Yeah I think there going to do asartes at first seeing how that's where there money is at the moment there probably doing most popular so I do think eldar will get it before tyranids but heres hoping
@@MagikarpUsedFlylol You don't play Tau , laughs in 2500 points of tau. Honestly though I compare my sisters codex and tau one and Jesus Christ it makes me sad for tau now but hopeful for future tau.
Necrons are likely a while out since they were just finishing the army at the end of the tournament so they’re likely going to try and learn more about the army
Necrons are kind of tough for a tier list. Sure you got Scarabs and warriors up there, but then they have a very large roster of units that fit very specific roles, which mean they can play better than the sum of the parts
Matt, as a Magikarp fan, I've been wondering what it would take for me to fully understand and get invested in the more complex parts of your Warhammer world. The answer.... Tier lists. It was always tier lists. EDIT: Yeahhhh y’all know tier lists are like crack
Well, I'm only just discovering w40k and it took me almost five hour to read the downloadable codex and understand it. Also based on the prices on official site it would probably take you about 300 - 500 dollars altogether, that means units, paint, mats, books and landscape. But take what I said with a grain of salt, I've only recently started looking into it and have not even played a game yet. Edit: I typed this out on instinct and have only later considered that you may not hVe looked for an answer. Sorry
@@bojansarkanjac983 Not gonna lie I'm in the same situation. The game seems nice, the units are cool, the lore is very interesting but the ridiculous price is what held me back from playing the game. Idk about you guys but a unit already cost me 1 day eating.
@@ChubbyChoncc I agree. That's why I told myself I will try to follow at a slow pace for now and make a decision then. No point in wasting money if I'm not going to play it, even though just painting the figurines sounds like a blast. I love necrons, though so I know my starting army.
@@bojansarkanjac983 it is a great game, heaps of fun with a group of friends going into it at the same time as you, if the price is too steep for you you can always buy second hand, it's how I got most of my armies, a bit of methaled spirits or simply green can be used to remove paint and if you still think it's too expensive, table top sim has a big playerbase for 40k and kill team
"they're garbage, actually, they're great, actually no they're garbage" LOL I don't know the first thing about warhammer but this videos are entertaining
I think you mean one minute, as the video will start, the host will look at the camera, then they will declare that every custodies unit is S tier, then the video will end.
Regular fexes are underrated. If you use prey sight as one of your two blood of ball hive fleet adaptations they get +1 to hit on charge. OOE gives them another +1. Also if you give them 2x massive scything talons with tusks and bone mace they get 6 attacks +1 for bone mace.
That used to be called the "Shovel-Tusker" Carnifex, and you're right, for a battering-ram approach/OOE bodyguard, they're pretty good. Getting them up the board is the problem though.
From one of my favorite League youtubers to being part of by far my favorite warhammer youtube group. All the content fuckin KILLS it with information and personality. So glad I followed this venture yall made!
I’m hoping to make my own tabletop game one day. I like watching your tier lists to help get a good understanding of what makes a unit good/bad. I really enjoy Tabletop games - let alone Warhammer 40,000, and I hope I get to create a community as awesome as their’s one day.
Games of the same genre can be very different in what similar mechanics are god sends or garbage. For example, in Pokemon it's totally viable to have cards that require a coin flip, some of the best cards have coin flip effects. On the other hand, coin flip effects are the absolute worse effects you can get in Yugioh because in Yugioh there's a good and bad effect, plus Yugioh players want consistency and certainty in what their cards do. Ultimately a good or bad unit in your game will be based on other options for units and the rules of the game.
Same, I want to help my friends to get into the 40k universe sadly we barely have any money to do so. Right now I just annoy them with warhammer lore stuff. Hoping for a rts warhammer 40k game in the future : ^)
Matt ranks Tyranids! feat. Matt Love the content as always! I heard you're gonna start doing that anyway, but I will say it just to show support for the idea: edited battle reports! 60-120min of pure bliss! Please!
