Ofcourse! I’m currently in the army guard. Infantry. Looking into joining the Navy after this contract, quick question I plan on reserves. Do you know if MA goes to port during annual training and patrols the harbor or aircraft carriers. I would love MA to have the opportunity to do land and AMPHIBIOUS operations. Do you know if this is the case for the reserves?
@@RDB11B A friend of mine was an expeditionary MA while in the reserves. The whole amphibious, riverine squadron type of stuff is what recruiters usually talk about but in reality those are really hard to get into if they exist at all as opportunities. Most MAs stand at gates checking ID cards at least until they're second classes. Although there are opportunities to become K9 and Harbor before that.
Roger what is the pipeline for harbor patrol? Is that even possible in the reserves? Are MA reservists usually stuck on base gate guarding during Annual Training as well? I’m also an E6 in the army currently.
@@RDB11B If expeditionary in the reserves is possible, I'm sure harbor is too. I can't say much more than that, I've never been reserves only active duty.
Besides boot camp and leaving boot camp to get to A school, I've only ever worn the dress whites for inspections. Besides that, hearing "get your whites ready" usually means you're going to mast, which is like going to trial for something bad you've done. Thankfully I've never done anything bad or criminal. For the blues, I've only ever worn them once, for an A school inspection. Long story short, you almost never wear them. Yeah, you can wear them when you come home from A school, but you'll attract unwanted attention, people will try to talk to you and ask you questions, someone I know wore his dress whites to the airport and a guy called him a fake and a fraud even though he was real. Once you're actually in, you probably won't want to wear anything military when you don't have to.
