NEW VIDEO Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury visits his first gym! Jimmy Egans Boxing Academy in Wythenshawe Manchester is where Fury first walked in as a teenager and met Jimmy Egan and his two sons Steve and Shaun. Amateur coach Steve was in his corner last weekend as part of his professional setup when he successfully defended his heavyweight crown at Wembley. Tyson called in to his first gym to do some boxing training.

I'd say Fury's defeat of Whyte 9 days ago was miles ahead of what Povetkin did 19 months ago or what happened when AJ beat Whyte 77 months ago. Whyte cause Povetkin and AJ problems back then, but did not cause any such problems to Fury. Povetkin's KO of Whyte was up there with Fury's too.

When I was a kid, the main lad at our club was Tony Brown, who boxed in the Senior ABAs and lost to another local lad, Tony Willis [who won a bronze medal at the Moscow Olympics]. It was always a buzz when he came in to train - us kids all upped our game. I can only imagine what it must have been like for these kids having the reigning Heavyweight Champion of the World just rock up. Fury is an absolute one-off.
