Hey everyone! Join me as I watch Ice Age Continental Drift for the first time today!
I really thought that Gutt was just a joke villain at first and then he showed me that he means business! And Peaches is a Teenager now?!!?
Scrat's continuous pursuit of an infernal acorn has world-changing consequences for Manny (Ray Romano), Sid (John Alberto Leguizamo) and Diego (Denis Leary) when the continents split apart. The continental crack-up separates Manny and his friends from the rest of the herd, including Manny's mate, Ellie (Jennifer Lopez) and rebellious daughter Peaches (Keke Palmer). The pals are desperate to return home, but a pirate (Peter Dinklage) and his ragtag crew stand in their way.

Also, to answer your question about mammoths drinking with their trunk, they inly use it to suck up and hold the water before putting their trunk in their mouth. Drinking through the trunk would be putting water in their lungs

I love the fact that with peaches deal with being a teenager we all know what it’s like to be a teenager we all think we have to change or be a certain way to fit in but the best thing you can do is just be yourself and it doesn’t matter who you’re friends with a true friend won’t care what you look like or where you come from what even what your past or even your family is

I consider Continental Drift as one of my top favorite Ice Age films, next to Dawn of the Dinosaurs. I saw this one in 3D and it was loads of fun! The new cast of characters, (from Granny, Shira, Gutt, and his band of pirates) I enjoyed very much. Even the pirate song, I found to be pretty good, Including “We Are Family.” Thanks a lot for the reaction, Cody, and congrats on your new dog too!

As I've grown older with the franchise, the only plot that was investing for me to follow was that of Diego and Shira, and I dearly wish we got to see more of them. Their dynamic is actually really interesting and rather complex for a movie like this. They're by far my favorite couple. Her character design is also stunning in every way.

Dude same. In some of the other reviews I've watched, some people were unhappy with that pairing because Diego is supposed to be a loner or whatever, but they are my OTP. I just love the enemies to lovers and loners finding love.

@@titaaguilera3269 Well I think the idea of being upset at the two because Diego is supposed to be a loner is a little.. odd, being that you typically wouldn't want someone you like to be a loner, haha. Their dynamic was interesting, and you had to actually pay a bit of attention to understand why Shira was drawn to Diego, and why she practically sacrificed herself to make sure his herd was safe. Also, they're sort of made to be the sex appeals of the movie anyway. You can't tell me "Come on, tiger. Swim with me~" said in a seductive Jennifer Lopez voice means anything other than exactly what it sounds like, lmaoo

The main thing I love about this movie is that it shows how not all relationships with fathers and daughters are sweet and loving, it shows over protection, it shows a young girl trying to be to independent without considering the parents thoughts. It shows the father accepting that he can’t protect her forever but she’ll always be his little girl. It shows how all it takes to heal a broken relationship is to talk to each other. And how sometimes before you know it, it could be to late.

I remember the part where Scrat hang glides away, it was redone in another promotional trailer where the half-acorn was turned into bat ears, and the hang glider is black and as a promotional trailer for "The Dark Knight Rises", Scrat was labeled the "Dark Nut"

Very cool new animal selection here with gutt being a gigantopithecus the largest primate to ever live, basically an orangutan the size of an elephant and the island creatures are hyrax that are still alive and are closer to the elephant family then the rodents they look like

No wonder why Manny is an overprotective father, after what happened to his older family (remember the cave scene his baby and wife were killed in front of him)"U need let go of the last so u can have a future" SID.. btw I mean I kinda get why ppl dont like this movie that much, I mean its hella exaggerated Scrat cracked the earth and pirates appearing outta nowhere kinda random BUT I still enjoy this movie even tho is my least fav ice age movie still enjoyable(yes I prefer the collision course over this one but collision course also is the most hated one) But still good and the CGI is great Btw I felt so bad for scrat in this movie I know its just a cartoon but he was SO happy find the place and suffered a lot to reach that place and literally lost everything, even cried in the end

Fun Fact Captain Gut is based on the Gigantopithecus, a giant ape that went extinct roughly 300,000 years ago. They could stand up to 3 metres tall, or 9.8 feet tall and supposedly looked more like giant orangutan.

Not a huge fan of the Ice Age sequels. I loved the original for its dramatic and emotional moments, and the movies just kept getting goofier. I don't particularily like this one either, but the villain is amazing. If it were any other franchise, I'd like it way more just for him.

Fun fact for you: this movie is very very loosely based off Homer’s Odyssey. It’s got Scylla and Charybdis (the sea monster, in this case the crab and the giant whirlpool), and the sirens. And I’m guessing Switchback cove was meant to be like Circes island, because Circe turned all the men to slaves/animals when they arrived on the island, and the hyraxes were the slaves here

Oh, I'm kind of sad you took down your Toy Story 4 reaction. I know I liked the movie, but it was interesting to see where you were coming from when you didn't like it, and it helped me come to a better understanding of the criticism for that movie and maybe other movies as well and how different perceptions can make and break a movie in different people's eyes. But I also get where you're coming from, I like to be a positive person, and I don't like to see myself griping and complaining online either, even over things I care about. Either way, I understand, you were being open and honest about your feelings about the film, and I can respect that, but at the same time, you're here to have fun and enjoy movies, and you don't always want that negativity if you don't need it. Just make the videos you do enjoy making, and don't worry if it's not something you want to share.

I don't know if at this point you have already watch Ice Age 5 or decided not to but personally i didn't hate this movie, I didn't even know it was hated by peoples but I think it is a great ending to the story for lots of reasons I can't really tell without spoilers and I would even probably put it in my favorites of the franchise with the second one and the third one so definitely check it out 😁 (And if you end up don't liking it just don't upload the reaction)

You're not going to be disapointed in Ice Age 5. That movie is my second favorite Ice Age movie behind "Dawn of the Dinosaurs. I actually liked this movie and the next. Of course they aren't the best, but as kids' movies, they are still fun to watch. Then again, I actually liked Toy Story 4. Anyway, after watching Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, I recommend _Battle at Big Rock,_ and then _The Prologue - Jurassic World Dominion_ on or off camera. Both take place before the new movie, and together they take up at least 16 minutes total.
