The room was sharing Michael Jackson stories and Tyrese explained how the first time he met Michael Jackson was the time Michael stole his song. Indulge
I remember seeing in the credits that Tyrese wrote 2000 Watts and I was like wtf....now I know how that happened lol...but when MJ wants your song, you let him have it, period. You'll reap those hefty royalties
I bought the Invincible cd when it was released and when I heard 2000 Watts I thought someone screwed up and put a Tyrese song on the cd. I guess that’s how much Michael emulated the demo. But I scanned every bit of the credits and no mention of Tyrese vocals to be found. Tyrese is credited as one of 4 songwriters of the song. So MJ stepped outside his usual vocally but I would not be surprised to learn some of Tyrese’s demo leaked into MJ’s version. Tyrese has a good sense of humor about the “steal”. It’s a shame Sony basically trashed this cd. It shows how an older MJ could continue to thrive musically as the slower tunes (Break Of Dawn, Heaven Can Wait, Butterflies, Speechless, Don’t Walk Away, Whatever Happens [f/Carlos Santana], & Cry) are some of the best he ever released and 2000 Watts demonstrates a willingness to sing in a lower register. The cd still plays well today (21 years later). A lot of what MJ had to give us was stolen but I appreciate what we did receive from him.
Pure bullshit. I mean I like Tyrese Gibson but cmon man anything for clout these days just anyone and everyone gon say they knew mike personally. But stole your song? We’re talking bout the king here man this guy never had time for no one so I doubt he had the time to even talk to Tyrese or “Steal” his song lol. I mean he’s the king, I guess everyone just throw mikes name in anywhere for clout. Leave Mike alone and let him rest.
Michael’s been known to do some sneaky stuff in the music industry. Like buying the Beatles catalogue. Quincy Jones claims Mike’s been a thief, so Tyrese may be speaking facts.
I heard that MJ wanted to do his rendition of the song. Listening to Tyrese album of the same name, it sound nothing like the production on MJ's version. I know they refined it to suit MJ's style more. I'm glad he sold that song to MJ. Tyrese is a great song writer.
a lot of song in invisible are in category worst ", its cause of Rodney jerkins production. he should take " butterfly, break of dawn, heaven can wait " and trow all the other, and work with pharrell or dunno, to stop to search a producer " fashion "
Bro shut up he meant he got a cake smashed in his face by MJ at MJ’s birthday party at Neverland it’s footage of it I’ll send you a link if you want and a time stamp idiot smh😒
