Jeff Mayweather gives his thoughts on the split decision victory for Oleksandr Usyk over Tuyson Fury Be sure to follow us on Instagram! / mayweatherchannel
Usyk switched it up whenever the tides changed, so no matter what Fury did, Usyk had an answer...Usyk has too much experience and is a rock solid warrior.
Not necessarily. He could win on the back foot like he did against chisora but fury would be able to pressure Usyk better and his dirty boxing in the clinch is better if he made it rough against the ropes. He would also tire Usyk more if he fought like that but he didn’t. Maybe he couldn’t against Usyk but it’s probably the only chance he has in the rematch.
The trouble with Fury is he was ‘counterpunch happy’ he wanted it both ways. He wanted Usyk to come to him and so he could throw counters all night like the uppercuts. The trouble was Usyk was slipping his jab and throwing wide hooks around the outside of fury’s guard. In fact it was a southpaw right hook followed quickly by a big left that really hurt fury in the 9th. He basically stopped Fury in the 9th.
Great fight, Tyson thought he had the fight won before it was over but Usyk never gave up and won the fight. Plus Tyson is showing the effects of the battles he had been in prior to this fight.
Starting to watch this video, I did not expect that Jeff Mayweather's English will be much easier to understand for me (foreigner) than English of the interviewer. Crazy world!
@stactionmedia3318 exactly i would love a rematch , his nose got hurt and it put him off and usyk capitalised on it , he did get battered in the 9th and usyk deserved it , if his mind is right then he could win a rematch but he would need to come forward more i think , was a great fight and a great fight isn’t one sided , don’t listen to these fools .
The real robbery was the ref saving Furys ass in the 9th. Uysk had Fury out on his feet, the ref should have waved that off or allowed Uysk to continue until the finish.
I thought the ref was right to step in but he should’ve stopped it right after doing so. Save Fury’s health but don’t give him a chance to win the fight.
@@Knocksleyhe doesn't know boxing and is a fury hater... Only boxing fans will argue a guy who survived 20 mins after getting badly hurt was somehow knocked out... But survived 😂. Dudes are so dumb I see that all the time they don't always call it early
@@wavycrockett4261 He forced Fury in to the corners and to retreat, and Fury doesn't know how to fight off the backfoot. He was getting tagged repeatedly when he retreated. That was Usyk's gameplan.
The main problem for Fury (which no one seems to be picking up on) was the high pace that Usyk fights at. Fury looked tired by the half way point, plus, Usyk counters so well that Fury would've been wary coming forward too much.
its a little bit harder to lean on him coz of his quick feat he knows how to get out of the way. its like loma but those lower weights their quick in their feet also unlike in the heavy weights.
Usyk should have got the knock down the first time Fury was saved by the ropes, not four rope saves later after 30 seconds have gone by. Then ref steps in just before the KO.
Fury has always been chinney. Its just that hes huge and awkward so not easy to hit cleanly. Hes been put down so many times and before Wilder but always gets up. He was not hit that much by wilder. Every time wilder landed clean Fury hit the deck but he didn;t hit him that much. The first fight was not war. Fury outboxed him and got caught a couple times. The 2nd fight Fury did not take any punishment, he battered Wilder. Fury had a war in the 3rd fight so its one war in his entire career. People need to stop talking like Fury was the greatest ever and now has declined a lot. The man fought 4 people in world title fights. He beat Klitschko and Klitschko barely threw punches, he beat wilder who had zero skill. This was the best fighter he'd fought and he got beaten. The other two are chisora who loses to everyone with a pulse and Whyte. People throw him in with the best HW's ever and the man has no business in them conversations. 'Hes just too big for them old HW'S' but Ali was the same size as Usyk. Furys resume is poor.
U sound really dumb u seriously telling me wilder only landed a few good punches in 3 fights? Man I'm done with boxing fans you guys are actually crazy@@wunwun8875
I had it 115-114 Fury or 114-114. I thought Fury was up 5 to 3 after 8 rounds. Then in the 9th 2pts for Usyk. I gave Tyson the 11th round. And the 10th round was close. It could of went eitherway. Or even. And Usyk won the 12th. Any ref is suppose to call the knockdown if the ropes save you. And Tyson floated over from one side and into the ropes. Which is called a knockdown if the ropes save you from falling. It was a good call. The right call.
FURY needed to just hold his position and move fwd. Too much lateral movement simply allowed UYSK to see holes appear without UYSK doing the moving to find the holes.
I bet it was John Furys idea to try to outbox Usyk. No Kronk style tactics were used in that fight. I bet John Fury tries to tell Sugarhill what to do and if so it costed his son a victory.
