Congratulations to my grandson Zachary Elliott, second generation, in our family, West Point graduate, and to his father Richard Shawn Elliott, first generation West Point graduate, and to Zachary's mother Diane Elliott for the love dedication and support she provided in Zachary's life that brought him to this point. Congratulations to all these fine young men and women who have committed themselves to the service of our great nation. I thank you for your patriotism, dedication, commitment and steadfast honor, character, and selflessness in serving the citizens of this nation, great from its inception in 1776. I sure would like to be posted at West Point, just to be there and walk the grounds gives me goose bumps and proud to be in THE LONG GREY LINE. If I had one wish, it would spend the rest of my life there!
About midway through the handing out of diplomas, they stopped, one grad got extra time , shout outs from the generals, and a large paper bag. Can anyone explain that, please?

I understand, pointing out that army officers swear and oath to defend the constitution not any president or political party is hard for MAGA types to hear.
These graduates have taken an oath to support and defend the constitution, and they are always honored when the sitting president, elected and serving according to that constitution, is their commencement speaker. Politics has nothing to do with it. - Fellow USMA grad.
They're lucky to have someone honest speaking to them. You have been fed propaganda that blinds your historical perspective of how authoritarian leaders manipulates a citizenry that doesn't think.
Why are you triggered by a speech about the strength of the US military and its allies? Whether a speech from Biden, Trump, or RFK Jr, or whichever other goon we elect, the US military and its allies remains strong.