Pretty much everything needs a buff in the Nid codex, with the exception of Hive Guards, Exocrine and Zoanthropes. Hopefully the new codex will adress alot of issues and improvements to them when it drops.
Hey DiceCheck. Would love to see a video of all your guys armies and painting schemes! Think it will be awesome to have a nice close look at your models and maybe the reasons why you picked each model for your army! :) Love the content!
This is game is 1st and foremost about playing with the toys you think are cool and creating stories. The competitive scene is nice, but honestly "tacked on"
I know Matt low plays his energy and effort of his videos but I know he is putting alot of effort into these videos. That makes me happy, I can see the effort and love he is putting into these warhammer clips and trying to expand his channel. Keep up the great videos man, you and the crew should be proud.
This is the army I choose and I started collecting models about 3 months ago and these videos are helping me learn what is good and bad and how to play.
Watched start to finish, now commenting to act as the Algorithm's blood sacrifice to the tyranid Hivemind. I'm just getting into 40K, so these videos are pretty interestin to watch with a pair of fresh eyes and ears on the scene.
Tyranids are dope and I have a bunch from playing Kill Team. I would like a follow up video that goes into greater detail describing "how to play tyranids", like what are you tactics, how do you use certain units, how do you create a decent list, adaptive physiology explained and stuff. great video.
Old One Eye was a super fun model in 8th. Hive fleet trait giving +1 to hit on the turn of a charge, +1 to hit as hes a Carnifex, +1 to hit on the turn of a charge from his own abilities. You can hit on 2s, re-roll 1s with scything talons and have a 3+ Dakka Dakka Dakka
Good content man. Plus going back with the faq to redo bits was fantastic. Have you seen Spiffing Brits video on community polls? Feel better and stay safe guys. "Warhammer" "tyranids" " 40k" " miniatures" "teir lists" " minecraft"
yeah imagine watching this guy in league videos some years back, starting new hobbies and watching about tyranids and having vietnam flashbacks about his face and how much i love him.......i paused for a good 5 min to make sure you are you and then i unpaused the video and you said i am magikarpusedfly and i died,hi love you
Great List, but I really hope 9th edition is when Tyranids finally get some new models, or at least buff some of the ones that are pretty much useless.
I've only played Tyranids a little, the Carnifex goes straight to A tier for me. Give it Adrenalin Glands, Toxin Sacs, Spore Cysts, Tusks, Bone Mace and Two of Monstrous Scything Talons. BAM. Now place six of them on the field with a Scythed Hierodule and you've got yourself an unstoppable tide. I love Carifex so much. Slightly terrified of the new codex, if they get a price hike it'll be brutal. I also hope Old One Eye gets a buff, in the same league as Mortarian, C'tan, Roboute, Ghazghkull etc.
They should atleast have 4++, and a 5+++ if the wound is a result of the "Shieldwall"-ability. They are being egged on by a Hive Tyrant to do fulfill their purpose for crying out loud. That melta round that turned their face to mush is naught but a scratch in the name of the Great Devourer!
I never comment on youtube videos, but I HAVE to stand up for Carnifexes. Theyre a staple in my Jormungandr army where I run 5-6 of them for anti-infantry and anti-vehicle. Run them with spores cysts, double devourers and heavy venom cannons. Spreads out your heavy damage so theres not one single target for your opponent. Ive shot knights off the table with them, and I love the look thematically. Great video though.
