
people are being too harsh rn, tyra is explaining what happenned and not just justifying and excusing herself from the blame, understanding how she processed everything and why she acted how she acted can help more than hurt. i love how graceful and cheerful she answered it because it shows that she prepared herself to be able to take this situation and turn into a conversation that will celebrate diversity which was the initial failed intention 20 years ago hahaha
While Tyra comes on this show, smiling, laughing, talking about how to be a good person, and treating others properly, etc... *SOME* of us know better. We *know* Tyra loves to put on an act. I'm 34 years old, I've watched ANTM from the first season, and I watched her talk show (the Tyra Show). Someone I went to school with was actually a guest on the Tyra Show (her, her boyfriend and her mother). All three of them said she was so nice and sweet to them while the camera was rolling...but during breaks she was rude and demanding to her guests and staff. She tried saying something to Tyra during a break and Tyra just looked at her as if to say "did I ask you to speak to me" and just continued to ignore her. Tyra didn't shake their hands, thank them for coming on, or speak at all after the camera was off and was just all around a VERY rude, VERY intitled person! And anyone can look for this yourself. There are HUNDREDS of stories about people and their negative interactions with Tyra... This isn't just a "mistake" Tyra made...it's OBVIOUSLY just how she is...it's her personality. That many different people can't have the same experience with the same person and it just be a fluke or a bad day for Tyra.
Right? I cannot stand her. I came here in hope of genuine apology. What did I get? A narcissist justifying her actions, promoting her book and talking about how helpful she was for the modelling industry and humanity as a whole. And the worst thing is, so many people believe the bs she says.
@@yeshalloween omg THAT'S the word?? I'm so embarrassed but thank you! 😅 edit: ACTUALLY I looked it up and ingenuine is in a fact a word and it means what meant, so
I like what she said. Honestly I never thought she was going to speak about this. She was humble enough to say she lacked knowledge and character back then.
I kinda feel bad for her. That stuff has been on tv and rerunning for two decades. People were fine with most of that then. It’s just that it is televised. It’s not fair when that was the status quo. Everyone ate it up at the time. Tyra doesn’t truly feel guilty either. She knows she is playing the long game.
I agree. I'd rather hear someone's reasoning for their actions, what their goals were etc, then a fake apology or just ignoring the issue all together. So I can appreciate what she said. Nobody is perfect. We're all learning and growing and she has acknowledged her mistakes
You just know accountability just flew out the window when Tyra starts off by saying how she “opened so many doors” for these girls who had so many bad experiences on her show. 🙄 Tbh, this doesn’t sound anything like an apology.
# of all that beauty Tyra Banks is downright ugly and that attitude cost her her reputation and she'll never be on any shows ever again just like Oprah Winfrey # HALLELUJAH 👍
“If they wanted to fix teeth or whatever they said that they needed to fix in order to work in this industry” Isn’t she the one that was bullying one of the girls because she had a gap in her teeth? 🤔
Wow Tyra Banks being Tyra Banks "Me so beautiful, Me the smart, Me what I think is the greatest, Me the entrepreneur, ME, ME, ME and ME" "AND NOW I HAVE TO APOLOGIZE BECAUSE YOU YOUNG PEOPLE DON´T UNDERSTAND IT" ...
I used to love, loveee, LOVE tyra banks growing up. Couldnt wait to get home from school to watch her show. Watch almost every movie she has starred in. As i got older, and seeing what i see now, i just feel like she is sooo fake, full of bs and full of herself. Even with this apology, i felt as though it wasn't genuine at all. Shes been acting and been on camera for so long, she knows exactly what to do or say to save her own ass so she doesnt get "cancelled".
I get what you're saying. Tyra was one of the models who changed the perspective of the modeling industry when it comes to black women inclusion along with Naomi she should have stuck to that and not trying to take away from another black girl and telling her she's too much because Tyra has been there and she should have been the voice of change Yaya and all the other black girls needed the world to hear. The world is changing because people are changing, voices of change is what we needed not acceptance. That change could have happened back then too but people choose to be wishy washy and pretend that racism doesn't exists.
@@vsfs.compendium I never said I know so much better, I definitely won't be telling anyone they're being too Asia, too white, too black, too Indian especially if it's who they already are!