Go to him! Yeah and get peppered with shots. These big guys are not walking down a faster, more athletic guy, moving laterally with a very high punch output.
He so right they both tried to box him but maybe the little guy had power so they cant walk him down. But tyson came in too light really look for the rematch
All these stupid RU-vidrs talking about round 9, Usyk upped the game in round 7, he started beating Fury seriously in round 8, topped it up in round 9, rest is history. Fury only did well in 4-6.
Fury had no choice but to move backward. Usyk employed pressure tactics to deliberately cut the ring and fight offensively and defensively to take it to the later rounds where these big guys get gassed. Mayweather is missing the point here.
Fury got hurt in the nose in the eighth round. From there it was down hill until the intervention of the referee in the ninth. Usyk was the definitive winner in the ninth. For me, there was no need to continue after that. Jeff, for the future, I recommend papaya mixed with Greek yogurt before going to bed. It works like a charm for acid reflux. Best!
Huh? Fury had a big reach and height advantage so he wanted to maintain distance. If he comes forward, he gives up that distance. As the taller and heavier guy, he could fight either way so I don’t think he made a mistake. This is the way that Tyson Fury always used to fight before he met Wilder and only in the second and third fights, did he come forward.
Fury likes to counter and set up his shots with clever feints - Usyk is hard to hit without leaving yourself open and the workrate he set was tiring Fury.If there is a remtach Tyson needs to be more busy (easier said than done i know) but i cant see him beating Usyk without throwing more shots and cutting out the showboating. The jab and hold strategy is unlikely to work as next time he has to take the title from Usyk and to do that he will have to be more assertive.
Idk why tyson even showed up. He just ran around fake jabbed, barely ever threw the right hand. That was annoying reminds me of when Anderson silva used to play around and show boat. Pathetic performance waste of everyone's time.
He is really high😂 “A lot of people think that Fury won”😂 I heard only 3 “people”: Warren, his WBC “judge” and Arum… + the Fury family… right, his big family 😂
Fury went backwards a little too much, but him backing himself into a corner was smart it meant Usyk had to come to him instead of trying to chase him and wasting energy it took away Usyk biggest skill in his footwork and ability to cut a angles as much.
No. It was a mistake. Every time Fury backed-up, Usyk hit him. Fury doesn't fight well off the back foot and especially in the corner. The only thing Usyk can do better is to avoid the uppercuts. Footwork was amazing. The pace he put on Fury is what won him the fight. Broke Fury's nose.
Sugar kept telling Tyson to be more compact and move in. when he did he had U in trouble, but U does come back. Tyson's dad was screaming in his ear in the corner which was a distraction. Tyson moved around too much the first 3. he won 4 2 the first 6. U came back and had a huge round the 9th. Fury came back. Usyk won.
I said the same thing. Usyk hates faints and fighting backwards. His 2 flaws. Tyson only used 1 out of 2. If fury went forward making Usyk fight going backwards Tyson wins all day. He missed that. He should've known Usyk don't fight good going backwards but nope.
not true at all, Usyk fights well on back foot, Fury didnt press him because he knew he couldnt just walk into shots, he had to make himself small and draw Usyk in, kept his hands low and showboated to hide the angles of attack

@JeffPenaify every time someone lands something good on Usyk its when he's being pushed backwards and same with faints. He bites on too many faints. Still a dam master but the key to beating him is using those 2 things
This dude hates to give credit doesnt he? Fury was 5-2 up after the 7th but Usyk simply changed the fight in the 8th with a shot to the nose. Usyk is just a great.
usyk had a big speed advantage being a 220 pound fighter they really think fury could have chased him around like that for 12 rounds? It's not easy to fight at a smaller guys pace, Fury could have won it if he took it easy on the pies and focused on his fitness he looked blubbery as hell 😂
But Fury WAS outboxing him, unrtil he got chinned. He fought the perfect fight until his focus dropped and he got hit flush. Then he never really recovered.
USYK 💪🇺🇦 ❤️ WE NEED MORE EXCUSES for FURY ! Happy new year .) ... Fury is the most overrated heavyweight in the history of boxing, not my opinion, but the statistics after his fight with and victory over Klitschko in 2015. Joshua is the best boxer in Great Britain, he also beat Klitschko Maybe that's why Fury didn't want to meet him 🤔 We need to pay less attention to words and wordplay, and start paying attention to facts and actions ! Usyk - is a business. Fury - is words. If someone is compared to Ali, it is undoubtedly Usyk, they even have a birthday on the same day, January 17. Fury can be compared to Oleksandr Valuev, only unlike him, Fury has technical skills and some grace in movements. P.S. History of American boxing: "From Muhammad Ali to Logan Paul" 😏
