This is impressive, but it is not entirely clear why he is doing it. Is it simply to take up less space in landfill, or do the bits get used for something ?

Get the poor hard working guy a table...my knees hurt watching him... but then they would have to get him a vise to, replace the use of foot to hold the tire...

I have a Bosch reciprocating saw that runs on the 18 volt system, and it's great for a few cuts,but then the batteries start to deplete. it's like cordless angle grinders- they work great, just not for long. However, get a demolition blade and it'll go through the steel belt and tread like butter, especially if you can hold the tire steady.

@@darknightwatcher I managed to do it with an extra long and strong jigsaw blade for metal. I've now got three large planters made from large lorry tyres with the sidewalls removed.