Listen I know she’s super dramatic and she made mistakes, and she talks about herself a lot but, I think I’m going to give her the benefit and say her intentions were good, I remember watching the show as a young impressionable kid and wishing I was a model, but 20 years ago the industry was rash and harsh and 20 years later I’m a beauty and fashion photographer and it’s still not where it needs to be but growth is happening and I think growth in humans is beautiful and Tyra is growing... I don’t love all her answer and I don’t love how she treated the girls at panel looking back but to be human is error... 🤷🏼♀️ my humble opinion. Love everyone and don’t cancel people due to mistakes.
exactly this is all i'm trying to say I feel like the people in these comments hate her so much they can't get past the fact that when this show aired a lot of the absurd thing being done and said didn't have consequences nor was accountability being taken for them.I'm not denying that her responses sound narcissistic but looking past that a lot of the stuff she's saying is true.
I totally agree with you they have to learn modeling is extreme doing winter shoots in the hot summer and. So forth some of these ppl dont understand tht
It's fine for you to feel that way because she's famous and that can blind you a bit. But if you choose to turn a blind eye to people in your real life who show this kind of deception it's going to bite you sooner or later
I wish this interview happened with past contestants that she abused asking her for explanations and whatever else they needed to hear from her. That would’ve been interesting.
Chile bye. I was in like 8th grade when 5hat show started. I was disgusted she did blackface and I knew what it was. I know good and well Tyra, being about 15 years older at least, knew what blackface is. I dealt with ppl who SAID it was ok and did BECAUSE Tyra did it. No I dont think she had mal intent. But she caused major damage to black people. And thats just one thing. She did a lot of hateful things to those girls.
I'm white and I was even yelling at the TV back then. If I were asked to do that, I probably would have absolutely said no and told them they needed an actual black or African model doing the shoot.
Right?! I mean Tyra can't be that stupid. I just heard excuses with thr blackface incident. Wrong on many levels. All people know that blackface is wrong. Just because your black, Tyra, doesn't mean you get a pass for doing that process.
I think Tyra is someone who went through a lot of "edits" in her appearance, presentation, and behavior to become a supermodel, a star, and a mogul. So a lot of ANTM was about her trying to coach these girls into being malleable - and teaching them it's a business where you have to cater to it to excel. Now she's getting backlash for essentially having that "corporate mentality." It's tough. I respect her hustle, but I also am a typical millennial who thinks the old school corporate mentality has to fade out. Regardless, I respect that she did what she had to to persevere. There's a beauty to the fact that my generation & Gen Z are saying, "enough's enough - we're changing the rules."
This is what I want to say to people when they say what she did was wrong , yes what she did was wrong but like you said you have to cater to the business to be successful and essentially that was what Tyra was trying to do . Prepare the ladies before they go out there .
It did not start with her and if you look at the top models today, what has changed? I'll wait 👂🏽 However, Tyra prepared them for the industry and she gave many ladies exposure that open up doors for them to magazines, commercials etc that they may never had a chance to do (because everyone is not going to make it in the mainstream media). So many ladies still were granted opportunities just from being on ANTM.
I have to hand it to her Season 1 right off the bat there was diversity and I love how this show actually celebrates diversity. However, the revelations from former contestants about the "characters" and the MALINTENT of portraying people a certain way, hmmmm I watched this show all the time growing up and I think I wish to this day that they celebrated Yaya. She is the woman we need today
as a black woman, I'm not cancelling Tyra. She put more models on than any other famous super model. This video isn't just an apology but she is explaining in hindsight so that the younger generation can understand the context of the series and understand her intent. At the end of the day the Tyra Show & Top Model did way more to help POC than hurt POC in the long run of Tyra's legacy.
Yep and the episode where the male model was racist and said he didn't like black girls and they still kept him around and made the black female model do the shoot with him. Plus, another season where a male model was pretty much sexually harassing one of them and they just ignored it. Back then, they just brushed evetythjng off. Watching these episodes now I just cringe.
That was very creepy, when she yelled at Tiffany. I always wanted to know what that was about. I thought maybe it was scripted. It's funny cause people was saying that Tyra look like the devil in that scene with her red hairstyle. Haha It could of been scripted or the behind the scenes suggestion for high ratings.
This is what bothers me about Tyra. She’s the perfect example of a ego driving ego maniac who mask herself as an empathetic person. And that’s just makes me keep side eyeing her all the freakin time. Be careful with folks like this.
Agree!! All this time I wonder why she’s nowhere near Naomi Campbell status when she tried to make Naomi such a bully. I guess only people behind the scenes know.