The Swarmlord has to be one of the most fun HQ's I've played in a while. His utility is great and he can do really good damage even unsupported. Also one of the most improved units from previous editions. The old Swarmlord was just depressing
I think the main reason that Scythed Hierodules rate lower on most people's lists is because it is in direct competition with the Dimachaeron. They are both attempting to fill the same role but the Dima does it better in basically every way. I've seen people that prefer the Barbed Hierodule over the Scythed make the compelling argument that it is a mobile weapon platform. Yes, an Exorcine is comparable in damage output IF stationary. The BH is more mobile with a base 8" move (only dropping lower than Exocrine at 4 or less wounds), has a higher Ld so less of a risk to letting it roam, has 12" larger range, can always fire both weapons, and by default has a better to hit, higher wounds, and is very strong in melee so it can't just be DS charged to deal with it. Give him a Winged Hive Tyrant buddy with Catalyst and Symbiostorm or a Maleceptor if you want Encephalic Diffusion and you can see why it is has been showing up in more tournament lists. In best case scenario it is roughly the same damage as an Exocrine. In worst case scenario it is far more flexible and can fill multiple roles as needed.
I just want to add to the Termagants equipped with Devourers (aka devilgants) will net you 90 shots for a full 30 model squad. 180 of you use the shoot twice strat.
As some on who has played Tyranids since they were a kid and is now 22 years old, I still have no idea how to play Tyranids. I do also have Salamanders which I do understand, and am even happier with them as flamers and melta weapons became more viable. I am heavily considering properly doing Genestealer Cults now, I like their ambush sneaky playstyle, plus they can make some nutty units like with the right setup you can have WS 2+, S 6, A5 Genestealers.
@@panKowalski597 Tau is VERY, VERY, bad in this current edition. The only way to make them work is dumping a fuckton of CP into detachments for commander spam. This isn't fun for anyone who's playing it, and any other viable strategy was fased out with 9ths focus on objective play.
Tyranids. You have my undevided attention and subscription. Also I woul dlove to see a deep dive for your key decisions of this list, tactical application and different tier list build ideas (f.ex.1000p - 2000P, Crusader rules) Just spurting ideas :)
Hey man was creating a army and looking up stuff for tyranids and realized you’re the magikarp used fly dude. Awesome nice to see you have class using tyranids:) and lictors are great, but people know they’re great. So when I’m playing my nuns with guns against tyranids these units are always on my early kill list also what do you think of the parasite of mortex
I'd like to see a video going over the different hive fleets, stratagems, adaptations and so on. The parts of the tyranid army that aren't the units themselves.
Love the Nids!!! Need a buff to the big bugs, I honestly got into them because of the the Carnifex and the idea of a giant alien with talons! Hoping we get that in the future 🙏 Also close combat
Haven't played in ages, thinking of coming back. Most likely last time I played it was 4th, so I expect things to have changed. That list really makes me want to come back with Tyranids. Carnies seems to rank super low, not efficient? Too squishy? Not specialised enough? Last time I wanted to come back I saw their dakka brainleech thingy were quite good.
They're just not resilient enough to be a factor at all and their points cost is high for what they offer, sadly. I have 4 of them just sitting around collecting dust.
I only take the red terror for how cheap the PL is. Deep strike with jorgmander hive fleet is a must for me going against my friends who bring in so many vehicles
I sometimes play custom hive fleet +1WS to monster and heal 1 wound at the beginning of the turn and roll a REALLY heavy list of monsters. Two mawlocs, 3 trygons, haruspex, six carnifexes, etc. But I do not deepstrike with Trygon, I personnaly believe that everything that deepstrike and does not shoot is going to do nothing the turn it arrives. So I walk my Trygon's with their delicious 9''. With the psychic power and swamlord, a Trygon can reach the front line of your opponent and beat a vehicule or Lord of War liike a pinata to omnumnum everything inside. XD
Exocrines, Hive Guard, and Neuro/Zoanthropes are A tier right now. Literally EVERYTHING ELSE is C and lower. The issues with units like the Broodlord is, while his is good “stand alone” he’s made to work with Genestealers. Genestealers are not in an awesome spot right now so that takes away from the value of the Broodlord. Honestly, lack of functional synergies are probably the biggest wet blanket for Tyranids right now. Also, Gants/Gaunts are only good when you take A LOT of them and they die super quick. They absolutely can’t handle contested objectives against most factions.
