What a day in my life is like being stationed at the United States Air Force Academy as an enlisted member. My job is Airfield Management and for the most part its a pretty chilled job depending what base you get stationed at. This base in particular is a hidden gem in our career field one of the easiest bases you can get stationed at.

My dad advised me to join the Air Force back in the day, but I had to rebel and join the Army. Jeezus I would’ve retired in the Air Force. So awesome!!

@Bruce.lee94
@Bruce.lee94 2 года назад
It really depends on what base you are stationed at. Every spot i been to we only work 8 hour shifts but if you get stationed at a base that flies 24/7 than most likely your shifts will be 12 hours but you will work like 3 days on 2 days off type of schedule. Also deployments are 12 hour shifts at least all the ones ive been on.

Thinking about cross training into airfield management, how is tech school and the work life balance ?
@Bruce.lee94
@Bruce.lee94 7 месяцев назад
Tech school is pretty quick about a month and you’re done. Work life balance depends on the base if you can get one where the airfield is not 24/7 its easier for a family. Work you have a lot of downtime so doing school on shift is what a lot of people do. Once you get higher in rank (E-6) and get put on admin hours its a lot easier for family life but work life gets dull i enjoyed my time on the counter more than being in the back office

ATC is also a very good choice! As far as choosing your base you do get a “dream sheet” you can pick 7 bases you would like to go to and if the Air For has openings at those bases for your rank theres a chance to get stationed there. Its not always guaranteed but you can always re apply afterwards