I did not think that weighing the models in season one was that off base since it was part of the modeling industry. What was AWFUL was watching cameramen shove cameras in the private areas of young women during bikini waxes. That deserves an apology. That is just a breeding ground for people behind the scenes to share and use that footage for who knows what. So gross!!
One thing I can say is that Tyra has impeccable articulation of Public relations and damage control statements that could almost seem understandable, believable and forgiveable from her point of view. No wonder the Tyra Banks show was successful during it's run. She's quite good at explaining stuff, showing accountability and humility on all her mistakes throughout all cycles of America's next Top model.
Watching ANTM now makes you see it differently than back in the early 2000s. It was a different world then; conversations and sensitivities about race, gender and identity weren't yet embedded in the mainstream like they are nowadays. While tackling social issues head-on wasn't necessarily ANTM's bread-and-butter, the show did bring them into the spotlight in a way that resonated with viewers at the time. Its tone-deaf and WTF moments should be criticised and used in every 'lessons learnt'. But at the same time, its role in helping push these sensitivities into mainstream awareness should be acknowledged, even if it was a byproduct rather than a modus operandi.
She seems very nervous and her apologies are very disingenuous. Her "apology" for the mixed-race photoshoot literally is "I did nothing wrong except opening the door for you haters to hate on me". Wth is wrong with this woman? Someone needs to bring her ego down from cloud 9.
tomato soup yeah... that's what all people do... we are not robots who are supposed to live perfect lives in order to satisfy our "followers"... and I think it's none of our business why or how she did it... at least she said that outloud herself which is a huge step considering that our modern "stars" mostly try to fight back and never admit making a mistake
Can you imagine calling yourself a “beauty crusader” 🤦🏻♂️ Tyra is spectacularly narcissistic & this all seemed like a lot of hot air. For a real look at what Tyra is like look up an interview between Miss J @ Jay Manuel. The interviewers here were basically two nodding heads agreeing with everything Ms.Banks was saying - way to really hold her accountable ladies
Giving yourself bloated titles like that is something narcicists do - delusions of grandeur. I was actually cracking up listening to her talk. She's such a mess of a person, but that's putting it softly compared to all the women she hurt. Fuck her.
yep. at the end of the day, a tv show is a business and being sold to the public in a sense. and while tyra made mean comments, she wasn't necessarily always in the wrong. it was a team effort from ken mok, nigel, the jays, and guest judges, and andre leon talley that kind of influenced the behavior and treatment of the girls and guys on the show. i think they can all look back on ANTM and address the things they said and learn from it

Forget it. She is a black woman and she was promoting BLACK FACE (not one, but two times), the disrespectful way that SHE, TYRA was referring to cultural, religious items with phrases like: "Give me that thing" and even worst, the way she disrespected and yelled to Yaya about the "African" Hat is disgusting. That girl was uncomfortable with a reason because how she respects and loves her race and they treated her like SHIT. Another girl feeling sexually uncomfortable/abuse with a guy and Jay saying keep dancing with the guy or your picture will be bad. Weight mocking (the elephant thing... Was brutal even if elephants are such glorious creatures). Jay Manuel... A BULLY!!! Janice... A BULLY!!! And even Nigel said pretty bad stuff. "We fail like 5 times", No Tyra... Like 50 times or more. "We all make mistakes"... Well... A Black woman promoting black face TWO TIMES, because they didn't learn the first time is not a "We all make mistakes" and yelling to girls??? Excuse me you crazy... Have some respect. They took this girl's to bully them and disrespect them as if they were not human. Disgusting show no matter when it was done.
@D Leo she got yelled at for NOT CRYING, for not making Tyra feel like the god she thinks she is. So really who's the snowflake, here? Other than you, I mean.
@@saralaghmari1123 I feel like the Tiffany situation was built up because she'd given up a long time before the teleprompter thing it way truly more about a wasted opportunity the whole show was about being America's next top model and shaping them to get an amazing opportunity. IDK it just sucks when someone half-a**'s something that your so passionate about and wastes their opportunity when it could've been used by someone else I truly don't believe the yelling was about her not crying Tiffany was really laughing taking it as a joke after all her family sacrificed to get her their.Even if the modeling industry isn't important to you replace the scenario with something your passionate about and someone taking the opportunity from you then not even trying to win with that opportunity.Every thing Tyra said I was thinking but I probably wouldn't have yelled at her in front of everyone but the excuses she was giving like i'm tried of crying about things she can't changed pissed me fr literally only one girl supposed to be eliminated at a time but Tiffany was clearly bsing and gave up.
