I never thought of that! If you were a true "Badge Hunter" you could qualify Expert, Sharp Shooter, and Marksman with three different weapons! Not that I'm a badge Hunter, but I have a driver badge!

I had expert on Rifle, Machine gun, Grenade and pistol. You could only wear 2 bars at a time. I wore all 4. Nice video.

I wore 3 expert Rifle Auto rifle Machine gun According to AR 670-1 your authorized 3 retired US Army 87-09 check AR regs in case they may have changed.

Another great video! Seriously, the research and production quality you all put into these videos is outstanding. They are undeserving of the relatively little amount of attention that they get. It shows that you are truly dedicated. I have a question if you'd like to answer, my grandfather served with the Marines in the Korean War and received severe lung damage from agent orange or some other chemical. I don't know much about his service, but is he authorized the Purple Heart? Or would we be able to request for it to be awarded somehow? He has since passed away from lung related issues and my dad doesn't know much about his service either, what should we do?

Unfortunately I do not think he would be authorized the Purple Heart for agent orange

I have the German Marksmanship Badge “the Shutzrnshnur”. It comes in Gold, Silver and Bronze. I earned mine in Germany in 1999. You shoot the German Army Service Pistol, Rifle and Machine Gun. It’s on my DD214 and I have a letter saying I’m authorized to wear the award. It’s a pretty cool silver rope with a big German shield at the top and it is worn on the right side. Does anyone know if this is still authorized to wear?

Yes as long as you have orders. I have the gold got it back in 1990. It will be a foreign award worn on your right side I qualified gold. Btw you are only authorized to wear 1 foreign award at a time I also have the French commando award 89 while in the US Army Berlin Brigade

I don’t believe the Expert In Competition (EIC) badge is obsolete. I am in the National guard and at the yearly tag match for our state some soldiers earn their bronze EIC I also am in funeral honors and work with a guy who wears his bronze EIC.

Agreed, the versions shown in this video are obsolete. But the modern style EIC badges are still valid and current. I earned both bronze and silver for pistol before going Distinguished. Keep shooting!

Can someone explain to me why. US army generals seem to swap between the green class A uniform with the stars running up their shoulder to the blue army dress uniform with the stars running a cross their shoulder? I know the army have swapped between blue dress uniforms and the pink and greens from ww2 but the uniforms the generals wear seem different.

The Blue uniform follows the French design. The Green follows the British design..thus how the rank is displayed on the uniform.

1:30 the pictured badge has M1 Garands, not M1903s. You can see the gas system. Marine just seeing the other steps on the ladder for the first time, it's hilarious. The ORIGINAL, pre-WW2 obsolete Rifle Expert badge is essentially or literally the current USMC Expert badge. I'm struggling to imagine somebody with a rifle badge with steps on it like a ladder that reads AUTORIFLE FLAMETHROWER BAYONET AEROWEAPONS in dress blues. that would be hilarious in real life, I wish USMC had steps on the ladder for other quals.
