Hey Jordan, Jeff Sutphen AKA Pick Boy here. Really nice job with this. I very much enjoyed the trip down memory lane. You really captured the tone of what we were doing on UPL every day. And to all the fans here in the comments sharing their Pick Boy memories means a lot. TRUE FANS UP FRONT!!! it was always for you. And to be clear we didn't fix the voting. For like the past ten years I've been trying to remember why the name "garbagio" was something that was already in my memory. I could have looked it up, but the only times I thought about it were near the trashcan for obvious reasons, away from any internet device and by the time I'd return I would have forgotten. I completely forgot UPL was ever a thing, but I definitely recognized Pick Boy, name included, and as I explained Garbagio was something baked into my brain as well.

I'm not sure if you talked about this or not, while it wasnt a full on Programming Block, I really have good memories of the Cartoonnetwork Invaded series. Where aliens invaded shows like Fosters, Ed Edd and Eddy, Camp Lazlo, Gym Partner and Billy and Many. There was like a cool theme for the episode and it was always cool to see which show would get 'invaded' next. With in the end all of them actually being connected in some way. I even remember checking the CN website every day to see if the little teaser image was revealed for the weeks episode. It was really cool and just brings back good memories.

Loved the vid, brought back a ton of memories! I actually was picked by pickboy for one of the special episodes they did when they came down to the Nickelodeon Studio in Orlando. Every kid there was going "pick me, pick me" and I just bowed to him lmao. Remember it so clearly "YOU!" "ME?!?!" YEAH YOU, COME UP HERE!". I picked door number 3 and got a gamecube followed by everyone dancing. Incredible experience

So as far as recomendations for other programming blocks, you mentioned Miguzi in this video and that one was always a personal favorite of mine! Id love to see you do a video on it! I also think it would make for a good video to just talk about Cartoon City in general. Like it wasn't really a programming block per say, but rather the general bumpers they used when they werent showing a program block at that time, but honestly I really just loved everything about Cartoon City. It was so good! Seeing all the characters interact with each other between every show was great! Its genuinly sad to me that, as far as I can tell, no other network has ever put as much effort into the bumpers for their network as cartoon network did in the early-mid 2000's. Like I loved nickelodeon allot, and I watched quite a bit of U pick live while it aired, but some of my best memories are coming home from school and turning on cartoon network and seeing all these cartoons I loved, then in between them seeing all those cartoons I loved talking to each other and just living a regular life in the city, making it feel like all the shows took place in the same area and we where just watching different parts of the city regardless of what show you where watching!

Cartoon Cartoon Fridays was EVERYTHING to me as a kid. Also, I think that it would be cool if you highlighted special Holiday themed programming blocks that kid networks used to do. I remember one year when the Disney Channel held a contest for kids to vote for their favorite Halloween episodes of shows like Even Stevens and Lizzie McGuire, and I specifically remember voting for some of those episodes. Host segments like this are great touches that made the networks just as appealing as the shows on them. Same goes for the between commercial bumpers, like all of the classics that Cartoon Network used to have in the 90s and 2000s. So much great nostalgia!

Thank you for this awesome video, Jordan! Apparently I am a bazillion years older than you, because this show was what my long-ago roommate and I would watch as we pre-gamed before heading out to our favorite bars, lol. We'd DVR it (don't worry, it wasn't a Tivo!) to watch after we got home too. We loved Fairly Odd Parents and SpongeBob, and we thought Pick Boy was super cute, so we watched a TON of Nickelodeon - probably way too much for people so far outside the target demographic age group! But it was so much fun. And you did just a magnificent job covering this block of pure entertainment! Thanks again for bringing back memories of a great show that aired at a great time in my life. I always really liked him ❤️ Yessss cover Survivor!! My actual favorite show! (btw it’s Probst with a long o sound) But love the idea of other programming blocks. Toonami and Miguzi are great picks. So is Cartoon Cartoon Fridays. Snick too! Playhouse Disney is another classic. Also there was one in the late 90s/early 2000s maybe and I want to say it was PBS or one of its affiliates where there was a guy who also played his mother which was just him in a wig. And for the life of me I cannot remember more. The only other thing that sticks out in my mind is the color test screen. Maybe he wore like a blue coat sometimes. Love this! Glad you're doing more. Blocks like Toonami & TRL are what I miss most about the cable era & I'm glad they're getting the recognition they deserve.

One Saturday Morning is the one programming block whose theme song still gets stuck in my head; I loved watching it so much when I was younger. I’m looking forward to seeing more of these look backs. :D

I vaguely remember seeing Jerry Trainor in that costume. But I vividly remember to comment about Big Fat Liar review requests on all your videos.

I remember when they called viewers. This boy won something (Think it was a bike or scooter). All of a sudden, you hear his father yell at him to get off the phone. The kid starts cursing at him and he hear the father cursing back. It was hilarious!

Pick Boy was hilarious growing up. One of the best parts of watching TV was the fun bumpers in between the commercial breaks. Do more of these!!

All these years later and “oh, Pick Boy!” is still etched into my brain

Slime Time live, Spongebob's summer beach house, and Splat! were other Nickelodeon programming blocks around that time period.

Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon were both channels from my childhood.

I remember once after the segment was over they went to one of the cartoons after the pick but they forgot to cut off the audio feed. So for a few moments you can hear the two host talk to each other completely unaware the viewers can hear them while the program was airing. Also 2:27 was literally me

Absolutely loved U-Pick live, but Cartoon Cartoon Fridays took my attention as soon as U-Pick live was over. Would love to see you do a video on CCF!

Something about the Nickelodeon programming like this hooked me when I was a kid. I remember Stick Stickley, I remember Slime Time Live, and especially this.

i somehow missed out on this programming block era, but some programming blocks i distinctly remember include the adult swim bumpers & whatever the hell disney was doing (that miniseries hosted by brenda song, the fake reality segments, as the bell rings, ze frank, etc.)

STICK STICKLY! NICK IN THE AFTERNOON! DECADES ago I DID send a letter asking Stick to play the Rugrats Passover special, and I just so happened to be out of the room when the segment was on with him reading the letter BEFORE THEY TOTALLY PLAYED IT!! To this DAY I have no idea if my letter was on the show asking for it! I'm still HOPING somebody has that airing on tape so I can see it and find out!

Maaannn the absolute CRUSH I had on Candace Bailey even when she went over to G4.back then was insane 😩 I really miss segments like this on tv. I was literally trying to explain what tv programming blocks were by explaining U-Pick Live to my younger sister like last year. Still cool seeing Pick Boy in the comments too
