This song was written composed by Glade Fonning ( Frontman, vocalist, guitarist ) of US band ( Later "Armageddon" ) along with band members Shibu Dewan ( Guitars ), Sachin Dewan ( Drums- former Nayan Band from HK ), Jayant Tamang and Mekendra Rawat Singh ( Both Bass Players before Hem Subba took over ) for guys like me in the mid-"80's. We were going through trying times in this period and Glade along with Dr. Indira Pradhan ( Maraj ) assisted by Ms. Noreen Dunne did their best for us. Awesome
Yes, we use to have Gay Fonning, Vocal and Lead Guitarist, Mekhendra, Bass, Sapna Lama, Female Vocalist, Sachin on the Drums....Shibu onGuitars... a Band of the 80s.....
Guys i am from Kathmandu Nepal. I was 13 years old when i went to 1st concert of my life. I was playing football on the road and one of our senior dai asked "bhai concert herna janey ho?' It was US Band performing in Bhrikuti Mandap. I saw new world there. Rock music and Punk musicians and people. I was totally amazed and started playing guitar right after that. I have deep respect for all those musicians from Darjeeling. This video brought me back to those days. Thank you.
the thing is we don't get any scope we can't even choose music to make our bright future.i quit playing guitar.before we had band.situation leads me other way but still their is music in my soul.anyway thanks to showing respect to darjeelingers
i do agree with you. it's same here in Nepal. Well i still play and play for myself. i am in different field but music is in my heart. I suggest don't give up just play for yourself.
Thankx Abhiraj for this post, US Band (ARMAGEDDON) use to be really popular @ 80' or 90'. I remember their musical consort at Bhanu Hall with some other band like Rusty Nails Band Darjeeling, Brain Damage Darjeeling one more was there if I am not wrong name of that band is is Mountain Wind.
By the way Abhaya of "Abhaya and the Steam Injuns" got her first break on stage because of Glade Fonning when he asked her to perform on stage with them. Glade's question was "Bahini geet gaune ?" Her reply "Gaune daju"
Most guys did not make it beyond their 30's including some of the band members. I'm one of those lucky ones. However, not everything was bad during that period, we had some great times too - not to forget Forbidden Fruit and Magnum Opus with the likes of Deep Arora, Palden ( Opus), "Kaane" Pasang, Wangchuk. As for me, I fell in love and got married !!
Guys............. . Does anyone possess US Band's one only album ARPAN. I was searching for it and hit upon this article. The album is wholly a nepali album. If anyone has it please try to get it uploaded; I too m searchin for it. I want to upload the album as it isnt in the web. Peace \'"/