@@kourtneybryant9991 i mean yea your right but why would she yell at her like that and plus she don't know peoples emotions what if she was hurt inside? i mean yelling at a person just add more pain inside so. idk if you understand what I'm saying lol.
Tyra is smart enough to know that whoever become the default winner for cycle 17, she will receive so much backlash. So rather than doing disservice to Allison and her brand, she/they decided to gave it to Lisa instead whom they know can handle the criticism and backlash. Right now just be glad Allison don't have to explain why she is the winner instead of Angelea.
But back than it was normal like especially in the 2000's people even made fun of LGBTQ & plus sized people on TV shows & movies I'm not trying to justify what she did but I think people should stop acting as if she's the only one who's given negative comments like that what's in important is that she's grew & learnt from that experience & apologized for it I'm gay who grew up in a Christian family so LGBTQ was wrong & shamed growing up so naturally I also made fun of them but years later I got educated on these matters & changed now I'm openly gay & happy☺🙉
How about endangering the models' lives countless times? Victim blaming a model who got sexually harassed on the set? Saying that having a disability is an excuse?
Okay, but not that doing black face and skin darkening on models tells others with bad intent that it's okay. The point is don't use white and non black people to say that black people are beautiful or mixed people, in the case of cycle 13, are beautiful. That's where the mistake was, Tyra. Not just because you gave a holes to green light, but because...you painted white models dark. That's ...the mistake.
Too many haters. Look, Tyra is human, humans make mistakes. No one is perfect, her even trying to apologize for her past shows that she understands what she did and is not proud of it. Yet y'all keep wanting to crucify her. No one knows what it's like to be in her shoes and no one ever will. So stop hating so much and move on. There's "good" and "evil" in all of us, how bout y'all focus on the good for once. Ffs...
They’re hating on her for not apologizing correctly for her racial insensitivity … without realizing they’re holding Tyra to a higher standard than other hosts because she’s a black woman. Please go after Jimmy Kimmel for his sexism on the Man Show. Go after James Corden for being an insufferable pr1ck. Tyra did her penance.
And that’s just what we saw on camera. A lot of the girls say they used to starve them to get them in a hangry mood on the shoots for dramatic purposes. They also said they had to pay for their own food and paid them less than minimum wage.
I never watched ANTM when I was younger. And after hearing all these stories, I’m glad I never did. It’s horrible when a successful person…..who thinks they have a lot of power uses and abuses it. No wonder she’s unwanted as a dwts host.
She was a victim of bullying c/o Naomi Campbell. But now she thinks she's conquered that experience by being the worse systematic bully herself. And ironically now, a lot of her celebrity friends like Jay Manuel hate her and have turned on her while Naomi "Cellphone Thrower Anger Management" Campbell is absolutely adored by her longtime friends and coworkers.
She owes an apology to jay manuel!!!!! I think the only reason she apologize was because Jay Manuel did his jay chats and spoke what really happened behind the scenes. I feel her apology was not genuine!!!!
It’s crazy how we cancel culture everyone, but not her. The comment section for this video is how we should speak of all these celebrities we “cancel” for a single mistake they made in their past. Let people learn from their mistakes, and continue to grow and morph into a better version of themselves.
she hasn't as evidenced by her inability to address the question head on instead of wrapping it in her "accomplishments" however misguided they may have been. If i hear her say "me" "i" or "my" one more time...
I agree... so many people have been "cancelled" due to past mistakes. Some are given another chance, some are not. It's allowing some another chance and not others
Stop with the hate comments on this woman nobody dragged these gals to the show. Haven't y'all made mistakes you never realised you are making. Her intentions were good. Jesus loves you despite of your wickedness. No one is perfect
I actually agree with Tyra. I saw all the early seasons & this show in particular. I didn't see it as racist because I understood the intent. They all looked beautiful. I get today's point too but it does come down to intentions if I feel someone is being racist towards me personally. You can't always know someone's DNA by a skin tone. Everyone is beautiful in all their uniqueness. It's not the same world as 10 - 20 years ago. Especially in fashion or the trending beauty world. I'm glad Tyra can speak honestly, her truth, on things from those old shows. People watching it now like it is happening now, times were different in the past decades.
