I compare U-God to the bass of Wu-Tang. Not only is his voice one of the deepest in the Clan, but like the bassists in most groups it just gets overlooked because it doesnt have that pop/flair the others do. Hes not my fav (GZA and Deck tie that spot) but by no means is he a weak MC.

Being underrated doesn't take away the greatness in you.Only afew people have the gift to see and appreciate greatness in somebody.Personally ,I think U-god was far much better than RZA(I love the multi-talented RZA ofcourse).You deserve your own respect for mentioning U-god.Otherwise some of us miss the real hip-hop.

I think you’re all just romanticizing his failures. You just cannot compare his talents to the rest of the clan members, who’s presence alone was electrifying. Have you ever even been to a Wu-Tang show back in the days? Or even now? You know when the crowd goes crazy? When METHOD MAD jumped on stage. It would turn into almost like a heavy metal concert. U-God NEVER had that effect on n stage or on wax and of course, movies. Yes, he did have fire versus - fine, ok. Everyone else had fire CAREERS. The Purple Tape? IronMan? Tical? Liquid Swords? Come ON… wtf are you guys even TALKING about here? Stop it. He is NOT underrated. He’s rated right where he belongs .
U-god has a style that is just completely unique. Its true he never got the success he deserved, but slowly overtime people have started to recognize his greatness. I think as the years go on he will get more and more respect...

I have to be honest I've always felt like he deserved so much more love and respect than he has and me myself has always loved and respected him for his talents but I haven't read the book yet but I will get it on Amazon soon. I always wanted him inspectah deck and Master killah to come out with a Wu massacre together. Maybe they can make that happen one day
I usually overlooked Ugod. Them lyrics are crazy tho. And he was always cool during the Myspace days. He would answer you back and shared alot of good stuff.
After reading his book ; u god never really took rap seriously until he saw reaction wu tang was getting from people ; it was always a hobby to him , he was a drug dealer

I feel Masta killa and Cappadonna is up there also people forget bout them way too often also. I love cappas music, i like U-Gods but hes personality pushes me off somehow.
U-God is a real street legend. That's what I like about him and when you go beneath the surface he is very talented. His solo work is really good. I would encourage people to look into his body of work.
Doggy, I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again… U-God was only on a few tracks on the first album…… BUT he KILLED IT on every track he was on, on Wu-Tang Forever. He was the most improved in that 5-6 year span. Fact.

The name change on the saga continues being released under Wu tang instead of Wu Tang clan sounds like a business decision by possibly rza. If they would've released it under Wu tang clan they would owe u-god 1/9th of the profits generated from the group release because in his contract with wu productions U-God is signed to Wu Tang Clan not Wu tang. So by releasing the album under Wu tang he has no legal right to any profit especially because he doesn't appear on the album.

Rza fuqed up the rollout, i heard he lost UGods album in the flood along with Rebel INS. U God released the worst solo album of the clan members, Mr. Xcitement. That may also play a role why he is less liked than the other clan members. His other albums are solid to good, my favourite is Dopium, but they were all released independently, rather late and probably not to commercial success. He has many, many great parts on many Wu Tang projects though. His verses on It's Yourz, Black Jesus, Winter Warz (although Cappa steals the show), Killa Beez and his verses on 12 reasons to die are just a few of my favourites and proof that he greatly contributed to the Clan's status in Hip Hop.

For me, U-God and Masta Killa are my favorite when it comes to Wu-Tang Clan group albums and features. Just not my favorites for solo albums. U-God always attacks the track like a barbarian and Masta Killa always moves swiftly like a ninja.
U-God is beyond weak. Havent watched this entire video just but yes, he is buttcheeks an emcee. I have personally helped him write and recod before & it was difficult to say the least. Not only is he the weak link [thought Masta Killa is a close second] in the Wu but he is just an extremely subpar rapper.
I feel U-God is the example of what I call a "Homie Hire". U-God is that cat you hire at your business because ya'll grew up together as kids and he was loyal or ya'll was really tight, so you bring him along so he can eat with you. U-God is certainly not as talented as his clan brothers (no slouch either) in my opinion. U-God is to Wu-Tang, what Silkk The Shocker is to No Limit, from a relational standpoint relative to their respective crews, NOT a talent equivalent.
I'm a Golden Arms fan. Time's running out but U-God's style and bangers transcend gossips and blahblah. Read his RAW book you will understand the mistery of chessboxing.
Baby U aka Golden Arms is not in no way shape or form the weakest link 🔗 so we can stop and begin right there. U brought that deep voice, crazy vocabulary, sometimes kept it short but straight 2da point. One of those MC's you had to rewind his verse cause you'd b like wtf he just say? Then re-listen & go OH SHIT that was I'll! 2 me U stood for unique but then again each Clan member was unique in their own special way. Which makes greatness.... Baby U brought that energy not ODB type energy, but like a shot of adrenaline or chugging a Redbull/ Monster Energy drink. All souped up off the ginseng root caffeinated flow that would get u up and ready to throw bow's type shit. Basically u can't have a complete WU-TANG without all the ingredients and U-God is one of those spices that seasons up that pot of G.O.A.T... ✌️🤟🙏🙌🐝 from 93-23 & still reppin solo careers. I think another Wu-Tang Clan album would settle all the differences and drama inda past. Just bring it back to the purest form that original raw uncut grown folks music for the FAN'S who been supporting from day #1...namean?🤜❤️🔥🤛
The title of this clip assures me that I was never crazy 💯😂 Wu, in my opinion, consisted of Dirty (my fav!), Meth, Rae, Ghost, Deck, and RZA: PERIOD 🎯🤷♂️ Anything beyond this was unnecessary..
Ugod was the biggest drug dealer in the whole group including power. Everybody in the group will tell you that without uGod there would be no Wu-Tang he actually paid for the first album to be made and that's how he got in The group
I was confused when I seen this, I’d honestly say the most underrated are masta killa, Inspectah deck, and capadonna however that doesn’t mean any of them are trash or better it just means they don’t get as much attention as others do for some reason I think they’re all hardcore if your Wu then you represent straight up ‼️ 🔥
U god is probably one of my favourites hes not as charismatic as some of the other members but the dude is dope ..i think everyone of the clan members are just as important they all bring something different to the table
