They say their cutting jobs but in reality no one is signing up to join so they have to make it look like they are cutting jobs….. when has it became a bad thing to have a extra 32,000 soldiers……
I would disagree Just as jobs in the private sector are steadily disappearing due to increases in automation and technology, its a fair guess that its happening with the Army as well
No, silly, and as someone who was in the military for two enlistments, and has worked in the private security industry, I'll tell you this - they're cutting SOF jobs because they cannot retain SOF. When you train an SOF soldier, you spend hundreds of thousands of dollars per soldier - but for how long? Four years. Four years, with nosign-up, because they get poached by private security firms - because they pay you a *lot* of money for essentially a job that is like what you had in the army as an infantryman, but way more chiller. And you make about 8x the pay. Usually even more.
Meanwhile, many of us with packets on the line, want to join but haven’t gotten the call or the commission yet. 🤷🏻♂️. Perhaps they are struggling with enlisted. But not commissioned.
Well, it's not just military jobs. But civilian jobs as well. Nobody is motivated anymore. Healthcare is on a steady decline. Everyone is quitting. Especially the state I live in. Paramedics are at an all-time low
Translation: "we are making understaffed, low-ranked personnel do 2 or more jobs for the pay and 'benefits' of one, because no one wants those underpaid, unwanted positions."
no job cuts, they are eliminating empty positions they can't fill to restructure their ranks. Still is definitely a problem though, no one wants to join the army anymore because of living conditions / how you are treated.
Well, drones are cheaper than humans. They are cheap, and can be deployed and attack anytime, anywhere in huge numbers day and night and they don't complain and you don't have to pay them salaries, healthcare and benefits.
Well it’s all bullshit..the Army let me and many other good experienced guys go to keep and promote all toxic ones. All is good tho I’m much happier and I’m glad I’m no longer part of the clown show. #DD214 #freeman #notmyarmy #veteran
@@UncleJay310You're fn right, men of color are held from leadership positions and medals. It is in fact a racist system, I was at the top of my class but the wrong color.
@jamalwilburn228 LSCO? They have very fat conventional units they could trim the fat on. If you know the 5 principles of special forces. One is they can't be produced iin a rushed fashion in the time of an emergency. The boys at the pentagon issuing these orders should've thought thoroughly about that
@@1anreLarge Scale Combat Operations. These future ground wars are going to be fought mainly by regular infantry, that is literally their purpose. SOF is made for very specific, small scale operations, LSCO operations inherently require a massive base of bodies to backfill casualties, SOF cannot supply that so they take the backseat. Their role will be reserved, again, for very specific small scale mission sets in support of large infantry operations. Hardened target raids, airfield seizures, recon/uas, subterranean warfare, personnel recovery etc.
Also, we can't retain SF-type personnel for longer than their enlistment contracts unless they aren't single, usually. Single high-speed SF-type personnel realize that they can make 8 times the damn pay getting poached by a private security firm, doing a job that's basically what some highspeed 11-series or 11-series adjacent soldier does, but more relaxed when it can be, and I mean they're offering well over six figures to do that. A lot of guys doing USAREC duty in the SF offices on post will tell you that, or at least, that's what was told to me when I was still a soldier.
@1anre Look at a history book and check the casualty rates. We need lots of bodies for conventional warfare, which will be fought by regular infantry. It wasn't FSSF or OSS who took the cities, beaches, and towns that won WW2. The cost to train, compensate, and equip them is a waste when standard infantry work will be enough.
It's FT. Bragg in Fayetteville NC, I was stationed there in the 90's 82d ABN DIV. B-CO 2 BN 504 PIR, now I'm retired disabeld veteran 20 years active service.
Well lets pray that some of these men consider joining the NC police given we need them to keep us from falling into lawlessness like much of the rest of the country.
I doubt you ever leave your home enough to truly know how "lawless" things are. Things have progressively become less and less lawless over time. Just because your kid sent time warner to set up the internet tubes and now you're able to see social media and what others do in their spare time does not mean the world is ending, old man. Take a chill-pill.
They aren’t the only ones. My company which has 62 factories around the world is also cutting jobs. Blue collar and office staff. No one is safe. I don’t feel that my job is safe either. I would apply to another refinery like chevron but I heard on the news like a month ago that chevron wants to leave CA. They are making everything so expensive. Pg&e rates are going up and factories pay a lot of money for electricity and they aren’t happy with these higher costs and to recuperate that money they are letting go of workers. I don’t even know what job is safe anymore in this economy especially in CA
WE ARE TOP HEAVY WITH BRASS; THERE ARE CURRENTLY 44-4 STAR GENERALS FOR A STANDING ARMY OF LESS THAN 1 MILLION SERVICE PERSONNEL. TO PUT THIS IN PERSPECTIVE; IN WW2, THERE WERE JUST 7 4-STAR GENERALS FOR A 12 MILLION MAN ARMY.
Except there are people taking the job. Do you think that USAREC only has offices that take civilians on? Almost no person goes from civilian to SF personnel, you dingus. They take SF personnel from existing people in existing roles that have proven that they can soldier and do so technically to their skill for their necessary MOS. You didn't serve, so you don't know anything.

Recruitment issues? The reason they’re having recruiting issues is because their standards are so high. Getting in the U.S. military is very hard for the average person, even getting in the army is hard and that’s the easiest branch to get into. I tried getting in and was denied for something stupid.
You’re joking right? It’s definitely much easier, especially when I joined in 2014. If I’m not mistaken the army has an enlistment problem. Young adults aren’t interested in joining anymore. The last patriots died with my generation 90s babies
This has absolutely fucking nothing to do with "DEI training", you psychotic buzzword-spouting oxygen-thief. It has everything to do with not being able to retain single, unmarried SF personnel because private security firms pay them way better, not to mention the the amount of bloat that SF units have due to the GWOT.
Like I said if they start paying 80,000 a year cool also that dam test all mathematics and mechanics is damn hard people can’t even pass with the lowest score of 50 but they should do is have people take the test and whatever they’re good and really bad training with their better and then when they get into the recruitment help them with the weak area
They will not cut combat arms jobs, in the 90's the Army did the same down sizing offering anyone a lump sum of money to get out, as a Staff Sergeant at the time I turned it down, its only 2 years retiremnt money in advance.
I remember when I was 17 I wanted to join the army so I did on my 18th birthday and went to Ft Benning in June 2004. By far it was the hottest summer in my life basic training was kinda fun for me I’ve always enjoyed working out so I seen all the “smoke” sessions as a big work out for myself. But 2 deployments later and 6 years after all I have to show for it is bad hearing and I now have a career as a mechanical engineer. These kids don’t want to join even if college is paid for and all the benefits they don’t want to be in any wars and I can’t blame them but for it being peacetime as of right now if you want college and you can make the grade you can do it. Or, just don’t pick an MOS that’s combat related.
@mr_sir6563 uh oh someone's upset their precious military got called out and instead of debating they resort to schoolyard insults, keep saying whatever motto it is they got you to join pal 😉
