Sehr schönes Lied!...mein Großvater war Maschinengefreiter auf U 517 ( unter Kapitänleutnant Paul Hartwig) 2 Feindfahrten mitgemacht (nordamerikanische Küste) dann nach der Versenkung im November 1942 Kriegsgefangener in Kanada, Camp Lethbridge und Medicine Hat,später noch als Holzfäller in Longlac/Ontario! Er war einer der wenigen Ubootkameraden die ihre Heimat wiedergesehen haben! "IN GEDENKEN AN ALLE AUF SEE GEBLIEBENEN "
That's what people forget is, these men had family's loved ones, brothers, sisters, kids. But most media villainize them. Obviously, some were bad but not all. They had feelings they cried they smiled there humans too. War isn't good for anyone there's always bad on both sides. And the worst part most of them were kids barely even out of college. RIP

U need to listen to the song "Primavera" by the Spanish Blue Division who fought for Germany. Its one of my fav songs ever, and I'm a metal head. But it talks about their struggles on the Eastern Front. It's just beautiful. If only Germany won, we could have these in the street on a daily basis.

Die deutsche Kriegsmarine war ein außergewöhnliches Phänomen. Mit Hinblick auf die überragende technische Qualität und erstaunliche Disziplin der Mannschaft der Kriegsmarine kann man die Deuschen wohl als eines der größten zu See fahrenden Völker der Weltgeschichte bezeichnen. Auf der anderen Seite respektiere ich die Engländer.
My Dad, RIP, fought against these men as part of a American 🇺🇸Naval convoy in the North Atlantic on a destroyer; he was a Signalman First Class. He LOVED the Navy, despite all this, and lived to tell the tale..

That U-boats had to remain radio silence to avoid their location being revealed? Think what you like Wehraboo it doesn't change the fact that your shiny "Wonder weapons" are impractical and unreliable.
