With a legacy of battles won, the Marines have consistently been ready when our Nation was least ready, demonstrating a tradition of fighting and winning, always with a willingness to engage and determination to defeat any enemy. Their victories and achievements, in both war and peace, on and off the battlefield, have created significant moments in history for our Nation.
Anthem illustrates the historic battles Marines have fought and won, including:
• Belleau Wood - After 20 days of intense fighting during the German Spring Offensive of WWI near the Marne River in France, Marines secured victory and-according to legend-earned the nickname “Teufel Hunden” or “devil dogs.”
• Montford Point - The Montford Point Marines achieved victory at home when in 1942 President Roosevelt established a directive to allow African American men to fight for the Marine Corps; on the field they helped to win battles and changed the face of the Marine Corps.
• Iwo Jima - Amidst some of the fiercest and bloodiest fighting of the War in the Pacific of WWII, Marines captured the Japanese island of Iwo Jima during a five-week battle.
• Recruit Training - In successfully completing recruit training, Marines win the ultimate battles over self-doubt.
• Superstorm Sandy - After Superstorm Sandy slammed into the eastern coast of the U.S. in 2012, Marines fought for the communities of New York and New Jersey, bringing aid, organization, and much-needed manpower.Subscribe to see the latest from Marine Corps Recruiting on RU-vid: us-marines.co/...

About the United States Marine Corps:
The Marine Corps defends the people of the United States at home and abroad. Within every Marine is the willingness to engage and determination to defeat any adversary, and it is this fighting spirit that allows us to fight and win our Nation’s battles.
The mission of the United States Marine Corps is made up of three promises: We make Marines, we win our Nation’s battles, and we develop quality citizens prepared to fight and win battles.
You don’t join the Marines-you become one, forged in the crucible of training aboard our recruit depots on Parris Island, South Carolina, and in San Diego, California, or through the dedication required of officer candidates at Officer Candidates School in Quantico, Virginia. Beyond the physical requirements, aspiring Marines must prove they have the honor, courage, and commitment to face and defeat any obstacle.
Today, more than 180,000 enlisted Marines and 23,000 Marine Officers serve in active duty or reserve forces on bases and in communities around the world, proudly carrying with them the core values of the Marine Corps.

I was in the Marine infantry, but i am in the national guard as an assistant recruiter now. It is hard when people say they want to join the Marines, to convince them otherwise. I always tell them, “If you want the military experience join the Marines, if you want a career join the National Guard”. Because honestly, becoming a Marine is exactly what you have heard. Its like nothing you have ever experienced and no other branch can guarantee you.
@williamrodrigues8333
@williamrodrigues8333 2 года назад
I'm trying to get into the reserves of any branch. I was US Army Infantry for 1 year but was honorably discharged with RE code 3 for Mental health. The marine recruiter said that if I dropped weight to 208 then they'd begin the process of having me as a "direct enlisted" and send me to MEPS to get a mental health waiver Is this accurate and how hard is it to get that waiver?
@cody7790
@cody7790 2 года назад
@@williamrodrigues8333 I have no idea. It depends on a lot of factors. Some Meps are more lenient than others, some employees are more lenient than others. It’s tough to really know until you go. I mean face value, if you got out after only a year for mental health, you are kind of damaged goods. So I’m assuming it won’t be easy per say.

Just come to the States and join the best fighting military cult of the world, never mind anything else they are the few for a reason with only 200,000 of them serving around the world. The Marine Corp boot camp is the three months long including advanced training it could add up to a year's worth of training or two years depending on what occupation position you apply. Then you can become a citizen of the U.S depending if you are already or not. when you come to the states they P.T usually every Thursday or more throughout the week but before you come do as much research about the U.S Marine Corp about what's it's like even the promises they make which means no guarantee of a position it's up to you on how bad you want it. They will do their best for you to never quit or fail you only have one option that's up to you only you if you complete training you'll become a part of The U.S Marine Corp. "Good Luck!" :)

I remember when I was 6 or so, and we went to a 4th of July parade and I enjoyed watching the fire trucks and the police cars and the different bands and organizations that would march through the parade.. but what always got my attention and got my heart pumping faster was the distinct "rata-tat-tat" of the snare drums as the men and women of the military marched down the street.. I'd watch them with an awe in my eyes.. and I'd just be mesmerized on how they were marching with such pride. And as I grew up, all my friends wanted to be in the NFL and NBA.. and I was the one weird kid who was just passionate about the military and looked up to them with so much respect and they were my role models. Now I'm 15 and still passionate about the military, especially the Marine Corps, and I'm striving to become a Marine, not for the glory or the title, but for why I want to be a Marine, so I can lay down my life so that others can enjoy the freedom they deserve.

I love the contrast between this ad and the newest one. The newest ad looks to the future, to shifting battlefields and to prepare for what might be. It shows drones, odd personel carriers and what not, it really looks like an ad for a new gritty Battlefield game. This commercial looks to the past to take lessons learned by those before us and inspiration for what we can achieve. To never forget what has happend in the past and learn from it. I might not be american, but I sure as shit love this commercial.
