A lot of Supply Corps officers in that class. Also, it's apparent they've stopped awarding the National Defense Service Medal. And the first assignment for the new ensigns is to pick up their chairs. When I graduated from OCS in 1972, that duty was left to the lower classmen. Good luck to all.

Wow that’s a surprisingly small class.

Any one knows how their next station is determined? Do they give recruits a preference list?

Yes. I graduated from OCS in 1972. I am assuming that the officer candidates today follow the same process. It should be pretty standard. Near the end of our training we were required to fill out a "Dream Sheet" where we state our preferences (I believe there were three choices for me). These may vary depending upon what warfare specialty into which you are being commissioned. Since I was going surface navy, I had to choose three ship types (Destroyers, Cruisers, Amphibious, etc.) Some assignments may be off limits to newly commissioned ensigns. In my case, we could not specify Patrol Gunboats. I also think we were allowed to specify a preference for homeport. Should be very similar process now. Your assignment could be impacted by your ranking in your class, i.e. the higher you finish in your class the more likely you are to get your first choice. As I remember, I got my first choice. I vividly remember my commissioning ceremony. Very proud moment.
